《Alpha's Little Luna》Chapter 39

Taking a deep breath I peer up at the window above my head. It shows the rising sun, starting to create light in this dark and cold room.
I haven't moved since I slid down the wall. I've stayed planted on the ground, reflecting on what just happened.
It's been hours, but I haven't had the energy to get up and move to the bed.
Amara is silent. She hasn't made a sound since Greyson ran out of the room.
I can't tell if I should count it as something I should be worried about, or not.
Tying my hair up, I curl my knees to my chest drawing mindless circles into the flooring. No matter how hard I try not to compare, I can't stop myself.
When Greyson was yelling at me, all I could picture was my step father.
I shake my head softly getting the thought out of my head. Greyson is nothing like Darren.
Stop thinking like that.
While I'm continuing my finger along the ridges in the floor, I hear the door click open.
My head shoots up, eyes wide.
A figure walks in, followed by two other figures.
I expect Greyson, but he's no where in sight. Only Faye, Seb, and Koda come in.
"Wow, I must be popular," my words drop with sarcasm as Koda closes the door behind them.
"You are," Seb smirks taking a seat next to me on the floor.
Faye follows his lead sitting on the opposite side. She instantly grabs my hand giving it a tight squeeze.
I watch as Koda turns on a different lamp so it's not as dark, before he sits in front of me.
Closing my eyes I rest my head on Seb's shoulder, I'm so exhausted.
"Willa," Koda speaks quietly. "Grey told us everything he did."
Groaning I clench my eyes shut. "I don't want to talk about it," I whisper. My voice breaking in the process.
Faye squeezes my hand. "We have to girly. You can't bottle up things."
I'm silent for a long time, trying to gather my thoughts. I'd rather just fall asleep on Sebastian's shoulder, he smells nice.
Peering out of cracked eyes I watch Koda.
His different, yet beautiful eyes wide. He stares at Faye, nodding. Then they snap to Sebastian like he's listening, even if they're not verbally talking.
"Stop linking each other," I grumble.
All of them quickly look down to me, their faces guilty. "We're just worried Piglet," Seb says making me sit up straight.
"You haven't called me that in ages," I smirk letting go of Faye's hand, I just need change the subject. Maybe that'll work.
I bring my arms around my legs as I rest my chin on my knees.
Seb smiles softly, pushing up his glasses.
They all stare at me, not knowing what to say. I'm grateful that they're concerned, but they're not doing too hot in the advice department.
It's awkward, with slight shuffling of each person. They know it's awkward as well.
If I don't say something it's going to be like this until I do say something.
So I give them what they want, what I'm thinking.
Sighing loudly I stare to the ceiling feeling tears start to spring in my eyes. "He reminded me of Darren when he lashed out."
They all sit up quickly, alert. "Your step father?" I nod toward Faye. Her expression becomes grim, "You can't think like that Willa."
"How can I not?" I raise my voice getting choked up on my words. "The man I saw, was not Greyson. He's never been like that before."

"He's under so much pressure right now Willa," Koda sighs putting a hand on my knee. "I know that's no excuse for how he acted, but he regrets everything, I know he does."
"Then why isn't he here right now?"
Koda cocks his head giving me a knowing look. "You don't want him here right now. We know that, he knows that, and you know that."
"He's at my parents, so you don't have to worry about bumping into him," Faye tells me.
"How long is he staying there?" I sniffle.
"However long it takes him to cool down, and for you to heal." She tells me softly.
Nodding lazily I rest my head on top of my knees, not knowing that I was slowly falling asleep.
The room starts falling silent, which just urges me closer to slumber.
"Is she asleep?" I faintly hear Koda ask. It's soon followed by quiet giggles.
An arm wraps around my shoulder and I'm lifted into the air suddenly. I'm conscious enough to realize it's Seb who carries me carefully.
Blinking my eyes lazily I watch as he sets me on the bed, but all of them start to leave.
"Wait," I tell them grabbing Sebastian's sleeve. They all turn towards me. "Please stay."
Seb looks back at all of them before he smiles to me. "Of course we will."
I wake up startled, instantly patting the bed next to me hitting a body.
Wait, Greyson?
I hit the body again only earning, "Willa, stop it." A tired voice tells me. I deflate once I realize it's Faye.
She grumbles pulling the blankets off of me, and completely on her side. Goosebumps arise on my skin as the covers get ripped off of me.
Of course it wasn't Greyson, he wasn't here last night. He didn't come, and he's not going to.
At least not until he's ready, and not until I'm ready.
Sitting up slowly I rub my eyes, trying to rub off my drowsiness.
Looking to my right on the floor, I smile slightly.
I cover my mouth trying to surprise my laughter to the boys laying on the ground in front of me.
Koda has his arms around Sebastian holding him tightly. Seb's hand buried in Koda's dark hair, holding him just as tightly.
If I was an outside source looking in, I would assume that they were dating.
They'd make a cute couple actually.
After making a mental note of this, I search around the room.
Finding a stray blanket on the floor I walk back to them covering them in it.
Lazily I slump out of the door, dragging my feet to the kitchen.
Slamming onto a barstool I put my elbows on the table. Resting my head in my hands I groan softly as the sun beats into the kitchen.
Slowly I feel myself start drifting off once again.
My vision starts turning black, and my body relaxes.
Blackness starts swirling into yellow, a golden yellow. "Stop trying to help me! You can't fix everything Willa!"
Gasping I stand up from my chair hearing a door slam closed.
I put a hand over my heart, watching as Penelope comes into vision. "Hello darling!" She smiles happily, putting a wicker basket on the table.
Watching with wide eyes, I slowly inch my self back into the stool.
"Did I scare you?" The smile never leaving her face. I shake my head as I watch her. She pulls strawberries from the basket setting them on the table. "I picked some strawberries, thought you'd like them."

"Yes, thank you Penelope," I give her a faint smile.
Her eyes flicker to me momentarily before she brushes her hands off on her pants. She continues to put the strawberries in the fridge.
I watch, my eyes blinking slowly.
"How much sleep did you get last night dear?" She asks peering over her shoulder.
Shrugging I try to sit up straight in my chair. "I'm not sure. What time is it?"
Her smile soft, she glances as her watch. "Nine in the morning."
Laughing bitterly I look up to the ceiling. "Less than two hours," I sigh.
She nods her head slowly, closing the fridge. Her eyes turned away from me. "You and Greyson both," she whispers.
Biting my lip I watch the trees blowing outside, not sure where to rest my eyes. I wanna ask her how he's doing, but he's obviously not doing fantastic if he got no sleep as well.
Jumping slightly when Penelope settles in the chair next to me, she rests her hand on my shoulder.
Her eyes look to me concerned. "Sorry," I sigh. "I've been quite jumpy lately."
She nods her head, taking the bandana off of her head. "Listen to me," she tells me fiercely as she grabs my hands. I turn my body to her so I can give her my full attention. "I was going to come over and see how you were handling things. But I can see that there's something else bothering you."
My lip starts to quiver, as I shake my head looking down. Greyson isn't Darren! He will never be like Darren, so why can't I get it out of my head?
"My dear," she says softly touching my chin, urging it up. "What are you thinking? I may be able to help."
I shake my head, my eyes watering. "I can't. It's too terrible Penelope. I don't understand why my head is thinking about it, when my heart knows it's not true."
She smiles sadly.
I watch cautiously as she places a hand on my cheek softly.
Closing my eyes I lean my head into her touch. She shushes me quietly, slowly soothing me.
Peering up to her, her eyes glows gold for a second before they go back to their original color.
That's when I feel a link being created between her and I. My mind feeling completely calm I faintly hear, "Tell me more."
My heart rate slows, I'm completely calm.
My eyes looking back and forth, watching as she becomes satisfied.
"Now," she tucks my hair behind my ear. "What's bothering you?"
"I-" I pause. "Greyson reminded me of my abusive step father," I blurt. Quickly I cover my mouth as soon as it comes out.
Why did I just admit that to his mother? She's going to hate me.
She gives me another satisfied look, standing up from her chair. She pulls me off my chair giving my hands a squeeze.
"You must be wondering how I got you to say that," her eyebrow raises as I nod my head slowly. It's like I was forced, but at the same time I wanted to tell her what was bothering me. "There's so much I must teach you." She smiles pulling me to the door that leads outside.
My feet drag as she pulls me to the greenhouse garden. Flowers and plants I've never seen surround us. Even though it's almost winter, all of the plants are still thriving.
Looking around confused, I open my mouth to question her. But she interrupts me.
"As an Alpha, you have advances. As you know, they're stronger, faster, but they have that obedient tone. They can make any wolf in their pack obey," I nod my head not understanding how this is relevant.
She smirks, "So you just thought Luna's wouldn't get abilities too?"
My head reels back in shock. "Luna's have special abilities?"
Penelope nods giving me a mischievous look. "How do you think I got you to tell me what you were thinking?" She laughs quietly pulling me down to sit on the grass.
"Luna's are meant to nurture, raise, and to put trust in the pack." She takes in a deep breath of the fresh air, smiling to me.
I smirk. Why did I not know about these abilities earlier?
"What I just showed you could be taken as a form of mind manipulation," my mouth slacks and she just giggles softly. "In that moment you felt like you could tell me anything didn't you?"
Nodding my head I think back to that moment. All I could think about was how much I could trust her, how I could tell her whatever was on my mind.
"A nurturer," she smirks. "You found comfort and security in that moment. When I told you through the link to tell me more, your mind listened to my tone. Which then made you tell me what was troubling you."
I close my eyes, I chuckle dryly under my breath, "How am I suppose to do that?"
She giggles shaking her head. "It's a natural instinct, dear."
Opening my eyes I scoot closet to her. Well if it's so easy, "Show me how," she quickly smiles.
"Well, you have to be making physical contact." Penelope smirks, touching my cheek just like last time. "But that's all I can tell you." She laughs dropping her hand quickly as I give her a confused expression. "You have to find your own methods! There's many ways to accomplish this."
"That's complete bull-"
"We can practice later," she interrupts giggling.
I think over what she tells me quickly. The power seems manipulating, almost sinister if used in the wrong ways.
Penelope used it on me because I could never insult Greyson like that to his mother's face. But when she used that trick on me, I blabbed. I told her before I even realized what I was doing.
"But this next ability is something that may be useful." She nods slowly, though her face quickly becomes grim. "We heal fast as werewolves," she nods.
I nod with her watching as she opens her palms.
"Though sometimes the damage is too severe to heal quickly. If you don't have a mate, you can't speed up the healing process." She sighs and I watch as her hands radiates a dark red. I gasp, my eyes shooting to to her own.
"That's where we come in, dear. We can heal people. We can save people." She whispers, her face bright and full of hope. "All of this is something I would love to help you with, but just not today."
"Why not?"
She stops her hands from radiating the glow, before grabbing my hand.
"You and Greyson are more important." I sigh making her shush me. "Now Willa," she says seriously. "I'm not excusing his behavior, but he's acting like his father."
"Wait-"
"Yes, Liam used to be the same way when he was young. But he was worse." She nods with a ghost of a smile on her lips. I find my eyes growing sad with sympathy. "I know Greyson and his heart is too big for his own good. He wants to please everyone, especially you. So when he yelled at you, that absolutely broke his heart."
I give her a shrug listening to her words. She's his mother, she would know. "So why did he do this to me?"
"You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time." I frown making her put up an impatient finger. "But listen," she pulls me up to my feet. "Next time he acts like that, don't be afraid to put him in his place. He might've yelled, but he's jelly in your hands. If you tell that boy to do something, he will bend over backwards to do it for you."
Penelope starts walking, pulling me in a foreign direction. All I know is that we're not going back to the pack house.
"He gets all of this from Liam, so I would know. But you still love him, correct?"
"Of course I do," I tell her too quickly. She gives me a satisfied smirk, knowing exactly what my answer was.
"So," she stops once we reach the yard of one of the many houses scattered on the plot. "What's holding you back?"
I think of her words, tossing them around in my mind. What is holding me back?
Nothing, I quickly think.
I know Greyson is under so much pressure. I know Greyson is nothing like Darren, he would never harm a hair on my head.
Nothing is holding me back.
"That's what I thought," Penelope whispers instantly pulling me into a hug.
Sighing I hold her even tighter. "Thanks Mom," I whisper.
But then I realize what I said. I pull back quickly with wide worried eyes. "I'm sorry I didn't eve-"
"Sweetheart," She silences me, pulling me into another hug. "Call me mom whenever you feel like it, you're already family."
Penelope has been the first mother figure I've had since my mom died all those years ago.
She's like a breath of fresh air, someone who I can turn to.
Let me tell you, she is a hell of a lot better at giving advice than the trio.
She puts confidence in me and knows exactly how I'm feeling. She took me from a bad place, and made me realize the important things.
After a while of us just embracing, she pulls away finally.
I see her slyly wipe tears from her eyes as she tucks my hair behind my ear. She smiles softly to herself in thought, I smile with her.
"Where are we Penelope?" I whisper looking back to the house.
She smiles widely tugging on my hand to follow her. "My house, dear." I almost choke as she pulls me harder, and quickens her steps. "I believe there's someone who wants to see you, and if I'm a betting women-which I am-I think you want to see them too."
