Bertram and Silvia were in the roundhouse, and they had each other for company, but the other engines often were the main attraction for the Steam of Britain. "The drivers won't choose you," said Tornado, "They want big strong engines like us." "Tornado!" said Mallard, "That is enough!! All through this week, you have been boasting about how you've been new, and us just relics of the past!!!" "No I haven't," said Tornado, "I respect engines like you Mallard." "Then why do you detest Bertram and Silvia!?" "WE, are big strong engines. They are just little engines, like the tank engines." The drivers came, and saw Bertram and Silvia. "Hello you two. Would you like to come out?" "Yes," said Bertram, "It would be nice." The two former GNR engines were fired up, and they headed off to find some coaches. Mallard looked at Tornado.

At the station, they pulled up to the platform, and the passengers boarded the coaches. They whistled, and headed off along the mainline.

The coaches and passengers sang their praises, and they were happy to be appreciated. At the roundhouse, Trooper asked, "Hello, how was your day today?" "It was wonderful," said Bertram. "We even double headed on the way back."

The next day, Tornado was still boasting, and she said, "Just watch when I come flying by with the Flying Scotsman Express. That will be quite the sight." The shed master came and gave jobs to the engines. "Bertram, Silvia, I want you both shunting in the yards for today. Daniel, I want you on the Flying Scotsman today." "B-B-B-But what about me!?!" asked Tornado, "I've been pulling the Flying Scotsman for the whole week!" "The fame of the train has gotten to your smokebox. So today, you'll be on slow goods." "GOODS!?!?" exclaimed Tornado. "It's better than just sitting in the sheds collecting dust," said Duchess. "Come on Tornado," said Max, "I'll get your train ready." Tornado steamed out in a huff.

Soon, Bertram was working hard in the yards, bumping trucks with Silvia. Soon, the yard manager came up, and said, "Tornado is stuck on the in climb. She needs a banker." "I'll do it sir," said Silvia. She then headed up the line, and saw Tornado stuck on the in climb. "Come on Tornado! You're not even trying!!!" Tornado just blew off steam. Silvia then buffered up, and said, "Hello Tornado." "Oh, Silvia. It's nice to see you." "I heard that you're in need of a banker?" "N-N-N-N-No, you just happened to be here." "That's not what I heard from your crew." So, the two engines pushed and pulled, and Tornado, at the to said, "YES!!!! THANK YOU SILVIA!!!!!" "You're welcome!!!" cried Silvia.

That night, Tornado now had a small respect for the older, and smaller engines as well, but she had too much pride to admit it.
