Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.

- Rachel Zoe.

The day was set. The big day was finally set. All invitations went out and the news spread like wildfire. The whole city was buzzing.

And I was nervous as hell.

My hands shaking, my face sweating, my legs bouncing. I felt crowded from everywhere. The life I lived no more a private life. Everything was out in the open except for the money problem, ofcourse. Even though some people guessed the actual reason for marrying the rich businessman.

Money. I wouldn't say that it wasn't the actual reason because it was. Even though I hated being labelled as a gold digger, I couldn't change the truth. But I ignored the snark comments on tabloids because I knew, aside from money I was marrying Tyler for other reasons too.

Lydia was the other reason. It was all because of her. I couldn't believe, a little girl like Lydia could bring two people from different lifestyle together with only one wish. She was something. Something special. This was happening all for her. Tyler and I was doing this for her. Our needs were kept behind to for later on to think about. Our first priority was to make the little red haired beauty happy. And that was what we were doing.

But the nerves wouldn't leave me alone. I never liked the attention. Never liked the spotlight. And now when news spread that I was marrying one of the richest man in the city, I became the main topic of all the gossip columns on magazines.

Reporters were cramped outside the shop right about now probably waiting for me to get out. So that they could put me on a page of their paper or magazines; wherever they post stuffs.

Currently I was sitting on the couch of this posh boutique named Séduire, french for allure. The shop was filled with various glamorous clothes. Many model like woman were roaming around here as if the scandalous price tag on the dresses were a casual thing. Maybe it was just only me.

Mademoiselle Ophélie, a famous french designer in manhattan run the shop with lot of her minions scrambling behind her. I was a fool to think this was my kind of shop though when suggested by a future mother-in-law, I had no choice but to go in and buy a dress worth wearing beside the great Tyler Sanders on the big day.

Again thinking of that day made my legs bounce up and down, I started biting my nails. I--

"You're acting as if it's your wedding day or something." Chloe voiced with amusement clear in her voice along with the sound of some rustling of fabrics from my left side.

Thank god for Chloe to interrupt my inner battles or else I wouldn't had any nails to paint for my engagement party. I turned to my left and there was my favourite sister helping me choose a elegant but sexy dress for the party. She said my choices were boring and I took great offence to that but Chloe just brushed me away. What a mean sister!

"Well, it's feels like my wedding day." I truthfully admitted. "I didn't expect so much for a simple engagement party."

Chloe rubbed her fingers on a pale blue dress with a thoughtful face and I relived a happy sigh. Finally she choose a dress....but then she let the fabric fall away with a shake of her head and walked toward another set of dresses hanged on the other side. It had been going on for more than an hour and I was already bored.

Taking out a beautiful dark green colour dress filled with stones one side and the other side fully plain, Chloe inspected it from top to bottom then with that she came near me. "Claire, you're marrying Tyler Sanders. Nothing is simple in that man's life. You should know this by now."

Yeah, I should know this by now. My fiancé wasn't just a normal everyday man. He was someone known. He was a man to be reckoned in business world. But there was no need to dwell on that because already, the engagement party was set two days from now.

Now was the time to be prepared for that night and first on the list to be prepared was a dress. Hence, here I was sitting on a shop where I wouldn't even think about stepping in, let alone shopping. The platinum card that nestled in my bag was the push that made me shop here. Even though I insisted I could buy my own dress from the money stash for my daily expenses, Tyler flat out said no.

But I didn't back down. He was already taking care of my rents and loans, buying a simple dress seemed easy for me. So I refused but the next day, the card was back in my bag and I realised that he had a duplicate key of my apartment made for him when he borrowed my keys on that drunken night of mine. And now he could come in my home and go as he wanted. To tell the truth, I was crept out by it but Tyler was Tyler, he said it was for emergency uses only. Though I still couldn't understand if that credit card situation was a emergency or not.

Looking up at the dress in Chloe's hand, I scowled. If that was her choice, then at the engagement party, I would look like a hooker. The bodice of the dress was too low for my taste. Seeing my reaction, she rolled her eyes but nonetheless put the dress back on the rack.

Turning back to me, she huffed loudly. "Claire, do you even want a dress? You don't like any single dress from here!"

I sighed and rolled my neck to loose the tension I felt in my muscles but my eyes caught a glimpse of a black shine and glistening white stones. I stared at the dress in the plastic wrap that was being delivered to the hand of Mademoiselle Ophélie by one of her minion. My eyes sled from the contrast silver lace covered shoulders and bodice to the plain black fabric attached to it and when Ophélie took the dress out, I noticed a split and gulped. It was a long split but nonetheless suited the dress perfectly and I smiled. Though that smile didn't stay long because she turned the dress around, right then I saw the back of the dress and I closed my eyes regrettably.

Shaking my head, I glanced up at Chloe with a heavy heart. "Did you find any other dress though?"

She shook her head but looked at the direction I was gazing so intently seconds ago and grinned. "No, but I think you just found yourself a dress."

When my sister took a step toward that direction, I immediately clutched her arm, "No, not that. It looks really expensive plus the back is really not for me."

At once, she whipped her head toward me and scowled. "Stop being a grandma! For once, you choose a sexy dress and you're getting it anyhow!" With that she started fast walking toward the designer with her heels clicking on the floor and shouted really loudly when she noticed some other women eyeing that dress. "Mademoiselle Ophélie? Mademoiselle Ophélie! Put that dress back in the wrap, we're buying it! Now!"

There was no way I was wearing that dress like that. Immediately, I got up and walked toward both the woman, and stated with my intention clear. "Cover that back, I don't care how but I'll pay more if you cover it."

Chloe snatched the dress from the shop owners hand and exclaimed. "What? No!"

I took the dress from her, feeling the smooth fabric beneath my hands and sighed dreamily. "Chloe, I really like this dress but you know me, I don't like backless dresses."

Before Chloe could point her disapproval, Mademoiselle Ophélie gently took the dress from me and stroked it as if it was a newborn baby. She looked between us sisters accusingly that instantly made us take a step back but then she heaved a sigh and said with a very french accent. "This is mon précieux! Touch it with care, bien?" The words were hard to understand but we both got the clear message behind those anyway.

When we nodded, she continued. "I make a big bow here to cover the middle, oui? Skin shows haut et bas only." She took a piece of cloth from the side and covered the backless part with makeshift bow then gestured us the gap on the upper and lower side of the bow. "Skin? Oui here and here! Middle no skin! That's as far as I do. Other than that it will ruin mon précieux!"

Since we understood what she really meant by her hand gestures, we agreed. She said it would be delivered to my house tomorrow with exact fitting she got from me. So I went and paid for it with Tyler's card. I tried not to gawk at the price tag as the grip on my hand tightened. I paid it quickly and took the receipt while trying to pry Chloe's hands off me.

We took our leave from there with the help of Liam, a bodyguard sent by Tyler when I called him this morning to shout at him for having reporters camp in front of my apartment. And when I was finished he just replied strictly not to get out of Liam's sight. Before I could even ask who was Liam, he hung up. After 15 minutes, a man with a body so much like Simon wearing a suit and black sunglasses, knocked at my door and introduced himself as Liam.

Hence here we were, being escorted by another big guy. Chloe finally took her hands off me and said. "Now time to buy shoes!"

And I rubbed the skin where she touched and groaned ignoring the big grin on her face.

Chloe really did like shopping where as me? Not at all.

"Well, you didn't take as much as time I expected you take." My irritating elder sister said. "And now you seem to have good taste."

I shook my head at her. "No, it was because I let you choose it."

She waved her hand and looked out the window. "Yeah, whatever. You liked it anyway."

"I had no choice but to like!" I muttered through the corner of my mouth. Chloe choose to ignore it but it didn't change the fact. Back in the shop, the way she was glaring at me when she asked me whether I liked the heels she choose or not, I had no choice but to agree. So she was the one with great taste.

My outfit was done. Wait, not fully. I just had to wear the engagement ring and a pair of my old earrings then it would be fully complete. I didn't want to overdo it. Chloe had an acquaintance who would help me with my makeup and hairstyle for the party. Now, there was nothing to be worried about other than receiving my parents from the airport.

That was where we were going actually. The airport. Liam was the one driving us though it was Chloe's car that he was driving. He offered to drive the car he brought but Chloe insisted that we use her car. I looked out the window from the backseat and watched the scenery change.

Within 10 minutes, we reached the Newark Liberty International Airport and it was 4: 50 pm already. Their flight was suppose to land at that exact time. Tyler offered to pay for the flight but I knew my dad was a prideful man and he would refuse it, moreover he would get angry over it. Since, my dad agreed to come and see his daughter's city man himself, I had no intention of ruining Tyler's image in front of dad.

We both walked out of the car and stood before Terminal A, waiting for the doors to be opened for my parents. Two minutes went away and I checked my phone to see whether I got a missed call or text but no, I didn't. Since I couldn't just keep still, I started pacing. I glanced at Chloe to see her casually standing and watching me walk from left to right in front of her.

"Claire, relax. I'm sure dad will be just dad. You know him, first he would be the grumpy dad." She said making a impression of dad's grumpy expression. "Then he would be strict dad." Chloe pointed her finger at my face and tried to be as strict as she could without letting a smile sneak on her face. Though I couldn't hide my smile. "After that he would be the understanding dad then finally the happy dad."

We both smiled and I nodded accepting what she said. Our dad was like that. Chloe's word already worked it's magic on me and I felt good.

A shout came from behind me "Chloe! Claire!" And we both turned toward the voice to see our Mom rush to us with both of her arms stretched out. "Oh my girls!"

When she was near, she pulled us both in her arms and hugged us hard. We could see dad coming out with the bag and as Chloe said, at first it was the grumpy dad. His face said it all.

"Mom, I really can't breathe!" Chloe said from the other side of my mom's head. Mom let us go and Chloe grinned. "Oh mom, you haven't changed a bit."

"But you girls did!" Mom said while stepping back and inspecting both of us from top to bottom. "Look at you two, so thin and pale. Haven't you been eating?" When we just stared at her with a straight face, she flaked her hand and informed. "Well, no worries. I'm here now and I'll fatten you both up!"

Chloe and I looked at each other, and groaned while mom just gleefully smiled. The clearing of a throat made us turn in the direction of dad. Same hair, same eyes, same nose. Nobody could deny that was my dad when people looked at us. We both sisters greeted him in unison. "Hi dad!"

I watched as Chloe moved forward and hugged dad. "You look good, dad."

He nodded and let her go then he turned toward me. "Claire."

"Dad." I greeted simply while mom and Chloe watched us from beside me.

The same blue eyes roamed up and down my body, staying longer on my ring finger. I hid my fingers in my palm and waited for him to say something. His eyes met mine and he stated. "You're not a girl anymore. You grew up."

I nodded with a nervous smile. "Yeah, dad."

"And you're engaged." He said. I gripped my fingers hard to stop them from shaking. My dad really could be intimidating but after meeting Tyler, I found dad a tad bit less intimidating.

"Yes, dad." I agreed.

He looked at my face then at my finger then at my face again. For a second, I stopped breathing thinking he would explode here in anger but no, he just stretched his left arm out and half smiled. "Well, that doesn't mean you couldn't hug your old man now, does it?"

Finally, I grinned and stepped forward quickly in his arms feeling the care and protection his arms had always provided since I was just a little girl. "No, dad. Nothing could stop me from hugging my own dad."

No matter how big I was, I could never top my dad's five feet eight inch height at my five feet four inch. He looked down at me and smiled. "Well it's refreshing to know that." His head turned toward Chloe and mom while I moved to his side and his hand to my shoulder. His eyes locked with three pairs of eyes one by one. "I just want my family to be happy. I don't need anything more."

Chloe just awed at dad and came to hug him from the other side which wasn't occupied by me. Mom stood in front of us and dabbed her small napkin in her eyes to erase the tears that we already saw.

I stretched my arm out to her and she immediately came. All four of us were joined to the hips with big smiles and moisture present in our eyes. The passerby's didn't give us a single glance because it was a common scenery in a airport.

It was common for families to be departed or reunited in the airport but in our case, we were reunited.
