《Adopted by McQueen (humanized) Book One》Bonus Chapter: The Ghost Light

It was night time in Radiator Springs. Mater was messing with everyone around the town. He pulled Red's flowers away with a string while he was watering them. He jump scared Luigi and Guido. He put more jugs of organic juice in front of Fillmore's house.
And he tried scaring Lizzie while she was sleeping, but she wouldn't wake up.
McQueen, Chloe, and the others were hanging out at Flo's café.
"Sure is a nice night." McQueen said.
There was a pile of cans in the shape of Mater and a can fell on the ground. Sally chuckled.
"It sure is a nice niiiigghhht." She said.
McQueen saw the cans and chuckled, "i hope Mater is waiting around anywhere to scare me. Cuz I'll freak out."
"AHHHH!" Mater screamed jumping down behind him.
McQueen fell into the cans and onto the ground screaming in fear. Everyone started laughing at him, even Chloe.
Doc chuckled, "if only you were that fast on the race track."
"Oh boy that was funny. You looked like you just seen the ghoooosssst light." Mater chuckled.
"Mater!" Sheriff yelled, "don't ever speak of the ghost light."
"What is the ghost light?" McQueen asked.
Everyone froze stiff.
"The ghost light is a glowing orb of blue translucent light that haunts this very town." Sheriff started.
"Oh don't be too scared buddy it ain't real." Mater told McQueen.
"IT IS REAL!" Sheriff yelled.
Chloe grabbed ahold of McQueen as her heart started pounding with fear. McQueen picked her up and held her as him and Mater focused on Sheriff.
"It all started on a night like tonight. The song dogs were wailing at the moon off Cadilac range while the summerwind blew hot. A young couple was headed down this very stretch of the Mother Road when they spotted an unnatural blue glow. And all that was left was their car and keys. So remember the one thing that angers the ghost light more than anything else is the sound of clenching teeth and biting fingernails." Sheriff explained.

Mater at this point was biting his fingernails and he tried to stop so he sat on the ground to smutty and stay still. Chloe was clinging onto McQueen tightly.
"So as you head home tonight, keep an eye out. The ghost light could be anywhere. Well goodnight!" Sheriff finished and walked off.
"Well I'm bushed. Goodnight." Sally said.
"Goodnight." Everyone said and left except Mater.
Everyone was gone.
"Uh goodnight." Mater said and then the light shut off.
Mater slowly started walking home but was shaking with fear with every step he took. He saw a shadow and quickly shined his flashlight as it only showed a sigh. He sighed in relief and went inside his house. He saw a little light and freaked out.
"Oh no it's the ghost light! I respect thee! Return from where you came!" Mater yelled.
And turned out, it was a lightning bug.
"Oh it's just a lightning bug. Ghost light ain't yella anyhow. Sheriff said the ghost light is blue." Mater said.
Suddenly, a blue glow was behind him. He looked in the mirror and saw the blue light on him.
"THE GHOST LIGHT!!!"
Mater started screaming and running around. What he didn't know what that McQueen and Guido were the ones that put a little blue light on Mater's back. Mater ran around for at least an hour until he stopped at the gang.
"Hey....wait a minute." Mater said pulling the blue light off of him.
Everyone was laughing.
"Gotcha." McQueen laughed as he held a sleeping Chloe in his arms.
"Shoooo I know this was a joke the whole time." Mater smirked.
"You see son the only thing to be scared of out here, is your imagination." Sheriff said.
"Yep that. And of course the screamin' banchi." Doc said, "welp goodnight!"
"Goodnight." Everyone said and disappeared.
Suddenly, the street lights went off.
"The screamin' what?" Mater shook with fear.
He looked behind him and saw a giant monster.
"You better run. They say there's a banchi out here somewhere tonight but I ain't seen him yet. Goodnight." Mater said and walked home.
The banchi was left very confused.

Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent
