《Alpha's Little Luna》Chapter 42

"Do I really have to wear white?" I whine watching as Faye runs over with even more white dresses clutched in her arms.

She giggles hanging them up on the wall of the dressing room. "Yes, it's tradition."

Giving her a groan I sit on the stool watching as she goes and retrieves more articles.

Why white?

Putting my head against the wall, I close my eyes.

After Grey brought me breakfast, Penelope and Liam joined us.

"Have you guys bought your outfits for the Harvest festival?" Penelope asks us while I take a bite out of my toast.

My eyebrows scrunch as I look over to Grey, his head thrown back as he groans. "I completely forgot," he mumbles.

"Harvest festival?" I look to Penelope and Liam sitting on the opposite couch. They smile softly at my cluelessness.

Liam sits back crossing his legs. "Greyson," he smirks.

Grey glares at him from across the room knowing that Liam wants him to talk. "It's hard to explain," he waves his hand. But Liam just clears his throat raising an eyebrow.

Now I see where Grey gets his stubbornness.

Grey sighs in defeat looking over to me. "On the tenth full moon of the year we hold a Harvest Festival." He starts, crossing his arms over his chest. "All of our allied packs come and catch up with each other."

"So when is this?" I ask setting my breakfast aside.

Grey sighs, closing his eyes. "Next week."

My eyebrows rise, oblivious about this whole thing. What will we do during it? How many people are coming?

"I have everything under control," Grey pauses. "Mostly."

"Greyson, what do you need to handle still?" Penelope asks quietly.

"The packs. We may be allied with all the packs coming, but that doesn't mean everyone will get along. Not to mention the Lunar pack will be there." Greyson rushes out. "I already told the Alpha of the Lightwood pack not attend since they're in a territory stand off at the moment."

For reassurance I lay my head on his shoulder grabbing his hand that was resting on my leg. "Our territory, our rules." I whisper smugly. I didn't even realize I said it out loud until everyone starting laughing quietly.

"Don't worry. If Alpha Bahee is wise, he won't start anything. Especially surrounded by our closest allies." Penelope soothes.

Grey nods collecting our words for a moment. His eyes moving back and forth as he thinks.

I watch him seeing what he does next.

Though he just gives a small smile standing up.

My hand falls from his as he grabs my plate. "Lets gather the others to get outfits, yeah?" He tells me before walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah," I whisper as he's too far away to hear.

"Willa," Liam calls making my head snap over. "He's lucky to have you," he catches me off guard as he gives me a warm smile.

It's almost identical to Grey's.

Smiling back I give him a firm nod. I open my mouth to say something back, but Grey comes rushing back taking my hand. "We should get going."

Pulling me off the couch I look over my shoulder to the two smiling faces. "Thank you guys," I tell them until I'm pulled out of the door.

"I got more!" Faye squeals coming back into my dressing room. I sit up straight, shaking off the memory from this morning.

Sighing, I raise my brow to the many dresses that are before me. "Did you even have time to pick out things for yourself? This is like all the white dresses this store has."

Chuckling she puts a hand on her chin.

She looks at all the dresses she pulled in, but then her face lights up. "Mind if I try this on?" She asks picking one off the rack.

I flick my hand in the air dismissively. "Please, take any you want." Smiling, I watch as she looks over the one in her hand.

"This is fine, be right back," she giggles running out to the room next door.

In a couple of minutes she comes back and my mouth drops. She giggles twirling in a circle, "You look amazing."

I've never seen her wear white and there's no surprise that she looks absolutely stunning.

The short dress flaunts her long tan legs.

There's a deep neckline, which is the definition of Faye.

It's thin strapped which shows off her colorful tattoo sleeve, adding life to the plain color of the dress.

She tightens the bow around her waist before looking up to me. "You like it?" She questions.

"Yes," I tell her like it's obvious. "It's perfect."

She smiles stepping in the mirror for a second. "Maybe I should start wearing white more often," she laughs pushing back her long black hair.

Nodding, I give her a smile.

"Now it's your turn to find the perfect dress." She smiles widely pushing my shoulder slightly. "I'll be waiting outside your room, expecting to see each one."

Rolling my eyes she struts out letting me close the door behind her.

After a long, long time of trying on dresses, none of them look quite right.

It doesn't help that Faye has something to say about every dress I walk out with.

"Faye, can we just go back home? This is starting to become aggravating," I laugh bitterly.

She shakes her head running over with another dress in her hands. "No," she frowns shoving the dress in my hands. "This one, I know this one is it. Try it on," she shoves me into the room.

I grimace closing the door.

I hope this is the last one.

Sliding the dress onto my body I zip the back, smoothing the skirt before looking up.

Surprisingly, my eyebrows shoot up at the sight of me in the mirror.

I'm not a dress person, but this dress would make me one.

It's long, which I wasn't expecting to like.

It has a deep neckline as well, but this has gold accents all across the top. Tilting my head to the side, I turn to the side.

Looking myself up and down a small smile twitches on my lips. "Let's see!" Faye yells.

Smiling I open the door stepping out for her. She instantly claps her hands together, "That's it. That's the dress Willa!" She giddily moves her legs before standing up, enveloping me in a hug.

She pulls back quickly holding my arms, looking at the dress. "You look hot!" She yells too loudly.

"Shh," I laugh. "Should I get it?" I ask in a hushed tone.

"Yes, yes, yes!" She giggles pulling me into one last hug before shooing me off to change back so we can pay.

With bags in each of our hands we walk out of the store into the middle of the mall.

People are scattered all around as Faye leads me to where everyone else is. They had to find their own outfits too.

We walk into one of the stores they said they'd be in. Once we can't find them browsing the racks, we peek inside the dressing room.

I smile seeing Koda step back in his outfit to look in the mirror. Seb and Grey are slumped against the chairs, each with their own bags.

"You look sexy Koda," Faye smirks strutting into the room. Her heels clicking against the tile floor as she goes to stand next to him.

He shrugs, "I don't know."

Grey's head perks up as he sees Faye, instantly looking over to me. I smile giving him a small wave, "Koda you've been trying on the same thing all day, just at different stores." Seb groans slumping in defeat.

Koda narrows his eyes turning back to the mirror. He does look very good in his outfit.

He turns slightly in the mirror looking at the dark button up that rests under a pure white suit jacket.

"The pants though," he groans. "I don't want white pants, but then I don't think there's enough white."

"I think dark grey pants would look good," I speak up which earns everyone's eyes to look to me. "I'm no expert on the Harvest Fest, but I think your suit jacket is enough white."

"Yeah, I agree." Grey tells Koda.

"Of course you do," Seb mumbles under his breath. I barely catch his words before Grey slaps the back of his head.

"Koda, get it. It looks so good on you." Faye tells him putting a hand on his shoulder.

My eyes venture from of the two glaring boys and onto her. Koda looks unsure, but then that look slowly morphs into a smile. "If you guys think this is fine, then I guess I'll get it." He nods to himself before stepping into the dressing room closing the door.

Rolling my eyes, I watch Seb and Grey erupt in a silent rejoice.

Looking out of the window, the music hums quietly as conversation breaks out behind me.

I roll my eyes as the three start arguing about something, something that's probably pointless.

Grey chuckles quietly, resting his hand on my thigh while the other rests on the wheel.

I look to his hand momentarily smiling softly before looking up to him. His eyes snapping around the road watching his surroundings.

Well that's until he looks over to me.

"You're staring," he smirks.

"Yeah, and what's new?" Teasing him I squint my eyes, staring at him more intensely.

Grey rolls his eyes.

Smiling fondly I give him one last look before looking to the road.

My eyes dart around to the greenery surrounding us, deep in the forest.

I've always loved the forest, it's always been a comfort of mine. It only now makes sense to why I enjoyed it so much in the past.

My eyes dart to the side, my breath hitching. I furrow my eyebrows watching the shrubbery move violently next to the road.

What was that?

Raising my hand slowly, I make sure my eyes stay on the moving shrubs-If I look away I may lose it-laying my hand softly on Grey's shoulder catching his attention.

"Gre-" I try to get out, but a shocked gasp leaves instead.

Feeling my body get jerked forward, an arm wraps around my chest pushing me back against the seat.

The brakes of the car screech as a flash of fur sprints across the road, in front of our car.

Squeezing my eyes shut, I grab onto Greyson's arms keeping me stable.

We come to a stop, my head retreating back quickly to the seat.

I drop my mouth, slightly panting.

Even though I only saw a flash of the creature, I knew exactly what it was. "Who was that?" I ask remembering the wolf that darted from the bushes.

Grey glances behind us to the others. I find myself doing the same. All of their faces mimicking my own.

"Whoever it was, they weren't from our pack."

"How do you know?" I ask becoming anxious.

He hurriedly steps on the gas swinging around corners faster than usual. "The guard just linked that Alpha Bahee is here," he growls lowly.

Greyson hurries and parks the car as he storms towards the house. His body is completely rigid and stiff. Shoulders broad, fists clenched.

I run up to him trying to fall into step with his pace. Which is much faster than my legs can keep up with.

"You're coming to the meeting," he glances down to me once I catch up. "I want you to be there."

I take a deep breath out following him inside.

What do they want? They always come at the most random times and not to mention these visits have been more frequent lately.

What're they hoping to achieve?

We stop right outside the doors to the office. I grab Grey's bicep to keep him in place as I make him turn towards me.

I frown once I see his eyebrows in a worried line, his muscles tense under my hand.

He's nervous.

"Hey," I say quietly placing my hand on his cheek. "Everything's going to be okay."

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous as well, because I am. It's taking me so much restraint to not show how terrified I am of walking into that room.

But I have to be strong, I'm the Luna. I need to take responsibility for once and be strong. Greyson needs someone strong by his side.

Grey grabs my hand off his cheek, kissing my palm lightly. He nods slowly before linking our fingers.

I follow his movements as he slowly opens the door.

Here goes nothing.

Taking a deep breath I follow behind Grey, his body blocking the view from others.

Whatever small talk was happening, it stops as soon as we enter the room. I'm shocked when Koda runs in behind us, shutting the door.

I give him a wide eyed look, his eyes softening in sympathy.

"Alpha Hudson, you took your time to get here," a foreign voice snaps. My attention being pulled away from Koda.

I feel my shaky breath release, Alpha Hudson.

"Alpha Bahee," Grey nods his head, his body still hiding mine. "My apologies, we were out gathering for the festival."

"We?" He raspy voice mumbles. "Now that I think about it, there is an unfamiliar scent. Is this your mate I smell?"

Greyson squeezes my hand at the mention of me. He peers over his shoulder giving me eye contact for a second.

He nods his head towards the chair, ushering me to go sit. Which I follow his lead to them.

Finally I step out from behind his back as he pulls out the chair for me to sit in. Him and Koda quickly sitting on both sides of me.

"This is my mate, Willa." Greyson explains quickly. "Now please tell me, why are you here?" He challenges, moving on to the pressing topic.

My eyes widen at Greyson's sudden remark. If we want on their good side, doing that definitely won't help.

"Greyson," I scold quietly in his head making him turn to me.

"They came uninvited, so I'm not going to give them any respect."

Bahee raises his eyebrows chuckling coldly. He grabs a pen laying on the table twiddling it in between his fingers. "I'm mad, Greyson."

Instantly Grey's fists clench, his lip curling in disgust ever so slightly.

I bite my lip knowing how much disrespect that sentence held towards Greyson. You never call an Alpha from a different pack by their first name. It's like you're looking down on them.

"Why's that?" Grey grounds out between his teeth.

Bahee smirks, his round face looking between the three of us. He scratches his cleanly shaven head before setting his hand back on the table. "I just got word that you told the Lightwood pack to not attend the festival."

Greyson scrunches his eyebrows leaning forward, "This is our territory," he motions his finger between him and I. "I'm not going to allow a war to break out when your two packs collide."

Greyson shakes his head sitting his forearms on the table. "What's the fun in that?" Bahee chuckles showing off his silver front tooth. I shiver feeling uncomfortable sitting in front of him.

His Beta laughs along with him though he doesn't dare to say a word.

Much like what Koda and I are doing right now.

"There was no need to call an unscheduled meeting for this," Greyson presses his finger to the table with each word for emphasis.

But when Bahee snaps out of his laughing fit suddenly, his face goes completely blank. I'm taken back when his expression turns stoic and cold. "Hudson, we need to come to an agreement. We need more territory and the Lightwoods are in the way of that."

"Bahee-" Greyson starts but he gets interrupted.

"I've already heard your words. I want to hear your mate's," he speaks up suddenly.

I stiffen, my shoulders rising with the feeling of everyone's eyes on me. My words? I have no words.

"Don't be shy," Bahee coos. I can practically feel the anger radiating off of Greyson. "Come on girl, no need to be afraid," he chuckles like he's talking to a puppy.

I feel myself roll my jaw in an annoyed motion. Oh, how much I want to tell him that we have no intent on giving him what he wants. How we do not like him or his pack. How we would end this alliance with them in a heart beat if it comes down to it.

But I don't.

I keep my composure, for once.

Play it dumb, don't say something you shouldn't.

Taking a deep breath, I clasp my fingers under the table. "My mate has all of this under control Alpha Bahee. I'm not educated enough to give you proper input, but I'm sure if you need information Greyson and Koda can give you it."

I finish with a small smirk, feeling Greyson grab my hand I look up to the asshole Alpha.

His lips set in a straight line, clearly not amused.

But when I see the two boys sitting next to me suppress their smirks, I almost lose my composure at the laughter bubbling in my throat.

"Very well," Bahee states pushing up from his chair. "Since you don't want to cooperate, we will leave." He huffs out a breath, "But because of today we will have another meeting, on my territory. The women stays here since she's not educated enough. But for the two of you," he points to Greyson and Koda as I bite my tongue trying not to say something I shouldn't. "I expect you to be on my territory a week after the Festival."

Greyson stands immediately pushing Bahee away from the door with one hand. Koda and I stand with him, both of us on edge.

Greyson's eyebrows are drawn together not satisfied with how this meeting is ending. Bahee just smirks taking a step forward, his face a centimeter from Greyson.

"Alpha, I suggest you don't do that." His eyes flitting up from the floor to look at him. But when his eyes slowly land on me, I freeze. "I'm not having a good day. You wouldn't want me to do something I'll regret later."

My veins become cold as his eyes narrow on me before he looks away. He pushes past Greyson, walking out of the door. The rest of his pack following close behind.

When the door closes Grey turns to look at me, Koda grabbing my arm for comfort.

I didn't realize I was shaking until Koda's warm hand snaked around my skin.

I messed with Alpha Bahee, and he let it be known that I shouldn't mess with him again.
