"Good news miss" The officer came back in and walked to the back of my chair, unlocking my handcuffs "Your free to go"
"What, why?" I was so confused
"Your 'friend' confessed to the murder and all we need from you is a victim file" He said
Vincent confessed? Why would he do that? I was so confused.
"So, I can go?" I ask
"Yees, just stop by the front desk to fill in some paperwork, please" The officer said
I nod and follow him out of the room to the front desk where a grinning lady sat with a small pile of papers beside her.
...Many Papers Later...
I exit the police station and pull out my phone. I had many missed calls from Scott, Fritz and Jeremy. I call Jeremy first, as he was probably the most afraid.
The phone rings a few times and was answered quickly by a frantic voice.
"y/n! Y-Your ok!" He said, relieved
"Yeah, I'm all good" I say
"A-Are you f-feeling ok?" He asked
"oh, don't worry about me" I reassure him "How are you doing?"
"U'Um, I'm f-fine now" He says "B-But M-Mike is..."
He went silent for a moment "I heard" I whisper
"W-where are y-you n-now?" He asks, changing the subject
"I'm just outside the police station, I'm gonna call Scott to give me a ride" I reply
"I-I see, w-well then I-I won't keep y-you a-any longer" He said
"Ok, I guess I'll see you later?" I smile
"B-Bye"
I hang up the phone and move on to Scotts contact
The phone only rings once when Scott picks up with a panicked tone.
"Y/n! H-How are you feeling!? Are you ok!? We were all so worried about you!" He blurted

"Scott! I'm fine" I interrupt "It was all figured out, don't worry about me"
He sighed "Oh, thank goodness. So what are you doing now?"
"Um, actually, can you come and pick me up?" I ask "I need a lift home and then to the hospital, if that works with your schedule?"
"Of course, where are you now?" He asks
"Im outside the (town) police station" I explain
"I'll be there soon" He says "Bye"
"See ya" I hang up and sit next to the station door.
People took sideways glances at me as they walked past. I must look a mess. I stink like blood as my sleeves were stained slightly with the liquid. My hair was everywhere and kept falling in my face. I could see my pant legs were slightly ripped and my shoes had been ruined for good. About ten minutes later, Scotts car pulled up in front of me and I bounded over. I jump in and was instantly pulled into a tight embrace by Scott. I return the hug after a while and he lets me go.
"We were all so worried about you" He says
"Well, you don't need to worry about me" I say as I buckle in and Scott starts to drive "I'm just gonna call Fritz"
I pull out my phone again and call Fritz. It rang a few times before
"The person you have called is not available" the automatic voicemail sounded
I put down the phone "He didn't answer" I say
"His phone must be dead" Scott answered
"Yeah, maybe"
On the way back to my place, I explain to him what happened and how I 'escaped' We soon arrived at my apartment and we both got out of the car. I unlocked the door and walked in. It felt so good to be home again. But, it felt empty. Lonely.

"I-I'm just gonna have a shower" I say "Feel free to do whatever"
"Ok" Scott goes and sits on the sofa, turning on the tv.
I enter the bathroom and lock the door, undressing myself and turn on the shower. The water felt so good against my skin. It was so refreshing to let the warm water wash over my skin. I stayed in the shower until all the hot water was used, in which I had to get out. I wrap the towel around me and open the door. I run to my bedroom to avoid Scott seeing me, and shut the door. I pick out a (fav/shirt), (pants) and put them on, drying my hair and walking out of my room.
"You ready to go?" I ask
"Yep" Scott turns off the tv and we walk out the door
We get back in the car and head off to the hospital.
"So, who's working today?" I ask
"At where?" Scott asks, oblivious
"Duh, at Freddy's" I laughed
"Oh, uh. Freddy's closed down" Scott said slowly "after the murder of four kids, it got sued and had to shut down."
"Oh, what are we supposed do now?" I ask, surprised
"Well, Fritz and I are already looking into renting a place out of town" he says "and Jeremy is only worried about Mike and you"
"Right"
We drive for a little over 10 minutes when Scott parks in the hospital car park and we get out of the car. Scott follows behind me as I speed walk into the hospital and almost crash into the front desk.
"Can I help you miss?" the lady asked
"Yes, what room is Mike Schmidt in, please?" I ask
She types something on her computer and turns back to me "room 314 on the third floor"
"Thank you" I grab Scott's hand and pull him to the elevator.
We arrived at the third floor and found room 314. Jeremy was there, sleeping on a chair in the corner wearing his usual green hoodie. We didn't want to disturb him, so we tip toed in and sat in the chairs next to the bed. Mike was lying on the bed with bandages around his head that had a small patch of red on the side. He had a tube in his mouth and his leg was in a cast that had been elevated. Tears welled up in my eyes as I leaned on the bed next to him. The rise and fall of his chest was so peaceful and calm. I felt my eyes grow tired, I hadn't slept since two days ago.
"Are you ok?" Scott asks
"Yeah, I'm just really tired" I yawn
"Well, I'll take Jeremy home" He suggested "and I'll leave you to it"
"Thanks" I reply tiredly as I rest my head on my arms.
Scott walks over to Jeremy and shakes him lightly.
"Come on Jere, lets go" he whispered
Jeremy tiredly lifted his head and Scott helps him up. He was still half asleep as he didn't notice me and walked out a bit flimsy like.
I wait until their gone and close my eyes slowly. My dreams took over and I fell into a deep sleep.

Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
