《The Two of Us》Movie Ratings II - Fifty Shades Trilogy

Me:

Hate the movie like reallyyyy hate it with all my heart. The plot was terrible. The characters also triggered me because of how easily they switched and changed. Especially Christian. He claims to be a strict dominant and can't have a romantic relationship. Still, he keeps going and lets Anastasia, who is in BDSM, manipulate him and turn him into a sub. There's no logic to that. The BDSM ideas were pretty good with contracts and stuff. Very professional dom/sub relationship. But the timeline isn't. It's too fast. Unrealistic. You can't change your lifestyle and interest just within a second you meet or see someone. That's stupid. I liked Christian's mum tho. And I love the playroom. I want to have one. ◈◇◇◇◇

Her:

The sweet romantic virgin turns out to be a selfish, manipulative bitch in disguise and the smart, badass dom really is just an irresponsible, stupid little boy with mommy issues. That's, uhmm, the opposite of sexy.

BDSM as a lifestyle isn't for everyone and certainly not for me, but portraying it as a pathological symptom of past trauma is not only disrespectful but also shows that they were too lazy to do some basic research.

The sex scenes were nice to watch, and the playroom is a dream. ◈◈◇◇◇

Me:

The first movie ruined the concept of BDSM relationships already, so I had zero expectations for this movie. The shy girl becomes more dominant and intimidating.. even the billionaire dom himself falls on his knees and is head over heels for her.. he now appears to be a weak and fragile rich boy with a traumatic childhood. This story uses BDSM as clickbait because all you can find in this movie is that a hardcore BDSM practitioner becomes total vanilla because he falls in love with the manipulative, selfish girl. Now the movie is just a boring romance movie. Nothing special. BDSM has nothing to do with childhood trauma. And a BDSM practitioner is not a sick person. It's just the way how people have fun in their sex life. This second movie just makes the BDSM community look bad with all the trauma, stalking, stealing of personal information, and so on. It's not like that at all. This movie is just fucked up. ◇◇◇◇◇

Her:

It was soooo long. Tiring. I'm beginning to hate Anastasia more with every scene and every little hum and huff. And she hums and huffs a lot. She does it all the time. And it aggravates me to no end. Ahh, gorgeous, flawless little Anastasia. She's so beautiful, so intelligent, hard-working, successful and desired, so thoughtful and sweet and loved by everyone, except the jealous exes who aren't as perfect and capable of taming Christian as she is. She really has it all. She even almost orgasms from just wearing kegel balls, when most other women don't even really feel them at all once they are inside. What an utterly unrelatable and boring character.

The storyline isn't worth talking about, as it's all very predictable and unmemorable. The sex scenes and pretty lingerie are still good, just like in the first movie. ◈◇◇◇◇

Me:

Nothing special about this last movie from the fifty shades trilogy. Just some boring drama romantic kind of movie with basic aesthetics.. A perfect life, become rich, had everything, people get jealous, blablablabla, having babies and shit. So basic.. The shy innocent girl now has total control of the multi-billionaire dom. He is now under her mercy.. sex scenes are boring but at least you still can see boobies and get some ideas for sex (the ideas are alright, but the acting is bad).. I would never recommend this trilogy to anyone, especially if they try to learn about BDSM/kinky stuff from this trilogy, because the story and details are far from reality and full of false information. ◇◇◇◇◇

Her:

Ugh... It starts with their wedding and ends with one and a half children... Anastasia finally gets everything she ever dreamed of, and so does her obedient little Christian, who now can be his true self, a servant to his mistress. I'd rather be alone for the rest of my life than deal with the likes of Anastasia Steele. She tricks and whines Christian into giving her what she wants and even forces a child onto him. Because, come on, ever so diligent Ana forgetting about her birth control jab? Sorry, but that is unbelievable.

I never read the books, and only after watching the movies did I find out that the books were originally fanfics, and it definitely shows. Shitty fanfics for equally trashy books. And yet both book series became bestsellers. I'm at a loss for words.

The one positive thing I can say about all this is that despite everything, the books and movies made people more interested in expanding their sex lives and exploring new things in the bedroom. ◇◇◇◇◇
