"Let's just leave" Scott pushes us all out of the building.

We all leave the building and Scott locks up.

I was really tired and sore from that night.

"Hey, are you walking home?" Mike asks

"Uhh yeah I guess" I say "oh and thank you for in yah know saving me and all"

"Ah, no problem. I just like to beat them up." He says

'What a strange man' I thought

"Uh do you need a ride home?" He asks

"No I think I can walk" I say

"I can walk you?"he says

"No it's ok, you have already saved me I mean i think I owe you." You say

You start to walk home and realise that Mike is walking with you.

"You really don't have too" I say

"Oh, but I want to" he says

"Ok" You say

It was an awkward walk home as none of us had anything to talk about. I was about to ask him something when his phone starts to ring.

He got it out of his pocket and answered it.

"Hi Doll" he says, he didn't seem very happy.

"No I'll be home a bit later cause I'm walking a new co worker home"

"K, love you bye"

"Was that your sister?" I ask

"Uh no" he says scratching the back of his neck "that was my girlfriend"

He has a girlfriend. To be honest, something inside of me kind of dropped. I was a little disappointed.

"So, how long have you been working there?" I ask, trying to start a conversation

"Uh, a little over a year i think" He says "I can't really remember

"Do you like it?"

"No"

"Then why do you work there?"

"I'd rather work there than give up my place to some poor person"

"Thats, actually really cool"

"I try"

I soon arrive home and thank Mike for walking me back. He walks back in the direction we came and I open the door, immediately being greeted by my mum.

"Ooh what's that your new friend or your boyfriend" she teases.

"No just a friend" I giggle "he has a girlfriend"

My mum walks up to the window and watches Mike until he is around the corner and out of sight. "He seems nice" She smiles "So how was work?"

"Uh.. good" I say

"That's good"

"Umm y/n?" She says shakily

"Yeah?" I ask sceptically

"You know how I've also been looking for a new job since dad left"

"Yeah?"

"Well I've been given a big job offer in London"

"LONDON!" I shout

"Calm down honey" she says

A few tears escape my eyes and slide down your face.

"I'm sorry"

"Why so soon?"

"I applied a few months ago" She says "and yesterday I got the email accepting me"

"oh"

"I know you just got a job, so I think you should stay here" She says sympathetically "Why don't you ask one of your coworkers to bunk for a while?"

I look at her and say "but won't you be lonely in London, where will you stay?"

"It's ok, my sister and her family live in London. I'm staying with them."

I start crying more and feel the warm embrace of my mum, who was also tearing up.

"You'll be fine sweetie" she says soothingly "I'm sure he won't mind.

I breath in deeply "O-ok mum. *sob* I'll ask h-him."
