《Keeping Up With Cade》Chapter Six - The princess and the frog

Chapter Six
The spoon clattering to the floor was the only sound ringing in Blair's ears.
'Are you okay?' Hailey eyed her friend warily. 'You look like you've seen a ghost.'
Blair ducked under the table quickly to avoid Cade's stare. As soon as he'd entered the kitchen that morning she'd flipped out, dropping her spoon and nearly knocking her cereal bowl off the counter. Way to be inconspicuous, she thought dryly.
'I'm fine,' she squeaked out before delving back into her cereal.
'That's gross,' Hailey wrinkled her nose gesturing at Blair's unwashed spoon.
'Your mother cleans the floors twice a day Hailey, it wouldn't be dirty,' Cade answered her before Blair had a chance to reply.
'I wasn't talking to you,' Hailey replied sweetly.
Blair chanced a look at him and he shot her a familiar grin.
-His hands were making fast work of her jeans, unbuttoning them quickly while his mouth focused on her neck. Nipping and biting it, she couldn't stop the loud moan emitting from her mouth. He paused in his attack and shot her a grin.-
'Blair? Hello?' Hailey was waving her hand in front of her face repeatedly.
Blair snapped back to reality, memories of the previous night disappearing quickly.
'All morning you've been so weird, did something happen last night?'
'What? No!' She knew she needed to tone it down a little and she could hear Cade's amused chuckles from the kitchen but she didn't dare look at him. All she needed was one look and more vivid flashbacks enter her mind. It was as though she was consistently reliving it over and over.
'O-o-ok,' Hailey rolled her eyes and went back to her breakfast.
Meanwhile Blair was freaking out. What had she done? Gone and lost her bloody virginity to the guy she was pretty sure she hated. Who did that? And she wasn't even drunk, all excuses just flew out the window. What might be worse was she kind of...maybe definitely liked it. After the initial discomfort, she was so into it, so into him... it felt kind of good. Not as painful as she was expecting, Hailey had described it as much worse.

She snuck another glance over at him eating his cereal with his back against the counter looking out the window ignoring the two girls. She blushed at the idea of Cade seeing her naked, not only had he seen everything, but he'd pretty much kissed every part of her body. Her gaze moved to his hands... then along his arms...
- She lay there in her underwear, feeling the weight of his body against hers as they kissed. Her eyes jumped to his arms as he lifted himself off her and hovered above her, his muscles straining and rippling. Blair was sure she'd never been more turned on in her life.
She tried to pull him back on top of her but he held off, smiling wickedly down at her, teasing her. He flopped down beside her instead and pulled her on top of him, expertly untying her bra in a swift motion leaving Blair reeling. Next his mouth moved to her exposed breasts.... -
'Blair! Seriously, what is up with you?' Hailey demanded.
She groaned once she'd realized her mind had gone off on a tangent again. Absolutely anything was setting off her flashbacks. Looking at Cade's stupid arms sent her into a frenzy, she thought annoyed at herself.
'Nothing, come on let's go upstairs. I want to hear all about your night,' she said quickly trying to cover up for her stupid trance like state all morning. She needed to get away from Cade, and get her mind off last night. Because it simply couldn't happen again. She really didn't know what she was thinking.
...
For the third time that day Blair spotted Cade and changed her direction. It had been a few days after the 'event' and she'd successfully avoided being alone with him at all costs. She knew she was being a little immature about it all but she didn't really care. The only thing going through her mind was the fact she'd just lost her virginity...to a guy she didn't give a shit about...sober. She groaned loudly at the thought.
'Blair?'
Blair's eyes widened and she clamped her hands over her mouth in her spot behind the kitchen door. She'd seen Cade enter the lounge room and immediately turned around and hid behind the door once she realized there was no where else to go.

The door swung open and Cade stood there looking a little bemused at her.
'Really Blair? You're actually hiding behind the door?'
'Um...' She quickly grabbed the broom that was hanging behind the door. 'No, actually I was getting the broom Cade. I don't need to explain my every move to you,' she retorted extremely proud of her quick thinking.
'Yeah, sure you were. So you're going to sweep the kitchen again are you? Even though Jane already did it half an hour ago? When you were in the room?'
Blair nodded confidently. Oh fuck, Jane had only just done it.
To her annoyance he sat at the counter top and watched her sweep the kitchen.
'Get lost Cade, don't you have anything better to do?'
He smirked from his spot, 'Nah, not really.'
She abandoned the job halfway and put the broom back.
'You missed a spot,' he grinned at her knowingly.
'Ugh,' she sighed turning to leave the room, but paused when she heard Cade call out her name. It wasn't in a teasing manner anymore, he sounded kind of serious.
'Blair, wait.' He stood up quickly and walked over to her. 'I'm not sure why you're acting so odd around me...I mean,' he paused. 'It was just sex. Nothing more, can we go back to normal yet?'
She frowned at him, 'Back to normal as in you and I fighting over everything and hating each others guts?'
'Precisely,' he grinned. 'I'm getting sick of watching you run and hide whenever I enter a room. It's weird.'
Blair blushed and ducked her head in embarrassment, he'd noticed that?
'You're not like...' He eyed her warily. 'In love with me or something are you?'
She burst out laughing at that, 'Oh my God, you conceited asshole. Far from it!'
He laughed unsurely, 'Oh good, I was a bit worried for a minute there...'
She rolled her eyes, if she knew avoiding him would make him jump to such ridiculous conclusions she wouldn't have done it!
'Uh, this is weird isn't it,' he said with a hint of a smile.
Blair nodded her head slowly. She really wanted to get out of there and never speak to him again.
'Did you have a good night at least?'
Her eyes widened angrily, 'It's not up for discussion, in fact we're never mentioning it again! Understood?' She really hoped he was buying her serious-angry-mode she was trying desperately to convey. Meanwhile her mind was drifting off elsewhere, possibly due to his close proximity and wicked smile he was sporting on his face.
'Chill out, I was just asking,' he chuckled lightly. 'It could be fun you know...' He said as an afterthought.
'What could be?' She almost didn't want to ask.
'Us hanging out, every so often.'
Blair knew he wasn't talking about them two hanging out as platonic friends, no Cade had just implied she should have sex regularly with him and for it to mean nothing.
'You're a pig.'
He grinned, 'Alright, just don't come looking for me the next time we're out and throw yourself at me.'
Her mouth dropped open in horror, 'I did nothing of the sort!'
'Let me refresh your memory Princess, you sought me out both nights we hooked up.' He looked like the cat who'd gotten the cream. His smirk was infuriating and Blair wanted to slap it right off his face.
She hesitated with a retort on the tip of her tongue, come to think of it he might be telling the truth... 'You're such a liar,' she replied lamely. 'Stay away from me, don't ever talk to me again.'
He smiled, 'Sure thing, but I think the real issue will be you staying away from me.'
She rolled her eyes and walked away, too angry to form coherent words. What was she thinking sleeping with this asshole? Blair knew she wasn't the type of girl to guard her virginity for her prince charming, but surely she didn't have to throw it at the first frog?

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
