《help wanted - Harry Styles au》Chapter 29

"He did what?!" Tina screamed through the phone. I finally called her and told her what happened last week, I knew she would freak out which is why I held off this long. "And you're just now telling me?!" She continued.
"Tina, I know. I know... I knew you were going to react like this so I kinda held off a little. I didn't want you to worry. I took care of it, and he hasn't tried to contact me since then." I defended myself.
"Yeah, not yet." Tina scoffed. "He's a monster Ana, and now that he's seen you again, happy and thriving might I add, he's not going to let up that easy." She had a point, seeing me with another man probably pissed him off. But he has no right in my life anymore, he can't control me.
"It's alright, we already got a lawyer and the restraining order is in the process of being finalized." I said, trying to assure her. "He doesn't know where we live, he can't hurt me." I said confidently.
"Just.. please be careful." Tina sighed. "I know what he's capable of. I don't want to see you get hurt again."
"I know.. I'll keep you updated if anything happens, okay? I love you." I said to her.
"Love you too, I'll talk to you later. Bye!" She said before hanging up. I sighed and tossed the phone on the bed. Her words sinking into my head. Was she right? Would Scott be more persistent than ever?
I don't know what I would do if he found us, or if he did anything to hurt me or the kids or Harry.. Fuck.
"Everything okay?" Harry came out of the bathroom, towel hanging loosely around his waist. I just nodded my head and pinched the bridge of my nose. "Hey, hey.. What's going on?" He knelt down in front of me, placing his hands on my knees.
"Talk to me." He searched my eyes for any sign of tears or discomfort.
"I'm just stressed.. Everything with Scott... and my dad? Like why is everything happening right now?" I huffed in frustration. "It's like whenever I finally have something good in my life, something else swoops in as ruins everything." I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Hey. Nothing is ruined. We're okay, the kids are okay. Sure, there's bumps in the road, but we are perfectly fine." Harry squeezed my legs softly. "We're going to get through this together. That's why I'm here, that's one of the reasons we're together right? We help each other, we mourn with each other, we hurt with each other, but we are there for each other. No matter what." Harry kissed my hand. Harry always knew what to say to make me feel better, nobody's ever been as comforting and loving as Harry.
"We're just fine, love." Harry repeated, still seeing the discomfort in my face. "I know it's stressful, but we can handle a little stress." Harry smiled at me, I nodded my head finally letting a small smile take place on my face.
"Thank you, Harry.. I know this isn't ideal, Scott and all. Thank you for supporting me." I smiled. He nodded and stood up on his feet.
"Always, love." He kissed my cheek before walking off to the closet.
"I'm working from home today, do you want me to take Pen to school or do you want to take her?" Harry asked.
"Actually.. I was wondering if she could stay today?" I asked. "I just, don't want to risk anything." Harry poked his head out the closet, confused at my request. "Scott saw the kids." I shrugged, I was probably being paranoid but I'd rather them be safe than something happen to them.
"Ana, he can't get to them at the school." Harry's face softened as he understood why I was asking.
"I know.. but can she please just stay for today?" I begged. Harry nodded his head slowly.
"Okay, that's fine. She can stay home today." Harry finished putting on clothes before coming to the bed and picking me up, I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck instantly.
"I love you, Anastasia." He whispered against my lips.
"I love you, Harry." I smiled before pressing my lips to his.

"What do you mean you can't find him?" I said frustrated into the phone.
"There's no Scott Montgomery in the system. At least not the one you're looking for." Louis said into the phone. Yes, Louis was my lawyer, a damn good one at that. "We've searched everything, this guy doesn't exist." He repeated. I let out a groan running my hand through my hair.

"How is that even possible?" This was not good, not good at all. We can't file a restraining order if the person doesn't even exist.
"Maybe it's a fake name? I don't know. We'll need all the information we can get from Anastasia." Louis said through the speaker of my phone.
"No. I don't want to get her anymore stressed about the situation. She's been through enough and now I gotta tell her that her psycho ex was lying about his identity the whole time?" I said annoyed.
"Mate, it's the only way. We need to know who he is. We already knew he was bad, but even more so now that we know he's been using a fake name." Louis said, I sighed knowing he was right. I know we have to get Anastasia involved.
"Okay... Okay, I'll talk to her. I'll call you back later today okay?" I closed my eyes, thinking deeply on what we're supposed to do.
"We'll find him, I'll connect with Niall and see what he can do from the FBI stance." He concluded. We said our goodbyes and I groaned loudly. There's no way this is happening.
I glanced at the new picture frame that stood on the corner of my desk, the picture of Anastasia and Pen at the park last week, with Danny on the ground next to them. God, I love this woman so much and I feel so helpless right now. Anger ran through my blood at the park that day, I couldn't believe someone would say anything like that about Anastasia. There's nothing I wanted to do more than punch Scott in the face that day.
I sighed and picked up my phone to text Ana to come to the office whenever she got a chance.
Louis: I know this is a lot, but we'll get him.
Louis texted me, probably fully aware of the stress I was feeling at the moment. A knock sounded through my office and I told her to come in.
"Is everything alright?" She asked, concern filled her face. I just nodded and ushered her into the room.
"Come sit, we need to talk about Scott." I sighed, I didn't even know what to say, how do I tell her this?
"Did something happen?" Her voice was shaking as she sat on the chair next to my desk.
"Yeah, actually. I just got off the phone with Louis, we were supposed to finalize the restraining order today. But we can't." I admitted, sadly. "Anastasia, Scott Montgomery doesn't exist." I finally said.
"What are you talking about?" She chuckled. I shook my head, letting her know I wasn't joking.
"Louis and his team can't find him in the system, he's nowhere to be found. It's not his real name." I explained. "He lied to you about his identity." Her face was clearly filled with shock at my words.
"What?" She said softly. I glanced at her leg, bouncing rapidly.
"You need to tell me everything you know about him, how old he is, his hometown, his family, where he went to school. Louis and Niall are going to come later so we can work it out." I rushed.
"Niall?" She questioned.
"He works for the FBI." I explained, her eyes widening even more.
"Oh wow. Okay. This is really serious. Okay... yeah. I'll look through some things and try to remember everything I can." Her voice was extremely uneven, his breathes shallow.
"Deep breathes Ana.. It's okay, angel." I reached over and placed my hand on her arm, stroking it to try to ease her nerves. "We'll get him." I reassured her.
"I know.. It's just a lot to take in." She sighed. "I can't believe this is my life." She let out a nervous laugh. She stood from her seat and walked towards me, leaning down to place a kiss on my cheek.
"Thank you for helping me." She said softly. I nodded my head at her and she left my office shortly after. I stared at the door for a moment.
I had to find him. And when I do, all Hell will break loose.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
