《Alpha's Little Luna》Chapter 37

"Sebastian!" I yell throwing food at him from across the table. He smirks chewing his food loudly.

Him and I are alone while everyone else is still sleeping.

This morning when I woke up Greyson was still dead asleep. So I decided to go for a run to change it up. When I went downstairs Seb was already there about to do the same thing.

So a few laps later, we start to eat breakfast.

There's no surprise that Seb is giving me too much information about his life.

"Willa, you don't understand." He puts his palm on the table to emphasis his words.

"No I-"

"I haven't had a girl over in months! Months!" He yells slumping back in his chair.

I laugh resting my forehead in my palm. "This isn't my problem Seb," I shake my head.

He points a finger towards me. "But you see, it is." I open my mouth to protest and ask why, but he holds up his hands to silence me. "Greyson didn't want to scare you off. He wanted you to feel comfortable or whatever."

He trails his words as I think through my words. Seb chews his food loudly waiting for me to respond.

"So you do everything Greyson tells you?" I challenge crossing my arms. His eyes narrow as he shakes his head in objection, swallowing his food quickly.

"He should," I hear from the doorway. Looking up I see Greyson strolling in, scratching the top of his head.

Seb's eyes close-he doesn't even need to turn around. "And I do." He agrees.

"You do not!" I laugh sitting up in my chair.

Greyson slams down in the chair next to me, rubbing his eyes. "I'm surrounded by children," he groans.

I raise my eyebrow looking to him. He makes eye contact sighing when he sees my expression. "I mean-" he sits up setting his arms on the table. "Willa is right."

I smirk patting his leg before resting back in my chair. "And good riddance Greyson, Willa is new the Alpha." Seb chuckles. "She's got you wrapped around her finger." Seb chuckles satisfied.

Greyson rolls his eyes ignoring Seb's remark. "Do you want to go into town today with me?" He asks turning towards me.

My eyes flicker to Seb momentarily as I watch him eat his food smugly, before I look to Grey.

I hum, smiling. "What's the occasion?"

Greyson opens his mouth to reply, but he's cut off. "Oh yeah, happy birthday by the way," Seb says smacking his shoulder.

My eyes widen as Grey sighs before smirking towards Sebastian.

It's his birthday today?

Oh wow, I'm a terrible mate.

Rubbing my eyes I groan, "I am the worst."

Grey chuckles rubbing my arm reassuringly. "No you're not, I just don't like to make a big deal out of it."

"Wait," Seb exclaims suddenly. "You're telling me that your own mate didn't know your birthday?" I growl looking up to him. "You really are the worst."

On impulse I grab my fork chucking it at him, my anger fuming. He catches it before I can make contact, making him smirk.

Great, I just inflated his ego even more.

"You gotta be quicker than that." I grab my knife ready to throw it before Grey grabs my wrist.

"Sebastian," Greyson groans rubbing his forehead with his free hand. "You're not helping this situation."

He smirks, "Fine. I was only joking Willa."

"You know my emotions are heightened right now," I ground out between my teeth, reluctantly dropping the knife from my fist. Greyson sighs in relief when It hits the table.

"Its just fun to get you riled up," Seb laughs before leaving the room leaving us alone. Finally.

Taking a deep breath I look back to Grey, he has a small smile on his lips. "Why are you smiling?" I grumble. He smiles wider interlocking our fingers, squeezing them tightly.

"You," He chuckles kissing my fingers.

I roll my eyes, "What? Me not being able to control my emotions?" One second I'm laughing with a joke and the next I want to kill the person who made the joke about me. It's a very consistent process.

He laughs loudly falling back in his chair making me groan. I am a psycho.

"It's just cute how you don't have a filter"

"Cute?" He nods sitting back up. "Gre-"

He leans forward suddenly with no warning and cuts my words off with his lips on mine. My eyes flutter close as he grabs my jaw keeping me there.

That was probably the only way he was going to shut me up.

He pulls back, "Just come into town with me," he whispers as I slowly open my eyes to meet his. "It's my birthday," he grins.

Looking to him I can't help the smile that starts flicking up on my lips. The excitement in his eyes make me putty in his hand.

"Let me go get ready."

He smiles pecking my lips quickly before I get up and get dressed into something else.

Before I leave the kitchen, I catch the doorframe looking back to him. His eyebrow raised he waits for what I have to say.

"What about the whole, I've been "missing" for months?"

Grey shrugs looking up to the ceiling, "It's been a long time since that's happened. You'll be fine, and if something does happen, I have connections."

"Connections?"

He nods smirking to my question. Giving no clue by what he meant. Leaving it there for my own imagination to wonder.

I nod before slowly walking up to the bedroom to get ready.

A while later Grey is driving into town, music loud, windows down.

I can't stop looking over to him. A smile is constantly planted on his lips. It's like he is physically incapable to stop.

Softly he sings the music playing, moving his head up and down to the beat. I follow his lead making him look over to me momentarily before looking back to the road.

I smile looking out the window watching the trees whirl past us.

"Where do you want to go?" I ask as we start walking through the square, where shops and restaurants reside.

He grabs my hand swinging our arms, "I'm not sure. I just wanted to get out of the house."

Nodding I look around, my eyes spot a store that I need to remember to go in later. Yet we keep walking until we stumble upon a pet store.

"Greyson we have to go in there," I plead pulling his hand towards the door.

"I'm just going to find an animal, fall in love, and then I'm going to have to leave it there."

"So? I think I see a dog that wants to meet you." I laugh.

He raises his eyebrow as his feet drag slowly with my pull. "You know we're half dog?" He whispers walking past me.

"Yeah but these are cuter."

Grey looks at me like he's offended. But not before almost running up to a little fluff ball, picking the puppy up from its pin.

Smiling I watch as Grey coos, and kisses it.

Maybe this was a bad idea, either he's going to get attached or I am.

I let him play with his puppy for a while longer as I look at the rabbits. Only to come back to him putting it back in the pin sadly. "Let's go before I decide to buy him," he grabs my hand, hurriedly running out of the shop.

We hop from store to store, Greyson looks at a lot of things, but never commits to buy anything.

It's his birthday and he's not impulse buying anything. He's showing self restraint, which is more than what I have.

Dinner closes in and I tell him to put in a reservation and I'll be back soon.

He's confused at first, but I just give him a quick kiss before leaving.

Now to travel to the store I bookmarked in my head earlier. It's where I want to get his present.

It's more of a professional present, which is kind of last minute because-well-I didn't know today was his birthday.

In the end I buy him two presents, each from different stores.

Hopefully he'll like them.

Running back to the restaurant I almost slam down at the table, opposite of him. "I'm back, now open!" I tell him out of breath dropping his first present in front of him.

"This is where you went?" He asks quietly.

"Yes, it's no big deal. Just open," I tell him jittery, pushing the box closer to him.

He smirks opening it up slowly. When he sees it he bursts out laughing. My smile becoming larger as I raise in my seat. "So?"

"It's amazing," he cackles holding it up to read.

"A total gag gift. A very cheesy "best boyfriend ever" sweatshirt. I thought it would be funny," I laugh as he folds it back smiling up to me. "But that's not all I got."

"It's not?"

"No! I got you one other gift." I then slide the smaller box onto the table, watching as Grey squints his eyes. "Open it."

It only takes him a second to open the small box. He smiles softly as his eyes land on the golden objects. "Cuff links," I say softly. "You know, for when you go on important Alpha business. Yours and my initials are engraved on the back, just to add a little spice to them."

He smiles flipping them over. Grey's finger slides over the lettering before he looks up. "How'd you get this done so quickly?"

"The lady there was very nice," I laugh.

He chuckles shaking his head. "I love it. Both of them. Thank you," he smiles leaning across the table pecking my lips.

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to inturup-" I look up to the waitress quickly. Though I close my eyes in disbelief finding who it is.

Why does something always happen at the worst times? "Willa?" She says quietly.

I smile bitterly up to her. "Addie, what a coincidence."

Addie, aka my "best friend" that made out with Jack. Yes, that's the one.

"Let me guess. This is the best friend," Grey links. His tone smug as I look over to him.

"That'd be correct."

"Hey-um-hi. Wow, it's been a long time." She stumbles, setting her water pitcher on the table as she crosses her arms. Her eyes set wide and still in shock.

"Yeah, I wonder why?" I nod watching Grey hide his smirk with his hand in the corner of my eye.

She sighs, "Listen. You ran away Willa. That was when I realized how stupid I was-"

"How're things with you and Jack?" I blurt linking my fingers together, setting my chin on top of it.

Her mouth opens suddenly like she's too fumbled to speak. She shakes her head, "History. He always used to think you were kidnapped, and started going off the deep end. Nobody believed him."

"Well," Greyson laughs in my head making me turn to him. My eyes narrow as I try to hide my smirk.

"Addie, this is Greyson by the way." I snap my head up to her. My smile still fake as ever as I gesture to him. "My boyfriend," the word feeling foreign on my tongue.

He holds out his hand politely.

Her eyes travel to him for the first time since we started talking. They go wide for a second before she grabs his hand shaking it. "It's nice-" she clears her throat. "So nice to meet you."

I smirk watching as she continues the shake for too long, her lip tucked in her teeth almost seductively. "Now, now Addie," I scold quietly. "This ones not like Jack. He's big on loyalty. Which I think we all know is something that Jack nor you posses."

She draws her hand away quickly as if Greyson has just burned her.

Grey snorts, looking away as I just stare smugly at her. "You can apologize, but that doesn't make what you did back then okay." She opens her mouth to protest leaning towards me.

But as if the heavens opened up to give me one last hallelujah! she spills the whole pitcher of water all over herself.

Somehow I composed myself as I watched this happen.

She instantly grabs napkins from the table dabbing the water from her clothes. "Go get yourself clean, and in the meantime can you please send over a new waiter? Thank you Addie, it was great catching up with you," I exaggerate my hands as she grabs the empty pitcher.

She nods, looking annoyed before walking away.

When she was finally out of sight Grey and I finally burst out laughing.

"Revenge, check," I laugh.

We keep laughing until our new waiter-which he looks way nicer-comes and asks for our drink orders.

"Thank you for making this birthday memorable," Grey blurts suddenly as he takes a sip of his drink.

"If you stay with me, I can assure you that I'll make every event memorable." I smirk grabbing his hand.

He squeezes mine, "Oh, I'm not going anywhere."
