《Alpha's Little Luna》Chapter 9

"You know you owe me," Faye retorts.
After a couple hours she and I finally finish cleaning the kitchen. It's spotless, we made sure of that.
So now we lay in her bed looking up to her white ceiling.
Twisting my newly showered hair between my fingers, we chat as the boys are off to who knows where.
I sigh smiling, "I know. But you were a lot of help." Turning my head I look over to her. She does the same, looking over to me. "So what shall it be?" I ask.
She laughs slightly shaking her head. "I was joking. You don't need to do anything for me."
"Nope! You do something for me so I do something for you." I declare.
Faye sighs rolling her eyes, though I notice the small smile placing onto her lips. "Make dinner tonight?"
Ewe, cooking. I mean I can do it, though that doesn't mean I like doing it. But, she helped me clean so I'll cook for her. "Fine."
She squeals happily making me smile. "So then what will you make Chef Willa?"
Rolling my eyes I smack my arm over my eyes. I groan, starting to regret this-I help you, you help me sort of thing.
I could do spaghetti. No, I have that way too often.
Steak? Too expensive.
What about my mom's favorite? Turkey clubs.
I mean she made sure I knew the special sauce recipe by heart. I don't think I can ever forget it, it's one thing she's left behind for me.
"Do turkey clubs sound alright?" I ask.
Instantly she slaps a hand on her flat stomach rubbing it hungrily. "Those sound amazing" she hums.
I mean since Greyson and I got into that little war in the kitchen, we were never able to eat dinner. Then he left.
So I'm guessing I'll be making a sandwich and sides for everyone then.
Propping myself up with my elbows across the warm, red duvet of Faye's room, I intend to get off the bed. Though before I can, Faye suddenly catches my shoulder.
Looking back to her with my eyebrows slightly scrunched together. I silently ask her to continue.

She nods understanding as I lay back down on my back. "So," she smirks. "What's going on between Greyson and you." Oh no.
Quickly my face flushes with red blush.
To be honest I don't know myself. I feel this pull towards him I guess. Like my mind is yearning and wanting to be around him. That somehow I forgive him after every single thing he's done.
Scratching the back of my neck nervously I look down. "Uh, I don't know actually," my voice coming out higher then normal.
She smiles, "But what do you feel?"
How do I feel?
Rubbing my palms against my eyes I blow out a breath of air. "It's weird," I start. "I feel myself being pulled to Greyson. Like he's the light and I'm a moth. Like even after everything, I still can't stop this feeling," telling her this my hands make wild hand gestures.
She nods smiling widely before rolling off the bed herself.
Still blushing I follow her out.
As I throw in the ingredients for my mom's secret sauce, Faye sits at the small table at the other side of the kitchen sipping on some lemonade. She plays with the ends of her dark hair between her fingertips mindlessly.
The sauce is already smelling good, though I'm still not finished.
Almost on cue I hear a loud stomach rumbling, and for a second I thought it was mine. That's until I feel heavy hands land on my shoulders.
Flinching, I look behind me with wide eyes. Though when I see a smirking face looking back at me I have to resist the urge to roll my eyes.
Greyson, Koda, and Sebastian walks though the door. Might I add all shirtless and looking good as ever.
Shaking my head of thoughts I stir the bowl of the mixture. "Where's Jared?" I shutter slightly with the mention of his name.
He never apologized, he never actually made an effort to anyways.
Greyson presses his forehead to my shoulder as he runs his hands up and down my upper arms.
Control the goosebumps, as well as the shivers.
"We're not taking to him at the moment," he whispers.

I nod, as well as hum. I do this like I actually understand. Though I really don't.
Maybe it's just some guy/werewolf drama. I don't care, I just know I can just make five sandwiches out of six.
"So what are you making?" He asks, then resting his chin upon my shoulder.
Clicking my tongue as I shake my head, I smirk to him. "It's suppose to be a surprise," I lie. I just don't want to explain everything.
"But it smells good, and I'm hungry," he whines.
Scoffing I shake my head, "Turkey clubs." I say blandly.
"So what's that then?" He asks using his forehead to motion to the bowl laying in front of me.
"A sauce to put of the sandwiches. My mom showed me how to make it," I smile fondly at the memory.
"Now Willa, Momma's pretty sick." She nods. I just found out she has cancer a week or so ago. I don't think I'm over it yet.
But they say it's too late to do anything so we just have to sit and wait. Make Mom comfortable as her time ticks.
But I need to be strong for her. I need to show her she's still the most beautiful women in world. I need to show her she's the most wonderful mother of the world.
Be strong Willa.
"But-" she continues. "My Mom showed me a recipe that's been passed down for a couple of generations. So I'm going to teach you, and you'll leave here knowing that you'll have something that was apart of me." She smiles weakly as she shakily stands next to me leaning against the counter.
"Do you need to sit?" I ask worried, already making my way towards a chair.
"No honey," she smiles slowly stepping towards the counter top with all our materials. "Just promise me you'll keep this tradition going. I did the same for my Momma, and now I'm doing the same for you." She smiles.
I smile back to her instantly throwing my arms around her waste. She might be sick and getting weaker, but she's still Mom. She still smells like Mom. She still looks like Mom.
And I'm going to make her life amazing before she passes.
"Now come on honey, we're going to cook together." She smiles widely.
I can't resist but smile largely back because that's the biggest smile I've seen her crack since Dad died.
"Alright So what you're going to do is..."
A ghostly smile slips onto my lips. "Your mom?" Greyson whispers.
"It's a tradition you know?" My voice cracks slightly. "When you're about to die, pass the recipe down to your children."
Be strong
As I stir all of the ingredients together, it's almost done.
Though I tremble as a feathery kiss is planted right behind my ear. Chills gets sent all the way down my spine, and then back up. "I can't wait to try it," he whispers against my ear.
A blush creeps it's self onto my cheeks.
I too am excited to try it. I haven't made it in years.
"Would you like to put the sandwiches together as I finish this off?" I ask him, slightly turning my head so his forehead is touching my cheek, his hair tickling my skin.
"Of course," I see him smile stepping away from me.
Soon we all sit around the table and I'm sat waiting for everyone to take their first bites. I never knew something could be as nerve wracking as this.
Greyson squeezes my leg under the table to comfort me as everyone brings their sandwiches to their mouths.
I hold my breath as the steady crunch of the lettuce echoes in the kitchen.
Greyson chuckles besides me, my head turns to him quickly. "This is absolutely amazing," he tells me.
I smile widely, feeling accomplished just from his words.
"Holy shit girl!" Faye says happily.
Sebastian and Koda nod their head furiously shoving their face with the sandwich.
Smiling I pick up my own sandwich taking a bite out of it.
My eyes grow wide with remembrance. It's just as I remembered it. Damn I'm good.
Smiling accomplished I take another bite, and another, until my sandwich is no more.
Mom would be proud of the many people enjoying our recipe.
