《one night stand | spencer reid》one

I wake up tangled in bedsheets with another man, who I did not recognize. I immediately jolt out of bed, looking for my bra and underwear. As soon as I get them on, the man in my bed sits up. I flinch.
"Oh, I didn't mean to scare you... uh..."
"Stella. And you are... uhhh..."
"Spencer."
"Well, Spencer, you have to leave. It is my first day of work and I have to be ready in 45 minutes."
"Alright. I have to go get ready for work too. Unless..."
I smirk and kiss him one last time. "That's all. I have to go shower, and when I come out, you better be gone."
He chuckles and nods and begins to collect his clothes from all over my bedroom floor. Just as I turn on my shower, I hear my front door open and shut. I showered, dried my hair, put on some makeup, and picked out my outfit for my first day. I pull on a light purple blouse, black dress pants, and small black heels. I walk into the bathroom and run my fingers through my long blonde hair, giving it some volume, but not too much. I grab my keys and walk out the door.
As the elevator doors open to the BAU, I am greeted by a man.
"Hello, I am SSA Aaron Hotchner, but everyone just calls me Hotch. I am the unit chief and will be showing and introducing you to everyone. Luckily for you, we have a case today. By the looks of it, I don't think you have a go bag."
"Oh, I can run back and get one." I say.
"Don't bother. The case is local." He says and starts walking towards the bullpen, towards my co-workers. But one person stands out. My jaw drops when he looks up. His jaw drops too and he immediately clears his throat.
"Everyone, this is Agent Stella Keller. Here we have agents Derek Morgan, Emily Prentiss, Jennifer Jareau, you can call her JJ, Penelope Garcia, and David Rossi. Then we have Dr. Spencer Reid."
I shake each of their hands, one by one, and then hesitate when I get to Spencer, knowing that both him and I are recollecting our events from last night. I eventually shake his hand.

"Everyone, meet up in the conference room in 10 minutes. Agent Keller, right here is your desk, you can get set up." Hotch says, while walking to his office.
I walk over and set down my things and Spencer walks over.
"Are you taking a contraceptive?" He whispers so that only I can hear. I nod, and he lets out a sigh of relief.
"We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. I know how to keep a secret." I say with a smile. He nods and winks at me, and then heads over to his desk. I smile, but immediately wipe it off when I see another agent look in my direction. I continue to unpack my stuff, and I overhear agent Morgan talking to Spencer.
"Hey Reid, who gave you that little hickey?" Morgan says with a smirk.
"Um.. what hickey?" He asks.
"The one on your neck, pretty boy. You didn't do a very good job covering it up." He laughs.
"None of your business, Morgan." He mumbles.
"Looks like Reid had some fun last night." Prentiss says from afar.
"Shut up guys." Reid says, while heading up to the conference room.
I can feel my face heating up, even though nobody is suspecting me. I know Spencer is thinking about it, and I am too. I don't think either of us expected this to happen. To meet again.
I head up to the conference room and Garcia begins presenting the case.
I completely zone out during the case briefing and end up just staring at the floor, then the wall, and Spencer. I only catch a few bits of information. The fact that there was no sign of forced entry, his victims were tall blondes, and his signature was a note with a letter on it.
Then, Hotch gives out assignments.
"Morgan and Prentiss, go check out the latest crime scene. Rossi and JJ, go to the M.E, Reid and Stella, you're with me at the precinct. Alright everyone, let's move." Hotch exclaims while getting up from his seat.
The drive to the precinct is the farthest out of all of the assignments, so by the time we get there, we will probably have information from the crime scene and the M.E. . The car ride is very silent. And very awkward.

Once we arrive at the precinct, I am instructed to go talk to the family of the woman killed, and try to get information out of them in a nice way. Hotch would sit in with me, and try to guide me through the process, since it is my first time.
After that interview, I am filled with theories and ideas. I decide to share a few. "So the mother said that our victim texted her saying that she was heading to a bar that night, and then spending the night at her friend's afterwards. I contacted the friend, and she said that our victim, Alyssa Monroe, never arrived. So the killing happened after she left the bar." I state confidently.
"How do you know she even arrived at the bar in the first place?" Reid asked, almost testing me.
"I called Garcia and had her hack into the security feed from the bar. It showed her entering and exiting the bar over the course of 1 hour." I say.
"Did she talk to or leave with anyone?" Reid asks.
"She talked to a few people, but one man caught my eye. She talked to him only briefly, and she left the bar alone. About two minutes later, that man left the bar. He could be our unsub, we just need more proof." I state.
"Alright, have Garcia run facial recognition on the man. We should bring him in for questioning even if he isn't guilty." Hotch's phone rings in the middle of talking.
"I have to take this. I'm also going to head over the the crime scene. Are you guys fine here?" Hotch asks.
We both nod. Hotch walks out, and I look down at the case files. I try not to look at Spencer. It would just make things incredibly awkward. Eventually, I addressed the elephant in the room.
"Spencer, do we have to talk about "it?"" I say, with air quotes.
"We can but not now. I like to keep work professional." He says not even making eye contact with me. I look down at the files and begin to sort through them with him. We do this until Hotch comes back, saying that they found the unsub, and they want us to come to the house.
We grab our vests and guns and walk out of the precinct, and head towards the unsub's house.
Hotch orders JJ, Spencer, and I to go around back, while everyone else takes the front. JJ goes in first, and Spencer and I immediately follow.
"FBI!" JJ shouts. He pulls out a gun and trains it on us.
"PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPON!" I shout. He fires a shot at JJ so Spencer and I fire at him, hitting him in the chest. JJ is on the ground, but isn't hit. I let out a sigh of relief.
I look at the unsub. I don't know if he will live or not. What is important to me right now though is that our team is okay.
Spencer and I help JJ up, and the unsub is arrested. We all head back to the precinct, gather our things, and then head towards Quantico.
By the time we all arrive, it is 7 pm. Some people are going out to dinner. I take a seat at my desk, and soon everyone is gone, except for Spencer and I.
"Why didn't you go out to dinner with everyone?" I ask politely.
"Wasn't in the mood for dinner." He says, while twiddling his thumbs.
I stand up and walk over to his desk. "Can we talk about this? Maybe not here, but at a diner or something? I don't know."
He sighs. "Yeah, I know a good diner a couple blocks from here."
"Alright. Just let me grab my things. Do you want to meet there? Since we each have our own cars?" I ask.
"Sure. Whatever you want." He mumbles. I nod at his statement and exit the bullpen, smiling to myself as I enter the elevator.
