"So Mr. Cross. We need you to uhm do your thing so we can get an accurate sample." The doctor explained.
I looked at Sailor and she tried not to laugh at me.
Why do I get the weird part.
"Okay then." I stood and went to the restroom.
-
"You both are incredibly fertile. You could conceive the first time easy. At least if your egg accepts it. Tell me if this is too soon but you've been a patient of mine for a while so I could wiggle in the IUI tomorrow." The doctor smiled excitedly at her.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"I know it's so fast and all but I think it would do well if this is your plans for your future." She explained.
"What do you think?" Sailor calmly asked me.
Oh if my baby doesn't look like her.
"Whatever you want my love." I looked at her.
"What time?" Sailor asked.
My heart rushed in excitement, eager to be everything I wanted to be, thinking until I met her that I would never get it.
"3 pm. For your particular situation your body acts as if it's always ovulating so it'll work and results will appear a week or two after the procedure. Maybe sooner for your circumstances." She nodded.
"Okay." Sailor nodded and my heart exploded.
"Procedure will take 5-10 minutes, really easy, we will be keeping your provided sample for tomorrow as this baby will genetically be the both of yours, there is no health issues adding with this, it will be a normal, healthy pregnancy unless seen otherwise but that happens with normal pregnancies as well." She said and I took a breath.
"With insurance the procedure is $300." She did a strange motion with her gloved hands.

"We can do that fine." I nodded.
"Then I'll see you tomorrow." She smiled and hugged Sailor, shook my hand as we left.
"You're gonna be a dad." She grinned at me.
"You're gonna carry my child." I shook my head.
"Good thing?" She asked.
"Beautiful thing." I looked at her and kissed her forehead before nearly devouring her lips.
"Ready to go home?" I asked.
Her cheeks were flushed and she was flustered.
"I am." She smiled.
-
"Everything went fine, you can buy the tests, drink tons of water and check in a week or two. Schedule monthly appointments and I can't wait to watch you progress." The doctor smiled and I nearly fainted.
"Thank you so much." Sailor hugged her.
I clung to my girl as I was shocked. I knew it was coming but it was too good to be true.
"We know." Owen held flowers to her and she looked at me with a soft smile.
"Thank you so much." She hugged Owen and took the flowers before taking the chocolates from Ro and hugging him.
"You're gonna be a dad." Rowan patted my back.
"I'm so excited." I whispered envisioning my pregnant fiancée as well as the aftermath of seeing her holding and feeding our child.
Ugh my girl.

8 207The Ingress of Dreams
It starts with a hypothesis on the Internet that a dream hundreds of thousands of people around the world report having is actually a shared dream. Details noticed in one person's dream are found to be independently verifiable in another. Once you enter The Dream, you stop having normal dreams. Night after night you fall asleep and reenter the same dreamworld you left, a corresponding amount of time having passed in it as well. With each day and night that passes, the number of people roped into this phenomenon increases until very quickly most of the world's population are sharing this second life in their sleep. This dreamscape quickly develops its own rules, nations, dangers and wars, and fundamentally changes everything about humanity's waking and dream lives.

8 132Lear County Outlook
Based on true events in my life. Think of these stories as H P Lovecraft meets Rob Zombie. Each story has pieces, confessions, from the rural decay of Appalachia wrapped in horror and madness. All are set in the fictional county of Lear, which is a dark mirror held up to surface, idealized countryside. Blood and familial ties bind deep in a hopeless and rotted south. Tales are whispered of Hill Witches and Demons. Shunned communities molder. All these truths are hidden in the stories of deceit and lies. The first arc revolves around theft and exploitation at one of the last factories of Lear County. Abuse of power draws all down the path of madness.
