《HEIWA ─ Inumaki T.》02 | Rika Orimoto

"I wonder what all this is..What's this?"
Inside the room, which was covered in all kinds of talismans and seals, Gojo picks up a twisted utensil on the ground. He holds it up, observing it despite the bandages covering his eyes.
". This.. Was a knife."
A boy, who sat on a chair with his head hung low, speaks up. His voice is barely coherent.
"I tried to kill myself." His eyes looked dull and empty, "But Rika got in my way.."
"You're pretty depressing, huh?" Gojo drops the knife onto the ground, "Aren't you starting at a new school today?"
'Y/N's also coming back.' The sorcerer thought, eyes on Okkotsu.
"I'm not going." Okkotsu says, "I don't want to hurt anyone ever again. So, i'm done going outside."
"But.." Gojo starts, "Won't it get lonely all by yourself? The curse you're afflicted with.. Depending on how it's used, you can use it to save people. Learn how to harness that power."
He continues,
"You're just throwing it all away. But even so, it's not too late, you know."
"What's up?"
"Hi, Y/N."
As you pick up a paper bag, you wave goodbye at Ieiri, who briefly looks up from the documents she held to watch you close the door to her infirmary. Gojo had told her to check up on you for any injuries before going back to class, and that's what she did.
'Should i be worried for them or what..' Ieiri thought as you finally left the room. She wasn't too surprised to see you unharmed but it still feels odd that you fought a first grade curse and came out unscathed.
Well, you are strong.
On the other hand..
"Why'd you call me? What do you need, ?" you ask, now beginning to walk to your class.
"Nothing. I.. Just wanted to talk." is what your cousin says, "I know you hate small talk, but please. I'm about to go insane in this house! One more day of training and i'm running away."
You chuckle, continuing your walk. You wonder if anyone would like the sweets you bought back..

"Is that so?" you ask, "Not my problem. Anyways, why don't you enroll at the kyoto prefectural.. Whatever you call it. I've been trying to make you leave the house but you won't listen."
Kamei thought about it for a bit.
"Mother has also told me about this.. I think i will.. Am i going to be safe?" she ask.
You hum as an agreement, understanding her situation.
"You get dorms, Utahime-sensei who's a much more decent teacher, and classmates. Take it or stay at home." you ask, nearing your class.
You weren't a monster- scaring Kamei out of your already horrible clan isn't something you wanted to waste energy on. She knows where she's currently living is a toxic household, but it's up to her if she wants to leave or stay.
For the most part, you hope she does leave. You've never felt better when you left for Tokyo.
"How come your dumbass never thought of this before?" you raise a brow.
"My fragile pride won't let me. I thought i'll be better off with sorcerers who has experience in our jujutsu." Kamei says with a huff, "It's in our name."
"Right." you mutter, now getting closer to your classroom.
As you were about to speak, you feel a strong presence nearby, making Kamei ask what was happening as you weren't speaking. Worried, you immediately hung up on her, sliding your phone inside your pocket.
"Crap. What is it now?!"
Confused, you rush to the tatami doors of your class, sliding it open.
"And.. Yep, that's about.."
Gojo, who was done with introductions, trails off as he notices your suddden appearance. You were in your uniform and holding a paper bag.
"Y/N!" Panda waves, and Maki does the same, a small relieved smile on her face. Confused that they weren't disturbed, you only look at Gojo for answers.
"Oh, yeah!" the man starts once again, making Okkotsu turn to him, "This is Hokori Y/N. A semi-grade one sorcerer!"
"Yeah, yeah. Now who the hell is this?" you ask, approaching the new kid. Okkotsu, now feeling nervous, backs away.
"Hey, careful." Panda says, "You might upset.. Erm.."

If glares could kill, then Okkotsu might've already been sent to heaven and back down to earth. You kept your eyes on him, as if displeased with his existence.
Something about this boy seemed odd. He looked so scared to be here yet his.. Cursed energy.. Seemed to be reeking. A bit too powerful for your taste.
This is dangerous. It's been a while since you had seen someone as a threat, no less a boy this weak looking.
"Sensei, you're on thin ice." you mutter, wondering who the hell he's been recruiting. You finally took your eyes off the boy. You throw the paper bag you had to Inumaki, whom pulls out two bags of assorted candies.
Inumaki places it on Panda's desk, not without taking a few pieces and stuffing them into his pocket.
"Hehe.. Oh well." Gojo shrugs off the threat, "So, from here on out, we'll have five people in the first-year class."
He then continues,
"For this afternoon's sorcery training, you'll pair up. Toge and Panda, you're one pair. Maki, Y/N, and Yuta, you'll be the other."
"Wait, no. I wan't to be with Toge." you say with a frown. Gojo could only smile at you, knowing that nothing can convince him to change your group.
"Ugh!" Maki shows her distaste.
'She just said 'ugh'!' Okkotsu thought.
"Let's do our best.." the boy sweatdrops, eyes briefly meeting with yours and maki. The girl raises a brow.
"You were bullied, weren't you?" Maki says as Okkotsu freezes. it wasn't even a question- she knew.
"Bull's eye, huh. I get it, you know. Even i was bullied."
You kept silent as Maki continues.
"Because of that curse, you put in this face, as if to tell people 'i'm a good person.' makes me feel sick. Why are you pretending to be a victim..?"
"You've always just lived life listlessly, haven't you? Don't go thinking you can go through the Jujutsu technical school without a goal in mind." Maki finishes.
"Maki, that's enough!" Panda says, placing a hand on Okkotsu's shoulder.
"Katsuoboshi!" inumaki huffs, looking at Maki's direction.
"Alright, alright. Shut up aleady." the girl replies.
"Sorry 'bout that. She thinks she's good at reading other people." Panda says.
"It's fine.." is what Okkotsu responds, "Because it really is the truth."
As the both thought everything was going to be fine after that, you then chime in.
"You there."
"Yes..?"
"Try to keep up." you start, "Because no one here would wait for you. To be honest, i'll be more than glad to fight you right now."
"Y/N, hey." Panda tried to stop you, yet you don't bat him an eye. Gojo could only watch, curious to see how you'll act since it's been a while since you had learned how to make friends. What would you do now to the newcomer?
"Your face irritates me. I've never felt so annoyed by looking at someone until you." you mutter, "If what Maki said was true, then you don't stand a chance here. Suck it up, Okkotsu, bullying isn't the worse that'll happen here."
Everyone in the school is crazy. Killing curses, curse users, and going on risky missions. Even as a first year you can't remember how many of the already small number of third years have passed.
Okkotsu doesn't look fit enough to be a sorcerer. Is it his power that you have yet to see? Maybe you might treat him nicer if he proves himself and his technique to be useful.
"No goal to keep you going.." you mutter, "I don't know what potential sensei saw in you except for the energy you reek."
Inumaki, worried that Okkotsu had went silent, turns to you. Knowing that he'll do a better job to calm you down, Panda and Maki could only watch.
"Okaka." he says, reaching out to grab your arm. You then place your attention to him only to see Inumaki only shake his head as if asking you to stop picking on Okkotsu. You sigh, now deciding to shut up.
"Sorry, Hokori-san." Okkotsu mutters, feeling disheartened after your small speech, "Don't worry, i'll.. I'll try."
You frown.

I hope any and all of you who read this fiction enjoy reading it just as much as I enjoy writing it, and please feel free to comment - I recognice that this will need work and will have things like typos - please feel free to point out any obvious things I forget about or miss out, as well as any typos. Also, feel free to lob suggestions my way if you have any - while I may not use them, they could very well inspire me in some way or another and help me improve this fiction, even if just by a little bit.
