《Alpha's Little Luna》Chapter 43

Groaning, I turn to my side. I squint from the light radiating from Greyson's drawing desk. The constant sound of pencil scratching paper is keeping me awake.
Greyson is finally happy with his work for his parent's anniversary, and now he won't stop. He's too on track to stop.
"Grey," I whine flinging my arm on the bed. "Come lay down with me."
I hear him chuckle softly, turning his head to look at me momentarily. "Don't wait up for me, go ahead and sleep," he smiles. He instantly starts back on his drawing, only make me clench my eyes to the pencil scratch.
"That's kind of impossible when all I hear is that," I tell him referring to that inferior noise.
He sighs turning in his chair. "Do you want me to go in a different room?"
Grey smirks raising his eyebrow, watching as I roll my eyes.
Staring at him, I pat the bed.
This has become a nightly routine lately. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing that he's finally gotten into a better head space. But he still needs to get some sleep at the same time.
I smirk victoriously as he sighs, watching him flick off his lamp.
He takes his time walking to the bed, shaking his head in the process. "I can never say no to you," he chuckles lightly.
I run my hand up his arm once he lays down on the bed, pulling him closer to me. I smile pecking a kiss onto his neck.
When I pull away Grey grabs my chin keeping me in place. It only takes a second for him to press his lips against my own.
He smiles softly, pecking them a few more times before fully pulling away. I relay his expression before snuggling my head under his chin, wrapping my arm around him.
This time is by far my favorite part of the day. It's so peaceful laying in each other's presence. Usually we're silent until one of us falls asleep first. Though sometimes we just talk, about anything really.
If I could stay in bed all day with him right next to me, I would.
I find him falling asleep first. Quite quickly I might add.
Smirking to myself I hear rain starting to come down outside. I love when it storms.
There's something about looking into the pitch black room and seeing a flash of lighting ignite it. Or how a loud crack of thunder spikes an adrenaline rush before you calm.
While I sit and listen to the showers pelting on the windows, I hear the bedroom door creak open.
I stiffen to the sound of slow footsteps echo in the bedroom. With my back to the door, I can't see what or who it is.
I push Greyson slightly trying to get him to wake up as it sounds like there's more than one person entering the room.
"Greyson someone's in the room," I try to call out in his head so the intruders don't realize I'm awake.
They whisper quietly among themselves making it hard to hear what they're saying.
My heart thunders against my chest watching silhouettes walk to Greyson's side of the bed looking down to him.
"Greyson! Wake up!" I scream to him.

Lightning flashes through the window. My eyes widen seeing people with white wolf masks tied around their heads.
When one of the sets of eyes snap to mine, he becomes alert. The lightning strike igniting my vision of them, and theirs on me. "She's awake!" One of them screams.
His alert causes everyone to spring into action.
I sit up quickly trying to clamber out of bed, but before I can get anywhere multiple sets of hands grab onto me.
"Greyson!" I shout watching as they do the same to him.
He looks to me as they tie my hands behind my back. I kick and scramble trying to get out of their hold. I count a total of three people wrangling me, even more holding Greyson down.
I feel a growl rumble deep in my throat as a sack gets thrown over my head. The ruckus too loud for me to pull out any specific voice, any words at all.
My breathing becomes rapid as I get thrown over a shoulder. I kick furiously as they start running.
Howls come from the kidnappers as if they're mocking us.
"Let me go!" I yell going to the last resort.
How did they get inside the house without any of the guards alerting us? How has nobody in the house heard the screams and shouts?
I smell the woods surrounding us as we've been running for a while now. Every once in a while I'll struggle and shout, but I don't see the point anymore.
If nobody heard us in the house, nobody will hear us out here.
I wonder where they took Greyson, and what they're going to do to us.
"Here's good," a muffled voice speaks up. I raise my head to the sound.
Before I register what's happening I get thrown to the ground. My butt hits the grass ridden floor with a thud. "Woah," one of them drawls out. "Precious cargo, buddy."
I turn in the direction of the voice. The voice was muffled because of the mask, but I know that voice.
Coughing when the bag gets taken off my head, I look up. Four men and one woman stand in front of me.
I look frantically between all of them, instinctively scooting back.
The rain slowly starts to come down again, thunder clapping in the background.
Flinching when one of the men step up to me, they start to untie the rope surrounding my ankles. When they look up to me, lightning lights up the night sky.
I momentarily see a pair of eyes through the mask-one blue and one brown. "Koda?" I question looking closer.
He chuckles as he pulls the rope off my skin.
I look in the crowd again as the lightning starts striking rapidly.
That voice that I knew from before, "Sebastian?" I ask the others, watching as masks are slowly pulled from their faces.
Seb smirks as my eyes look to him. Only then do I notice the other two guys are guards. The women is a friend of Faye's that she brings around at times.
"What the hell are you guys doing?"
Koda walks around me to get the ropes from my wrists. "It's the eve of Harvest Fest," he states simply.

"So? That doesn't explain why you kidnapped Grey and I." I tell them annoyed.
"So, we're going to play a little game," Seb smirks crouching in front of me. "This is the first Harvest Festival that our Alpha has a Luna." I raise my eyebrows bringing my hands in front of me as soon as they're untied.
"Ever since our pack was established by Greyson's ancestors, they've played this game with the newly mated Alpha and Luna. It's called "the hunt." Koda states behind my head before stepping out in front of me.
"Which is?" I stand, crossing my arms.
"It's similar to the human game of hide and seek," Koda continues. "Except this time, you're both hiding and seeking."
I tilt my head as I watch everyone grow devilish smirks.
"Us five-and the five with Greyson-will be wolves hunting you two while you're still on two feet." He smiles, "While we do that, you and Greyson will have to try and find each other."
"Greyson didn't know about this?"
Koda shakes his head, "Nah. This is a tradition passed down between the Beta's."
I shift from one foot to another tossing around their words in my head. "So what happens if you find me before I find Grey?"
Seb shrugs his shoulders, turning around. "Well, you'll just have to wait and see." Everybody else follows his lead and walks away from me.
"You have five minutes to hide from us-and seek Greyson-until we're coming after you. And no linking Greyson." Koda shouts over his shoulder. "Good luck!"
I sigh watching their figures slowly walk into the darkness. It's only then does the rain start pouring down.
Just wonderful.
This is so stupid, I am tired, and I don't fancy getting chased by ten different wolves tonight.
I flick my wet hair out of my face before I start jogging.
Looking around there's nothing, but trees in sight.
Smelling the air, all I can smell is the rain.
How am I supposed to find Greyson in this?
I guess the plan is to run around aimlessly until we cross each other's path.
Starting to pick up the pace my head snaps around hearing a twig snap. Either the five minutes is up, or that's spontaneously Greyson.
I slow my steps looking over to where the noise came from. This may or may not be a stupid decision.
I sniff the air once again, I can barely weed out a scent. Though I start sprinting when I realize it's definitely not Grey's scent.
A howl sounds making my eyes widen hearing a wolf running behind me.
Shit.
My breaths huff out, shaking my head from the pain of the rain pelting my face.
Taking a sharp turn I try to get the wolf to lose my track and scent.
I know all of them are friends and I'm not in any real danger, but it's not like I want to lose.
Stopping behind a tree after many twists and turns. I heave out breaths, trying to make them as silent as possible. I put a hand over my mouth to suppress them as I try to listen for surrounding noises.
My head snaps to the side once I hear another howl though it's not near me.
Sighing in relief I take my hand off my mouth walking out from behind the tree.
But if the whole world is against me, glowing gold eyes blink in front of me. I hold up my hands as low growls emanates from deep in their throat.
They stalk closer to me slowly, and just as they get close enough I try to turn and run.
Before I can get anywhere I'm pounced on. My shoulders are quickly pushed to the ground. It only takes me a second to recognize that it's Faye. She must've been apart of the other five that went with Grey.
She howls giving off her position before looking back down to me. "Faye," I grunt struggling under her grasp.
I hear footsteps start to surround us and before I really have much time to think about it, I retaliate.
Hoisting my legs up I hurriedly kick under Faye's stomach making her roll off of me.
Scrambling to my feet, I make a run for it. Faye growls behind me, sprinting right behind my feet.
Running as fast as my feet can, I try to lose her. It's kind of difficult when she's a wolf and I'm not.
Doing the same thing as before I take turns and go in circles trying to get away. I keep hearing more and more pairs of feet surrounding me.
This isn't very good.
I go to take another turn. Once my body shifts, I'm taken to the ground.
I cringe feeling my back hitting the mossy floor.
Looking up to see which wolf caught me this time, I find blue eyes smirking down to me. "I caught you," Greyson says smugly.
Sighing in relief, I feel all of the worry being lifted off my chest.
He traps me in by putting his hands on both sides of my head.
Rolling my eyes I grab his neck bringing him down to me.
I lay a kiss on his lips which receives a a low purr to rumble in his chest.
"You know how hard you were to track?" Grey chuckles pulling away. "You kept running in circles and Koda was following me the whole time."
I open my mouth to say something, but I'm cut off by a bunch of laughter.
Looking back I see the ten wolves walking towards us, though they've all shifted back. "We almost had you guys!" Faye exclaims.
Grey stands, grabbing my hand in the process to hoist me up.
"Not even close, you guys were too slow," Grey teases pulling me closer to his side.
"Yeah right. I was tracking you the whole time!" Koda defends.
Everyone erupts in low chuckles as we start walking back to the house. The rain finally stops, and I can start to see the almost full moon in the sky.
"What're are we doing now?" I ask lowly.
"We're going to go get drunk!" Seb shouts causing everyone to cheer.
I smile softly, but then I start to realize that tomorrow is the festival. The Lunar pack will be there, and they're nothing but trouble.
Everyone's excited for tomorrow night. It's full of tradition and unity. But why do I have a feeling that Alpha Bahee is going to ruin everything.
