A/N: Sorry for the slow updates, I have been busy lately. But I hope this chapter makes up for it. 😊

Forth’s POV
We were both quiet as we sit on the bench in the rooftop garden, sharing an earbud headset. It has been a couple of days since Beam started spending his lunch break here with me.
“Oh, I remember this song.” I say quietly as I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.
I waited for him to answer but there was none. I opened my eyes to look. He fell asleep.
A soft steady snore expends from his slightly open mouth. Well, he really looked exhausted earlier when he picked me up. His head was nodding up and down, and I’m afraid it might hit the back of the bench.
I decided to pull his head slowly to lean on my shoulder. Good thing he was sitting on my right side, so he was leaning on my good shoulder. My left arm is still on a sling due to the gunshot wound on my other shoulder.
His soft steady breathing somehow synced with mine. I bowed my head to observe his sleeping face.
I softly blow the soft hair that was covering his eyes.
Looking down, I marvel at the way his dark brows frame his eyes, and the thick dark lashes that contrasted with his pale skin. Even though there are now faint dark circles beneath his lids, he still looked angelic. He has been working hard with his internship lately.
Whenever I look at him, I always get lost in his deep expressive eyes. The way he looks at me is ever changing, sometimes furtive, sometimes fondly, and sometimes forlorn. I know he doesn’t know that I noticed. It’s like he is keeping a secret. The more I spend time with him, the more I believe I have known him a lot before. More than what he is telling me. I struggle to dig deeper into my memories, but I always end up aggravated with a pounding head.
His soft cheeks caught my attention next, his fair complexion glows with a hint of pink. He has an unbelievably perfect skin that complements his soft features. I absentmindedly brushed my knuckles against his cheeks, and yes, they are indeed very soft.
I don’t know why I am behaving this way towards this doctor. Even only after a few days of meeting him, I already felt attached and I always looked forward to the short moments with him in this garden.
My gaze turn to his semi-parted lips. They are undoubtedly inviting.
What are you to me, Beam? Why won’t you tell me?
I leaned in. I am perfectly aware that I am about to kiss him, and I am sane enough to know that it is wrong. But I continued anyway. I just have amnesia, but I’m starting to think I’ve gone crazy too.
Our lips were almost touching when his phone suddenly vibrated. I pursed my lips and scrunched my eyes shut before letting out a deep breath as I straightened up.
Beam stirred and jolted upright as he felt through his white coat for his phone. He found it on his left pocket, and checked the time.
“Oh, God. Sorry, I feel asleep.” He said sheepishly as he rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand. He looks so cute I can’t help but smile.
“It’s fine. It’s good that you got a short nap.”
“Sorry, we’re supposed to do some light walking with your crutches.” He replied.

“It’s okay. We can do it tomorrow.” Staying in the hospital isn’t so bad after all.
He looked at me again with that strange look. Then he nodded. “Alright, are you ready to go back now?”
I nod and he helped me stand, when I suddenly felt a leg cramp. Must be because of sitting too long, I never moved an inch the whole time Beam was sleeping.
I grimaced as muscles tightened in my calf. “Oh, shit, leg cramps.” Again fortunately enough, it was my good leg.
Beam immediately sat me back on the bench and then knelt to massage my leg. I am quite tall so the hospital gown I’m wearing ends just right below my knee, so right now, he was massaging my bare leg.
I felt the heat creep through my body. His hands are warm and my skin tingles where he touched.
I am at loss for words.
“Good thing, it’s your good leg.” He said as he expertly stretched and turned my foot.
“Don’t worry, It’ll be gone soon.” He looked up to me and smiled.
A smile that took my breath away. It was so dazzling, that I was automatically blinded.
“Uh… yeah.” I muttered as I gulped hard even though my mouth already went dry.
That really hit me hard. I am infatuated. I am slowly falling for this beautiful doctor in front of me.

Beam’s POV
“Careful.” I tell him as he puts down his crutches as he sat on the mat. We decided to eat lunch at the grassy area in the garden. Some hospital employees and patients do this when the weather is good. We just didn’t since Forth was on his wheelchair before.
Of course, we are just having lunch but I can’t help but feel giddy. This feels like a picnic date.
He smiles widely. “Congratulations to me, I finally got rid of that damn wheelchair.”
I just chuckled as I unpacked the food. We brought his meal from the hospital but I bought other food too.
His hospital lunch was composed of rice, chicken breast, slices of fruits, and a mix of steamed vegetables.
Then I took out the food I brought. I scooped his rice and replaced it with a bowl of shrimp porridge. I remember him always asking for it whenever he feels sick.
“Wow, this looks good.” he said as he scooped a spoonful and tasted it. He suddenly looked at the porridge and stared at it intently.
“Is something wrong, Forth? Too salty?” I asked. I made sure the seasoning was just the way he likes it.
“No. But this porridge is so delicious, Beam. Where’d you get it?”
“I made it.” I told him.
“Oh…” Now he was looking at me intently. Does he remember?
As much as I want to hide the truth, I actually want him to remember me on his own.
I just smiled at him. “Hey, eat faster, I only have an hour.”
I reached for his mixed vegetables and started forking the carrots and transferred them on my plate. He doesn’t like carrots and always made me eat them in the past.
“What are you doing?” He looked shocked.
“Nothing, I just love carrots. Are you gonna eat them?” I just shrugged at him.
He just stared at me. “Who are you, Beam?”
“Doctor Beam Baramee, medical intern at the Pediatric ward.” I answered.
“No, who are you to me?”

“Nothing. Just someone you knew.” I answered tactfully. Here we go again with his questions.
“How long have we known each other?”
I let out a sigh. “I was seventeen when we met. It was just a brief encounter, because I left.”
“Why did you leave?”
“To study abroad.”
His brows furrowed. “Wow, you must be rich to study medicine abroad.”
“It’s my dad who is rich.”
“Who's your dad? Do I know him?”
“Maybe, Phassakorn Vongphipan.”
His eyes grew wide. “The Phassakorn Vongphipan? Owner of this hospital?”
I just nodded.
“Wow.” He looked more confused than ever.
“Hey, just eat and stop thinking.” I prodded, but he just had this faraway look in his eyes. Like he is trying to remember something. I hope he is trying to remember me.
I sighed and scooped some food on the spoon then fed it to him. He just opened his mouth, eats the food, and looks at me curiously.
“My hands are fine.” He says.
“I know, but it would take the whole day before you finish. I only have a few minutes left.” I smiled as I feed him another spoonful.
I feel really happy. I never imagined doing this, taking care of him again. Him being on my side. It felt different than before. I was young and naive back then. But now, I am facing him as a grown man. And it felt like we are getting to know each other all over again.
He just chews his food and looks at me. I look at him still smiling. I know I look like an idiot but I can’t wipe the stupid smile on my face. I am happy.
Just then I noticed something, “Why are your ears so red?” I asked as I reached to cup his left ear.
He flinched and started choking. I hurriedly opened the water bottle and handed it to him.
Then I grabbed a napkin to wipe his mouth and the spilled food on his hospital gown.
“Are you, okay?” I started rubbing his back.
I looked at his now flustered face. Is he embarrassed? That was my role, not his.
I know it’s not funny but I started giggling. I don’t know what came over me but I can’t seem to stop.
His eyes widened as he stares at me.
“I’m sorry. Promise I’m not making fun of you.” I say in between my giggling fits.
His eyes softened and smiled.
Surprisingly, he lets out a chuckle, which gradually became giggles, too.
Here we are in the garden, two grown men having a picnic, giggling like teenagers.

Forth’s POV
There was a knock on door and then Beam’s head peeked through the door.
“Come in, Beam.”
Wow.
It’s my first time seeing him in casual clothes. A simple light blue button shirt and jeans. He looks so good. Fresh and handsome.
“Hey, close your mouth and wipe that drool.”
“Excuse me?” I say as unconcerned as possible.
“I’m just teasing you.” He laughed.
My goodness. I’m like a stupid teenager having a crush.
“It’s my rest day, I’m about to go so I decided to drop by and share these tangerines.” He placed the basket full of the fruit in my bedside table.
“My patient’s mom gave me these. There’s too many, so I brought you half of them.”
Then he motioned his two arms, as if inviting for a hug. I reached for him. He lifted me from my lying position and propped me into a sitting position. I can actually sit myself up but I’m not complaining.
We are now semi hugging. He did not let go as he stacked the pillows on my back. I tentatively wrapped my arms around him. We are so close I can smell his cologne and natural scent. So sweet, so attractive.
He coughed and I got startled, I let him go instantly.
He propped himself on the chair beside my bed and started to peel a tangerine. I just sat there and looked at him. Like, looked really hard as I observe him from head to toe. I still can’t get past his fresh boy look. He doesn’t look like a doctor at all.
“You know if looks could melt, I would have been a puddle of goo already.” He said it coolly but I think I notice a hint of blush in his cheeks. His eyes was focused on the tangerine.
“I… I’m sorry. I was just used to seeing you in a doctor’s gown.”
He chuckled.
“I get that a lot.” he said as he calmly detached a section of tangerine and held it to my mouth.
This guy is really full of surprises. I can’t think of anything to say so I just opened my mouth as he slid the fruit inside. His fingers slightly brushing my lips.
He got another piece and ate it. We silently stared at each other as we chewed the fruit. Then he was casually feeding me and himself. I can’t really place a description of what we are doing right now. Are we flirting?
“You got juice on your chin.” He said and reached to wipe my chin with his thumb. My heart is beating wildly now.
His eyes are now looking at my lips as his fingers traced my lower lip. I don’t think there’s juice in there at all.
“What are we doing, Beam?” I asked.
“What do you mean?”
“This. What is this?” I just want to know what exactly is happening.
He didn’t answer. He stood up and straightened his clothes.
“I have to go now.”
Of course, he doesn’t wanna talk about it.
“What are you doing today?” I asked.
“I don’t know, maybe go out, party, find a date.” He answered.
I stiffened. “A date?”
I was actually dying to ask if he is seeing someone. So this kinda confirms it, he’s not seeing anyone.
“Just kidding, I’m just gonna buy some things and sleep like snow white.”
“Oh, okay.” I felt relieved. More like, I felt possessive.
“Gotta go. Take care, I will see you after two days.” He smiled.
He turned to leave but I almost forgot something. “Beam!”
He looked at me.
“I realized I don’t have your number all this time.” I said.
“I… I think I’m going to get discharged real soon.”
“You plan to contact to me after?” He looks taken by surprise.
“Of course... “ I answered. “You know… to like… hang out or something.”
Of course, to take you on a date. Is what I want to say.
“Oh, sure… of course.” He replied as he entered his number on my phone.
“Thanks.”
“Bye, Forth.” I waved as he closed the door.
“Goodbye, Beam.” I grinned as I saved his number. Doctor Beam.
I immediately texted him.
Enjoy your day!
In just a few seconds, he replied.
Doctor Beam: Thanks! :)
