Reader POV
We got to the market, and I immediately started to walk to the specialty food items. I grab rice, seaweed, salmon, and tuna. I see Bart staring at Spicy doritos, I giggle and grab two bags, only to see his eyes light up with excitement.
"So what are going to do after this?", he questions.
"Well I heard that there was a carnival all weekend, and I thought we could go.", he blushed at this.
"Sure why not?", I smile and drag him to the register.
After paying I try to put all the groceries away, but as soon as I walk into the door a blur grabs my bags and everything is all put away. I giggle seeing Bart striking a pose.
"Ta da, you like that trick. It was so crash wasn't it?", I nod and blush.
"You know you didn't need to help me. I could have done it on my own. Now i'm guessing you want to get ready for the carnival that starts in two hours?", he nods. "Alright, why don't we watch some t.v. while we wait?"
"Sure that be great. I wonder if they have a ferris wheel."
"Why you want to kiss me at the top?", I teased.
"W- what pssh no.", I shrug.
"Alright what do you want to watch? How about some (f/s) or doctor who?", I smile.
"(f/s)", he grinned.
TIME SKIP
"Finally we're here", I roll me eyes.
"It only took five minutes to get here", Impulse pouts.
"Soo, hey whats that?", I look in that direction.
I see a stage and a sign that read 'singing contest winner gets free (f/f)'.
"OH MY GOD, we have to do it!!", he chuckles.
"Sorry dude can't sing."

"Fine I will do it.' we walk up to the entry booth" excuse me I would like to enter."
"Sure sweety, what's you name?"
"(y/n) (l/n)"
"Alright, you are number 88."
"Thank you ma'am, what time do I have to be here?"
"In one hour, and what song will you be singing?"
"Heart Attack by Demi Lovato", she smiles and waves me off as she writes me down as an entry.
We go to different booths, I look at my watch and see that an 55 minutes have passed.
"Oh my god!?, I have to be there in five minutes!"
"Well then lets go!"
We run there to see contest number 86 walk down stage wit her had low.
After 87 finished it was me.
"Welcoming contest number 88, (y/n) singing Heart Attack by Demi Lovato. Alright you can start.
*music starts*
"Puttin' my defenses up
'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I'd have a heart attack
Never put my love out on the line
Never said "Yes" to the right guy
Never had trouble getting what I want
But when it comes to you, I'm never good enough
When I don't care
I can play 'em like a Ken doll
Won't wash my hair
Then make 'em bounce like a basketball
But you make me wanna act like a girl
Paint my nails and wear high heels
Yes, you make me so nervous
That I just can't hold your hand
You make me glow,
But I cover up
Won't let it show,
So I'm...
Puttin' my defenses up
'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I'd have a heart attack [3x]
Never break a sweat for the other guys

When you come around, I get paralyzed
And every time I try to be myself
It comes out wrong like a cry for help
It's just not fair
Pain's more trouble than love is worth
I gasp for air
It feels so good, but you know it hurts
But you make me wanna act like a girl
Paint my nails and wear perfume for you
Make me so nervous
That I just can't hold your hand
You make me glow,
But I cover up
Won't let it show,
So I'm...
Puttin' my defenses up
'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I'd have a heart attack [3x]
The feelings got lost in my lungs
They're burning, I'd rather be numb
And there's no one else to blame (no one else)
So scared I take off and I run
I'm flying too close to the sun
And I burst into flames
You make me glow,
But I cover up
Won't let it show,
So I'm...
Puttin' my defenses up
'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
If I ever did that
I think I'd have a heart attack [5x]"
"Well, look at that we have a winner it is ..."

Bitter
The story of a girl who finds her life is not what she wanted. So she gets another one. Schedule: Story has been completed. Book One is available free on Amazon and EPUB. Books Two to Five are out now. Final Book out soon. Chapters will be around 500-1000 words. This will not change so if you don't like reading very short chapters wait till the end of the week or even end of the month. This many chapters a week isn't easy to pull off so please bear that in mind. This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting. Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun. Of course, then there's the orcs and elves. This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.

A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
