《Adopted by McQueen (humanized) Book One》Chapter 4

I woke up back in my bed in the orphanage. How am I here? I walked downstairs and saw McQueen talking to Mrs. Nelson.
"Yeah I don't think it's working out so I brought her back." He said.
My jaw dropped wide open. He didn't want me, just like the other families.
"Alright Mr. McQueen. She'll be in good hands here. Goodbye." Mrs. Nelson replied.
McQueen left and Mrs. Nelson stomped over to me. She grabbed my arm and yanked me across the room.
"Ow!" I yelled.
"I warned you Chloe. You blew your last chance." She said slapping me in the face.
I fell down and she yanked me back up. She opened the door to. . .the dark room. She threw me in and smirked at me.
"Now. Have a nice, dark, quiet, empty, and lonely life." She said slamming the door and locking it.
"NO!" I yelled banging on the door, "LET ME OUT! DADDY HELP ME!"
"Little thunder I'm right here!" A voice yelled in fear.
I woke u to see a very scared McQueen.
"Are you okay? What happened?" He asked as I sat up.
"Just-just. . .just a nightmare." I cried.
Lightning pulled me into a hug. I suddenly realized that I was in a bed.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"A hotel in Connecticut. We decided to rest since you were so tired. Mack is in another hotel room." He answered.
"I feel like a baby." I mumbled wiping my tears.
"You're not a baby." He told me, "Everyone gets nightmares. And sometimes. . .we just can't bare to sleep through them."
I snuggled next to him and he wrapped me in a hug. Tears fell from my eyes and Lightning wiped them away. He softly rocked back and forth until I fell asleep again.
Chloe fell asleep in my arms. She had me so scared. She was yelling her sleep and calling my name. I wonder what she was dreaming about. I didn't to ask her because it looked like it was something she wanted to forget.
I laid down and fell asleep with Chloe still in my arms.

8 202Silent Poetry
(#1 in metaphor)At late nights, I could see those choked words rushing out of my throat-shouting their presence in the ink of the broken pen. They are awake to be in my heart and on this paper. In the soft yellow light of the lamp, I'm weaving them again, breaking the captivity of time. Oh, I'm still writing.
