《Alpha's Little Luna》Chapter 50

I bite my lip looking away from the girl before me. But as quickly as I look away, I reluctantly look back down at her. Then, cocking my head to the side.

Koda uses a stick to move her hair away from her face. "Her hair," he pauses looking away. His nose scrunches in disgust as he buries it in his elbow. "I think it was dyed," he then looks up to me. "There's brown dye stained to her scalp, like it was hurriedly done."

Pulling my trembling hand to my lips, I gasp quietly.

Quickly Greyson's arms snake around me, pulling me into his chest. I hold on to his arms tightly, feeling his muscles tense along with mine.

"And her eyes," he pauses again dropping the stick. "Fuck, this is going to be disgusting," he mumbles.

He reaches forward placing his hand on the side of her face. "Koda, what're you doing?" I whisper watching him cringe with my words.

Quickly I hide my eyes behind Greyson's arm as I hear the sickening sound of his fingers digging into her lifeless eyes.

He pulls me tighter against him, kissing my forehead.

"They're contacts," he gags. "She has green contacts in her eyes." Peeking my eye out, I see him holding the sickening item between his finger tips.

He throws it to the ground, looking up to Sebastian after making eye contact with me.

For once Sebastian hasn't said one word. I see him opening his mouth, but closing it quickly after. It's like he doesn't know how to respond.

I don't know how to respond either.

"So," Grey speaks up for the first time. "She was made to look like Willa." His voice rumbles against my ear as I shake my head not wanting to believe it.

Why me?

Unless, "Bahee." I whisper looking up. "Do you think he's trying to send a message? Like make a girl look like me, kill her, and leave her here so we would eventually find her? Just all of that as a threat to me-since you know-I pissed him off."

"He'd be completely stupid to do that though," Koda stands wiping his hands on his shorts.

"That's the point, so this is completely plausible," Grey tells them resting his chin on the top of my head. "He's done stupid and impulsive things in the past. He's capable to do something like this."

Sighing, I tighten my arms around Greyson, stealing a glance at the girl.

She died to send a message.

To send a message to me.

"Cross Bahee again, and we're dead." That's what he's trying to portray.

"Grey," I call quietly. He hums quietly telling me that he's listening. "Can we reach out to all of the packs from the festival and see if they're missing a girl? I want to give her a proper burial, even if we don't find which pack she belonged to."

"That's a great idea," he nods.

Just then I watch Sebastian grab an extra jacket from a compartment and place it over her face.

He stays crouched looking at her for another second. "No need," he says quietly. "She's apart of Bahee's pack, I talked to her at the festival."

Koda's head snaps to him, frowning.

"Seb," I blink tilting my head. "You met her?"

He nods looking back to me. "She was pretty quiet. But she did tell me is that she disliked Bahee being her alpha. And that just gives us another reason to believe that he was the one who did this."

Seb turns his back to her, and I look away as well.

I don't want to look at her any longer knowing that part of the fault for her death is on me.

Burying my head into Greyson's chest, he tightens his grip. "Did she tell you her name?" Grey asks making his voice muffled against my ear.

"No," Seb replies quietly.

Grey hums. "Koda and I will have to ask around when we go to her pack. We'll try to find her family and let them know what happened." He sighs, "Until then you two bury her a proper grave, while I try to organize a meeting with the leading pack members and inform them that the Lunar pack is now a threat, not an ally."

I look up to him quickly, hearing his words. Not an ally?

"We don't even have proof that it was Bahee," I whisper.

He gives one last look at Seb and Koda, before he ushers me to start walking back towards the house. "There's too many coincidences. This has to be Bahee."

After walking back to the house, Grey instantly goes into his office. He pulled me along not wanting me out of his sight for a while.

Which is fine, but I'm bored now. I'm not doing anything, but spin in my chair mindlessly after being in here for hours.

I play music from a speaker quietly, moving my lips to each word.

The ceiling swirls above me as I kick my foot off the ground to keep my speed in tact.

"Willa," Grey says quietly. My head perks and I settle my feet on the ground stopping myself. I have to blink a few times to make Greyson's face stop morphing and twisting.

He smiles biting the end of his pen.

I stifle my own laugh, grabbing onto the desk. Pushing my legs under it, Grey shakes his head before looking down to his papers.

"What if-" he pauses looking around the room before looking back at me. "Instead of making this a huge deal, let's make Bahee think we're still by his side. Tell our pack one thing and theirs another."

"Smart," I hum. "Just act like nothing is wrong the next time you see him."

"Exactly," he taps his pen on the table a couple times before a knock sounds at the door.

Before Greyson can get up, I stand to go open the door. Only to smile when Faye stands outside of it.

Quickly I go in for a hug, I swear she hasn't been at the pack house for ages. "I missed you," I squeeze tightly.

"I missed you too, girly." She giggles happily before pulling away.

But then I see all of the bags she has surrounding her. I raise my eyebrow taking a step back.

"I just came to say goodbye," her smile falls into a saddened frown.

"Goodbye?"

My words come out more sad then I wanted. I mean, she just got here. Why is she leaving again?

She smiles weakly, looking at the front door before back to me. "I'm the new Luna of the Lightwood pack, Willa. I have to be apart of their pack now," she trails. "Which means I have leave this one."

I take another step back feeling myself frown deeply. I guess I never thought about that until now.

She is an Alpha's mate. She is a Luna now. Which inevitably means she has to joint their pack.

But I don't want her to.

"Now I'll have to deal with four boys by myself," I whine holding onto her hands.

She chuckles lightly, only for the front door to open wide.

Eli is wearing a bright smile as he struts through the door. Grey quickly stands, walking beside me while Eli comes in.

Dropping Faye's hands I step back next to Greyson.

"Greyson," Eli smiles widely grabbing Grey's forearm in a greeting. Faye is quick to wrap her arms around Eli, which only makes him look down to her. "I'm sure we'll be seeing each other a lot more with upcoming meetings. Especially after what you found this morning," his smile finally falters for the first time.

Grey puts his hand on my back as he mentions this morning. He rubs soft circles for comfort.

"Are you two willing to come back in the next few days?" Grey asks seeming unsure though they both look to us with light expressions.

"I think we could make it work," Faye finishes for Eli.

I can't help but smile. They've known each other for such little time, yet they're already acting like they've known each other for years.

They're perfect for each other.

After hugging Faye goodbye-Grey does the same-Eli pulls me into a massive hug of his own.

Once they're about to leave, Grey cups a hand around his mouth yelling to them. "Be cautious! Bahee is dangerous, don't take any chances!"

Eli nods before ducking into the car.

"Don't worry," I whisper looking up to him. "They know what they're doing."

Now I just have to find comfort in my own words.
