《Two Existentialists | S.R.》25

Hello folks, just some fun tidbits.
1.) I imagine season 5/6 reid here but you do what you like the most obviously.
2.) part of Y/N is based on me, as self-inserts usually are. I try to stay away from specific features to make it easily applicable to as many people as possible.
3.) I'm trying to line it up with the show but I changed some plot points and moved some around. But, for the most part, it's pretty sequential to the show.
Anyway, enjoy!
————-
You spent the day showing Spencer around your hometown. It was a small suburb twenty minutes from Providence. You started by taking him to your favorite coffee shop where you made him try a latte called 'caramel overload'. Spencer loved it, given he drank his coffee with the most amount of sugar you'd ever seen.
"I see diabetes in your future," you teased, wiping whipped cream off his nose, licking your finger.
"Hmmm, it's worth it," he replied, pulling you in for a sweet kiss. You smiled against his lips, pulling away and leaning into his side.
"Where to next?" he asked, snaking his arm around your waist.
"Book store?" You asked, watching Spencer's eyes light up.** You took that as a yes as you pulled him across the town square to the book store. He watched you happily as you pulled out books you thought were interesting, picking each of them up. He bought you every book you had liked, causing you to fall in love with him even more.
"Spencer, this isn't necessary."
"I will buy you anything. I just want you to be happy."
"Well, good thing you make me happier than any material object ever can," you whispered, pushing him against a bookshelf to kiss him. Spencer smiled, your sudden PDA turning him on.
"Y/N, if you keep kissing me, we may have to find an empty room."
You laughed, hitting his chest lightly. "Don't tempt me Spencer," you teased, causing his eyes to widen. You laughed harder, knowing he was all talk.
"That's it, we're going back," Spencer muttered. You rolled your eyes but didn't argue. Spencer pulled you out of the store and spun you into his arms. You smiled and sank into his side as he led you to your car.
Y/N? Is that you?" You heard, grimacing. The voice belonged to a person you were not very fond of. You stopped and sighed, looking at Spencer with a sorry look.
"James! How are you?" you said, fake happiness dripping from your voice.
James smiled, stepping closer. "I'm good. How have you been? How's Georgetown?"
"It's good, I'm good," you said squinting your eyes, Spencer's grasp around you tightening. You leaned into him slightly more.
"I've missed seeing you. We should catch up," he flirted, causing you to to take a gulp.

"Yeah definitely! I'll see if I can move some things around, might be hard though."
"Oh, I see, well, hopefully I can have that date you promised me 3 years ago before we graduated. Still looking forward to it," he muttered. You cringed, Spencer feeling you tense.
"Yeah, sure!" you said with a fake voice. You looked at Spencer who frowned and grinned. "Spence, when's good for you?" You asked.
"Hmm. It may be hard with our flight back in the next couple days, but I'm sure I can find 30 minutes in my schedule for you to catch up with an old friend," he said, kissing your temple. You grinned, tilting your head.
"Who are you?" James asked, crossing his arms.
"This is Dr. Reid," you said, pinching his cheek.
"Her fiancé. The Doctor is for my 3 PhD's," he interjected, kissing your hand. "Anyway, family dinner starts in 20 minutes, can't be late. See you," he said falsely turning and dragging you away.
You got to your car, raising an eyebrow. "Fiancé?"
"I'm sorry. I profiled him and I knew he wouldn't take boyfriend as seriously, seeing his body language alone. So I fibbed."
You smiled, kissing his cheek. "Thank god you did, James has been obsessed with me since the 8th grade. I've managed to evade him since graduation, since he went to college in Michigan. Don't know what I would've done without you there today."
Spencer nodded, pushing you against the car. "You're mine," he whispered, kissing you roughly. You grinned against his lips.
"Oh yes I am, doctor," you replied, stroking his cheek. "And, we really are late for dinner," you said softly, opening the car door. Spencer huffed and released you, walking to the other side and getting in.
"Stupid James ruining the stupid mood," he muttered. You laughed, lacing your hands with his.
"Stupid James indeed," you murmured, pulling out of the lot.
Thirty minutes later, you sat down for dinner. Nate's family and Lola's always joined you for Christmas Eve dinner, you spent Christmas morning at Lola's, and Christmas dinner at Nate's. It also helped that you all lived next to each other, your friendship being engineered by the way the universe worked out.
"So, Nate tells me you work for the FBI," Nate's mom said to Spencer.
"Yes! I work for the BAU. We hunt down serial killers among other people, not that that's something we should be talking about this time of year," Spencer said, shaking his head. You laughed, lacing your hand with his.
"Spencer offered to help me find a forensics internship," Nate mentioned, reaching for the cranberry sauce. "Y/N really found a good guy finally," he continued, smiling at you. You smiled, ruffling Nate's hair.

"We're glad to hear that, you deserve a person to make you as happy as you make everyone around you," Lola's mom interjected. You blushed, looking down.
"Guys, you're going to make me cry," you muttered, causing everyone to laugh. Spencer watched you carefully, squeezing your hand.
Two hours later you all gathered in the living room dressed in your pajamas. "For the joint Christmas, we give all of our gifts at midnight," you explained, leaning into Spencer's side. He smiled in response, his arms sitting loosely on your hip. "Although, you didn't need to get me anything Spence."
"I got you something, I think you'll like it. At least I hope you will," he whispered, leaning his head against yours.
"PRESENT TIME!" Lola screamed, as the clock struck 12. You laughed, shaking your head.
"Jeez L, calm down, we're adults."
"And? The spirit of Christmas never dies, Y/N!" She said with a smile as she handed you a box. You opened it, seeing a pair of blue earrings.
"Lola, these are beautiful," you said happily.
"There's a second part to the present, it's up on your room," she said, giving you a hug. "Open it with the cute doctor," she whispered. You looked at her strangely, her shaking her head.
"My turn!" Nate said grinning, handing you a bag. You opened it and saw a limited edition set of your favorite book series.
"Nate! How did you find these?"
"You know when you went to buy them and they had already been sold?" He asked.
"You!"
"It was the perfect gift. I had to," he said, making you smile.
"Thank you Nate. I love them," you said, kissing his cheek gently before finding your place back in Spencer's arms.
"I suppose it's my turn," Spencer whispered, handing you an envelope. "It's nothing big," he continued, his hand returning to your hip. You smiled, opening it to see two plane tickets to Paris.
"Spence?" You whispered, turning to look at him.
"You've mentioned how much you wanted to go," he replied, smiling at you. You pouted, tears pricking your eyes.
"God damn it Spencer, this is too much," you muttered. He rolled his eyes and wiped a tear off of your face.
"It's never too much when it's for you," he said, kissing your hand. "Now, will you come?"
"What kind of question is that? Of course I'm coming. You and me and Paris?" you gushed, wrapping your arms around him. He laughed, holding you tightly.
"Hey! Watch those hands," your dad muttered, causing you to groan.
"Dad!" You shrieked, pulling away from Spencer, "they weren't anywhere they shouldn't have been, stop it," you complained. Your dad laughed and nodded.
"I'm just teasing the boy," your dad said with a smile. "You're fine Spencer," he continued, causing Spencer to take a breath.
"Nice to know," he murmured, causing everyone to laugh. You kissed his hand, smiling.
"Spencer and I are heading to bed, seeing as we have to be up at 10 for breakfast. We will see you all in the morning," you announced a while later, standing up. Spencer waved at everyone and followed you up the stairs.
You walked into your room, closing the door and seeing a box on your bed. "What's that?" Spencer asked.
"Lola said to open it with you," you said, pulling at the bow. The box unfolded to show a pile of periwinkle lace. You groaned, holding your head in your hands.
"Is that?" Spencer asked. You nodded, blushing scarlet.
"I'm going to kill her," you muttered.
"I'm going to send her a thank you note," Spencer replied, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind. You hummed happily, spinning in his arms.
"Oh, I'm sure you will," you said, kissing him sweetly. "Now, I was serious about sleeping," you continued, moving the box to your desk and slipping under the covers. Spencer nodded and joined you. "Night my genius," you whispered, snuggling into his arms.
You were awoken to hushed voices. You saw Spencer sitting on the edge of the bed, phone to his ear. "Sorry Mom, we came to visit Y/N's family. Yes, I'll come visit soon. No, I'm not bringing her. What if she's not comfortable? Mom, don't push it. Mom, I love her! Yes, really. Oh god pump the brakes, no baby names yet. Yes, I'll ask her. Ok, I love you, I'll see you soon. Bye mom," he said, putting the phone down and turning to see you smiling at him. "How much of that did you hear?"
"Baby names? Well, personally I like Layla and Luna for girls and Atlas and Leo for boys, but you're allowed to have some input I guess," you teased, Spencer smiled as he tackled you onto the bed.
"Any name you would pick would be perfect," he whispered, kissing you softly. You pulled away, tracing his cheekbone.
"Spence, I'd love to meet your mom," you said slowly, hoping it wouldn't scare him off.
"You would?" He asked, a big smile on his face.
"Of course, she's your mom. Do you want to go next week?"
"You're serious?"
You sat up, holding Spencer's face in your hands. "Absolutely. I want to meet her. I hope she likes me though."
"Oh she'll love you, no doubt about that," he said, leaning down to kiss you again. "maybe even more than I do."
"And here I thought that wasn't possible."

Drinker of the Yew: A Necromancer's Tale
Updates Once a Week next update 10/5 Wracked with misfortune, a nameless village along the edge of the Gray Spine rejoiced at the arrival of a paladin. Those celebrations, though, turned to wary tension as the paladin brought an unknown into their midst - his wife Nayinis, who wears the markings of a necromancer. Who is this woman? Why has she come to their village? Nayinis divulges her shadowed past, for she needs the village's trust to defeat the powerful foe that she has been summoned by the divine to face. What to expect: This is a slow-paced, dark, epic-fantasy book written mostly in an archaic first-person style, remniscent of fariy-tale at times. I am expecting the final product to be close to 600-700 pages. The first few chapters introduce a somewhat-steep learning curve of names and mythology of the world that plateaus at aroud chapter 5. Bright Battle Story: Tactics Heart
This is Bright Battle Academy. It is not a place where your hand will be held or your failings compensated for. It is not a place for the weak, or the subversive, or the conspicuously diverse. This is Bright Battle Academy, where champions are forged and legends begin. Dwarfs? Once they were part of the great alliance. They helped build this very academy. But they were so stubborn, so unyielding, so unwilling to bend themselves to the rules. And so they weakened, and so they declined, and so their empires faded. What few that are left shun the academy. We have no dwarfs here. Rogues? Perhaps a handful in the sprawl, hiding in the shadows, hoarding their merits, hoping to buy a promotion to something remotely useful, ninja or assassin perhaps. But in the academy proper? No. We have no rogues here. And yet despite everything here she stands. Nala Greyward, Dwarf Rogue. Pettiest of thieves. Unpleasantest of surprises. Causer of problems. So she killed an ogre. So nobody knows how she did it. So what. Throw her in with the real prospects, with the elves and the vampires and the fighters and the magic users. See how she does in that environment--see just how long it is, before the problem that is Nala Greyward solves itself. This is Bright Battle Academy. Good luck. Discord if you're into that.
