《True Reddit Posts》Laughter In Silence

Jack and I were just 12 years old, but our days were always full of adventures. That was what we both had in common. A thrill for an adventure. We explored every part of our town on the weekends, especially those that looked undiscovered, even by adults. That day we had a walk through the woods, hoping to find another thrilling adventure. We did. I meant, he did.

After a few hours of the walk into the woods, we stumbled upon an old house. It looked like the house had been abandoned for years. I was thrilled to explore the house, but when we push the unlocked gate, we heard the laughter of a little child echoing from inside the house. I heard it very clearly among the silence in the woods. We usually felt challenged when it came to a haunted house, but that time something held me back. Something told me not to go inside. From the look of Jack's eyes, I know he felt the same way. Then I heard the laughter echoed again from inside the house.

But Jack never backed off of anything. We argued for a while, but then we agreed that he will get in the house while I wait outside. He put his red baseball cap on and ran inside the house.

It had been an hour, and no sign of Jack coming out of the house. But the laughter still heard from time to time within the hour. It creeped me out. I decided to run back home, and get my dad to help. And he did come with me to the woods. He was grumbling about how risky our adventure was, and that he always told me not to go into the woods. But he still accompanied me into the woods. Helping me to find Jack in the abandoned house. I ran fast when I saw a glimpse of the house's old gate from afar. "Are you sure it was here?", my dad asked me when we reached the gate. But inside the gate, there was no house. It was just an empty field, covered by grass all over.

Then I saw a red baseball cap flying towards me. Blown by the strong wind. Followed by an echo of a little child's laughter, in the silence of the woods.
