《Alpha's Little Luna》Chapter 53

"Wow, I mean wow this is so good," Isaac says with a mouthful of food. His hair still dripping from the shower he just took. "It's been so long since I've had good food."

I smile sitting down next to him on the bed.

"Isaac," I huff out. He swallows what was left in his mouth before looking up to me. "If you don't mind me asking, how'd you lose your pack."

He nods wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, "Well," he pauses rubbing his hands together. His face shows indecisiveness as if he doesn't know if he should share the story or not.

I reach out, about to tell him that there's no pressure. Though he just shakes his head slightly, smiling. "We were living in the mountains," he starts. "But then there was a mudslide, and we had to scatter in a hurry." His wide brown eyes darting all over his lap as memories come back to him. "My sister left her favorite doll in our house, so I ran back to get it. But once I came back, everyone was gone. I tried to follow their scents, but I'm not a good tracker."

I frown, watching as he rubs his eyes with balled fists. "So that's how I got here, I've been wondering around ever since hoping to run into them."

Isaac sets his meal aside, most of it gone. Though I'm sure he's lost his appetite after retelling his story.

He lost his family, his friends. Why did they leave him? Was there another landslide causing them to have no choice but leave him? Or did they purposely leave him for some reason?

No they couldn't, he's so young. He couldn't be capable of anything bad enough to be cast out.

I shake my head clear of my thoughts. "Listen Isaac," I stutter out which makes his attention draw to me. "My mate, he knows a lot of packs. I'm sure that he could help you find them."

I'm sure once Grey gets past the whole "brought a stranger into the territory" bit, he will be willing to find Isaac's pack.

"We're such a small pack, I doubt-wait where am I? What pack is this?" He asks, realization finally setting in his eyes.

"This is the Hudson Pack," I nod watching his eyes grow wider.

He thrums his fingers across his bottom lip before biting it. "I've heard of this pack before. If I'm not mistaken the alpha is Greyson Hudson, right?"

Isaac has heard about us? And he knows who Grey is? I can't help the confused smile to twitch at my lips. "Greyson, yeah. Which is also my mate," I trail squinting my eyes.

Though when Isaac's eyes become surprised, leaning back to take a better look at me, I become even more confused. "You're the Luna?"

I nod.

He then mumbles something under his breath that I can't quite make out. I hum quietly telling him that I didn't understand. Though he just shakes his head connecting his eyes back to mine. "Nothing," he flashes a smile quickly. "I just didn't know you were the Luna. You've shown me more kindness then my own."

Smiling, I'm not sure how to respond. Sure I'm happy that he thinks I'm kind, but at the same time is his Luna that bad?

Quietly I take his plate that he set aside, standing. "I have to run downstairs. I'll be up later, but don't leave the room until I say so. Nobody knows you're here yet," I speak seriously.

We don't need Sebastian or a different pack member stumbling across him. That could end badly. Very badly.

"Got it," he then whispers as I close the door quietly.

Taking a deep breath out I turn around letting go of the handle. "Did you sleep in the guest room last night?"

Sucking in a sharp breath my eyes shoot open seeing Seb eye me suspiciously. "I would think that being in yours and Grey's room would be more comforting."

He crosses his arms raising an eyebrow. "Y-Yeah," I scratch the back of my head nervously. "I mean it is, it's just that I saw a bug in there. So I went to a different room." I trail quietly not buying my own lie.

"A bug?" He scrunches his eyebrows dropping his arms back to his sides.

Taking steps away from the door I try to usher Seb back downstairs. "Yeah, it was big and I didn't want to mess with it. Let's go eat breakfast," I rush out pushing on his shoulder.

When he doesn't budge my eyes grow wide with panic. His eyes shoot down to me narrowing, he looks to Isaac's plate that I'm currently holding.

Shit. Oh shit.

He looks back to the door, "Who's here Willa?" He grumbles storming towards the door.

I set the plate down in a rush, standing in front of him. "Sebastian go down stairs, nobody is here. It's just-"

"Then why do I smell their scent in there Willa, and on you. Who is it?" His eyes start burning yellow.

I suck in a breath when he pushes me out of the way, and clicks open the door.

Instantly growls erupt from Sebastian as I run back into the room.

Isaac is pushed to the corner of the bed trembling, as Sebastian stalks closer to him.

Shit, this isn't how I wanted Sebastian to find out. I had a plan. It wasn't suppose to go down like this.

My skin tingles with nerves and anger, my eyes blink to their own gold color. In a rush a push Sebastian back making his back slam into the wall.

"Willa, he is a rogue how co-"

A growl rumbling in my throat cuts him off. "Just listen to me," I start raising my voice on instinct to get my voice across.

"He is 17 Sebastian, only 17 years old. He lost his pack, and he's been abandoned for months all by himself." My eyes fade back to their original color as my voice softens. "Do you expect me to leave him for dead?"

"That would've been the correct way," he grounds his teeth together.

His eyes never meet mine, instead they stay planted on Isaac. He stares at him like he's a prey and Sebastian's ready to strike at any moment.

"Sebastian he has no one. How would you feel if we abandoned you and left you for dead?" Finally his eyes glance to me softening slightly. "Just please, give him a chance until we can find his pack again."

He closes his eyes rubbing a hand over his face. I can practically see the gears turning in his head. Weighing the pros and cons. The right and wrong.

"But Greyson-"

"I will tell him once he gets back. Isaac is my responsibility. If I get in trouble I won't drag you down with me." I clarify to convince him.

Making sure I wasn't going to take him down with me was probably his most conflicted point.

He just wanted to cover his own ass.

Seb looks back over to Isaac before shaking his head. "He doesn't make contact with any other member of the pack besides us two. I don't want to freak anyone else out." He tells me sternly which makes me roll my eyes.

"That's what I was planning on, at least until Greyson knows about him." I nod grumbling under my breath.

Finally I look back to Isaac who has relaxed physically on the bed. He's not trembling, and his eyes aren't wide anymore with fear.

Sighing I grab Sebastian's arm ushering him out of the room to let Isaac breathe easily for a little.

Though once I close the door Seb rips his arm out of my grasp. Creasing my eyebrows I watch as he stomps away from me. "If he does anything, anything wrong I'll be the first one to kill him."

Before I can say anything, or even stop him he's already running down the stairs, grumbling angry words under his breath.

As the sun starts to deplete under the horizon I sigh watching as my breath becomes visible in the cold air.

In front of me sits a small pond somewhere in the territory. I've never been here before.

Ice chunks float around making little splashing sound emit from the water.

"Willa," suddenly a voice whispers behind me. My head whips to the sudden sound.

My shoulders relax when I see Isaac. His head tilted, eyebrows together. "Why are you out here?" He asks lowly.

Shrugging I look back to the water. "I don't know?" I question myself. "I don't even remember coming here," I start to piece together.

Why am I here?

Slowly I turn around watching as Isaac comes to stand next to me.

"I saw this pond earlier, when I was running around inside the pack," he starts lowly.

The silence is deafening. It sends chills down my back in an eery fashion.

Nothing seems right.

"Why are you here now?" Words fumble from my mouth as I pull my jacket tighter around me.

I'm not even that cold.

"Because you are," he turns to me smirking.

I turn to him mimicking his movements. I open my mouth to continue quizzing him. Though before I can, he grabs my biceps with force.

"Don't trust strangers Willa," he laughs before pushing me into the frozen pond.

With a gasp I fling open my eyes. Instantly I grab my head cringing at the pain radiating around it.

But I quickly realize where I am exactly.

Standing between the door frame and outside, I look around with wide eyes.

I slept walked out of my bed and to the door.

What the hell?

"Willa," I jump in the air twisting my body. Still jumpy from past events, I see Seb looking at me confusingly. "What the hell?" He questions coming closer to me.

"I-" I pause looking around. My mind still foggy and disoriented. I'm not sure what is even happening.

"You were so deep into sleep you wouldn't answer me when I saw you walking. Is this a Luna thing?"

"Why would you think it was a Luna thing? I just had a weird dream."

"Then why are your eyes still glowing?"

"They are?" Hurriedly I rub my eyes. But then I remember the pond in my dream. Do we have one or was I imagining the whole thing? "Is there a pond in the territory?" I ask quickly looking up to him.

"Willa your eyes are still glowing and you want to know if we-"

"Just answer me."

He groans crossing his arms. "Yes, right on the territory line. Why?"

But my attention is quickly pulled away from Seb as I look to the stairs.

"What are you guys doing?" Isaac yawns rubbing his eyes as he stops halfway down.

I can't help but notice the instant coldness radiating off of Seb.

I also can't help but stiffen after what happened in my dream, and what he did.

"Nothing, just getting water. Go back to bed Isaac," I quirk a smile on the side of my lip. God i hope my eyes aren't flowing anymore.

Without objection or even a single word, he walks back upstairs. It's not until I hear his door close, that I begin talking again.

"Just wondering. But I'm fine, and I'm going to go to bed now." I rush out my words trying to rush past him.

But he grabs my arm stopping me. "Come sleep in my room, you get the bed, I'll get the couch."

"No, I'm fi-"

"Willa come on. Greyson being gone is affecting you, more then you want to admit. At least in this case you won't be alone." He starts ushering me up the stairs. "And plus I want to make sure you don't sleep walk anywhere else."

"I bet your bed is gross though," I grumble complying.

"The sheets are clean, promise. Keep your mind out of the gutter, I'm a saint."

Finally, a small smile starts to form on my lips.
