*BANG BANG BANG*

Lightning's eyes shot open after having a vision of his friends "Hey Lightning! Are you ready?" Mack yelled from outside the trailer. Lightning couldn't keep his mind off his friends but he was determined to keep his mind on the race...."Y-yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm uh I'm ready." Lightning answered putting his tire down on the button on the ground of the trailer. The trailer door opened as a bunch of cars flashed their cameras at Lightning, ecstatic to see he had been found.

Once Lightning got out of the crowd of cars with a sigh he drove up to Mack who had a headset on and a gas can attached to him "Mack, thanks for being my pit crew today." Lightning thanked as Mack put on a smile "Na. Don't worry about it, kid. It's the least I could do. After all, "Gas Can" is my middle name." Mack replied "It is?" Lightning asked a little surprised "Ah...not really."

Lightning was just chilling on the track thinking before a c shaped beam of sunlight hit his eyes making him grunt "Ka-chicka, Ka-chicka, Ka-chicka!" Chick yelled with a laugh as Lightning rolled his eyes. He didn't miss Chick one bit "Hey, where you been, McQueen? I've been kinda lonely. Nobody to hang out with. I mean, except the Dinoco folks. Aw, and the twins. Of course. You know the twins the ones that used to be your fans, but now they're my fans. Anyway, listen to what the twins think..."

Lightning tuned out Chick as Sally on the bridge in front of the water appeared in his vision. Sally glanced at him before the green flag waved making him jump out of his vision. The King and Chick zoomed off fast as Lightning took a few seconds before chasing after them "Boogity, boogity, boogity, boys! Let's go racin'!" Darrell yelled as The King took the lead with Chick right behind him and Lightning trailing far behind but he started to catch up "Fifty laps down, and The King is still holding a slim lead!" Lightning drove up next to Chick "Hey, McQueen's got a run on him! He's looking to the inside!" Just before Lightning could pass Chick, Chick drove right in front of Lightning making him swerve a bit with surprise "Oh, Chick slammed the door on him!"

"Chick's not making it easy on him today." Lightning regained his steadiness and trailed far behind once again "Oh, man, he lost so much momentum, and now he's gonna have to chase him back down!" As Lightning was catching up to the other two racers his vision messed him once again showing Sally driving in front of him in a forest. Lightning put on a little smile but when Sally drove into a puddle his vision disappeared and he saw he was heading straight towards the wall. He turned away just as he was about to crash into it then spinned out into the infield "OH!!! McQueen spins out in the infield!"

The crowd gasps at Lightning almost crashing as Chick just laughs "Just me and the old man, fellas. McQueen just doesn't have it today." Chick said to his pit crew, making them laugh, "Be quiet bozos!" Lightning groaned as he drove back onto the track "Hey, kid, are you alright?" Mack asked, concerned, through his headset "I don't know, Mack..I...I...I don't think I-"

"I didn't come all this way to see you quit." Hearing that familiar voice made Lightning's eyes widened...it can't be..."Doc?" Lightning looked over at his pit area to see most of his friends had come to watch Lightning race, even be his pit crew!...and there was Doc, shining in the spot as the crew chief, and rocking his old racing paint. "Guys, you're here! I can't believe this!" Lightning exclaimed with a wide smile "I knew you needed a crew chief, but I didn't know it was this bad." Doc said, putting on a smile "I thought you said you'd never come back."

"Well, I really didn't have a choice. Mater didn't get to say goodbye." Doc said then Mater leaned in and shouted "GOODBYE! Ok, I'm good." Lightning chuckled "You better thank us!" Grace yelled "Yeah we convinced him." Ivy said, making Doc roll his eyes. Lightning drove over for a pitstop then Fillmore and Sarge began fueling him up "Alright, if you can drive as good as you fix a road, then you can win this race with your eyes shut. Now, get back out there!" Doc said, making Lightning zoom off "GO LIGHTNING!"

"Hot snot, we are back in business!" Doc turned to Guido and Luigi "Guido! Luigi! You're goin' up against professional pit crews boys, you're gonna have to be fast." Doc said as Luigi and Guido looked up at him "They will not know what bit them!" Luigi said slamming his tire down "Kid, you can beat these guys. Find a groove that works for you and get that lap back." Hearing Doc's advice made determination fill Lightning's expression. Lightning then zoomed across the track as fast as the eye can see.

As Lightning was racing the two other pit crews noticed The Fabulous Hudson Hornet as Lightning's crew chief. Which was a big surprise for everyone "Is that...? That's the Hudson Hornet! Bob! Darrel! The Hudson Hornet's back!" All the cameras turned to Doc "It appears McQueen has got himself a pit crew. And look who he has for a crew chief!" At this point everyone had noticed Doc's presence and began cheering.

"Wow, this is history in the making. Nobody has seen the racing legend in over 50-Years!"

"Hey, Doc! Come look at the fellow on the radio! He looks just like you!"

"Look who's happy to see you back." Grace teased making Doc roll his eyes with a chuckle. As The King and Chick were racing by each other Lightning zoomed right past them "McQueen passes them on the inside!" Bob announced as The King and Chick looked at Lightning with disbelief "He's nearly a lap down!" Darrel announced "Can he catch up to them with only 60 laps to go?!"

"You're doing great kid. Just keep your head on." Doc said as they watched Lightning race "Vai! Vai! Vai!" Guido cheered pushing a cart of tires back "Hey, shrimpie, where did McQueen find you, huh?" Guido turned to Chick's Pit crew "Those round things are called tires, and they go under the car!" Chick's crew laughed which triggered "Con chi credi di parlare?! Ma, con chi stai parlando?!" Guido began to drive towards them but Luigi blocked Guido's path with his tire "No, no, no! You'll have your chance, you'll have your chance."

*insert racing lol*

Lightning began to catch up to Chick "Oh, kid's just tryin' to be a hero, huh?" Lightning drives up next to Chick and almost passes him "What do you think of this?" Chick bumped into Lightning making him spin out as his tires screeched "Yeah that's it kid." Chick said thinking Lightning was gone but Lightning then drove up next to him once again but backwards. Once Lightning was in front of Chick, Chick noticed him and he was shocked "WHAT?!" Chick yelled confused "Woah! Git-R-Done!"

Lightning winked at Chick before spinning around and driving forward again "Show him the Radiator Springs style!" Grace and Ivy yelled as Mater laughed "I taught him that!" the two forklifts, that were watching shocked, turned to Mater "Ka-Chow!" Mater shined light off his rear view mirror onto the forklifts' eyes "AH!" They grunted "What a move by McQueen, he's caught up to the leaders!"

"Oh, yeah. This is what it's all about. A 3-way battle for the lead, with 10 to go!" The three racers raced down the track as everyone watched with excitement. When Chick would try and pass Lightning, Lightning would drive in front of Chick blocking him every time. Eventually Chick did come up to Lightning's side "No, you don't!" Chick pressed himself against Lightning causing Lightning's back right tire to blow "Doc, I'm flat! I'm flat!" Lightning yelled "Can you get back to the pits?" Doc asked as a yellow flag was waved "Yeah, yeah. I think so."

"Hey, got a yellow. Bring it in. Don't tear yourself up, kid." A yellow car drove in front of Chick and the King making the two racers slow down "We gotta get him back out there fast or we're gonna be a lap down, and we'll never win this race!" Mack yelled as Grace and Ivy put on smirks "Guido!" Ivy yelled making Guido turn to her "It's your time to shine! You can do this!" Grace said, making Guido put on a look of determination. Lightning drove towards the pit area "Hey, tiny, you gonna clean his windshield?!"

As soon as Lightning stopped Guido quickly tossed the new tires in the air, changed out the old tires, and replaced them with the new tires that fell from the sky. Once Guido was done Lightning zoomed off as Chick's pit crew looked at Guido with shock "I don't believe it!" Darrel yelled "That was the fastest pit stop I've ever seen!" Bob yelled as everyone's eyes locked onto Lightning "It was a great stop, but he's still gotta beat that pace car out!"

"It's going to be close!" Right at the last second Lightning passed the pace car making everyone cheer "Pit stop." The whole crew rushed around Guido cheering him on.

*more racing lol*

"This is it. We're heading into the final lap and McQueen is right behind the leaders. What a comeback!"

"A hundred and ninety-nine laps, and, baby, it all comes down to this!"

"This is it, kiddo. You've got 4 turns left, 1 at a time. Drive it in deep and hope it sticks...GO!" Lightning smirked as he speeded up beside Chick. Chick tried to bump into him again but Lightning backed up to dodge. Chick tried again but Lightning backed up again making Chick hit the wall "OW!" Lightning goes to past The King "McQueen's going inside!" Out of nowhere Chick rammed into Lightning then The King making them both swerve and Lightning drive into the dirt once again "Chick and King are loose!"

"I think McQueen is out of the race!" Lightning suddenly got an idea. He turned his front tires with a smirk as he swerved across the grass "There he goes Doc!" Grace yelled as a smile grew on Doc's face. Lightning then got back onto the track taking first place in front of The King and Chick "McQueen saved it!" Darrel yelled "He's back on the track!"

"Float like a Cadillac-"

"Sting like a Beemer!"

Everyone cheered for Lightning as he drove far ahead of the other two racers "Lightning McQueen is gonna win the Piston Cup!"

"Come on! You got it! You got it, Stickers!

Chick was trying to pass The King, but The King blocked him every time like Lightning did...At this point....Chick was over with The King "I AM NOT COMING IN BEHIND YOU AGAIN, OLD MAN!" Chick rammed right into The King making The King swerve off the track...but that's not it. The King was flung into the air and slammed hard into the ground, The King tumbled onto the dirt a bit before landing upright almost completely totalled...

Everyone gasped as Grace and Ivy went silent...staring at The King with sympathy. His crash was way more horrifying and sad to watch in reality...truly the two got attached to this world. Everyone stared at the King as Lightning looked around confused why no one was cheering. When he looked up at the big screen...he found out when he looked up at the big screen which showed The King in his state....his state reminded Lightning of Doc's state seen in the newspaper...at that moment...Lightning made a decision.

Lightning screeched to a halt right in front of the finish line which both confused and surprised everyone. Everything was silent until Chick crossed the finish line "Yeah! Whoo-hoo! I won, baby! Yeah! Oh, yeah!" Chick cheered as everyone else stayed silent "What's he up to, Doc?" Flo asked as Doc slowly put on a smile. Lightning then reversed back over to The King who grunted "What're you doing, kid?" The King asked a bit confused "I think The King should finish his last race."

Lightning began pushing The King towards the finish line as everyone watched "You just gave up the Piston Cup, you know that?" The King asked, still a little confused "Aw, this grumpy old race car I know once told me something. It's just an empty cup." Lightning said, making Doc smile with satisfaction. Everyone around smiled "Darrell, is pushing on the last lap legal?" Bob asked "Hey, man. He's not really pushing him. He's just giving him a little bump draft."

Chick stopped cheering and looked around "Hey! What?! What's going on?!" Chick asked looking around confused. "WE RAISED THAT BOY!" Ivy yelled with a laugh as Lightning pushed The King over the finish line making everyone cheer and throw their merchandise in the air.

"Bravo il mio amico!"

"Way to go, Buddy!"

"There's a lotta love out there, you know, man?"

"Don't embarrass me, Filmore."

"That's my hotrod."

*Chick Dies lol*

Lightning pushed The King over to the Dinoco stage as Lynda Weathers drove up to Lightning's side and kissed his fender "Thanks, Lightning." Lynda thanked "You're welcome." Lightning replied as he backed up letting Lynda drive up to The King's side. When Lightning drove over to his friends they cheered for him. Lightning turned to Doc who had a warm smile flustered on his face "You got a lotta stuff, kid." Doc said as Grace and Ivy drove up to Lightning's side "Thanks, Doc."

"You did great Lightning." Grace said "Yeah. Even if you didn't win, you have a lot of respect now." Ivy said making Lightning chuckle "Hey Lightning." Lightning turned around to Tex who called out to him "How about coming over here and talk to me a minute?" Tex asked making Lightning turn and drive up to him "Son, that was some real racin' out there. How'd you like to become the new face of Dinoco?" Lightning tensed up....what? He turned to the Dinoco set and the helicopter winked at him "But I didn't win."

"Lightning, there's a whole lot more to racing than just winning." Tex said as Lightning looked over at his friends "He was so rusty, when he drove down the street buzzards used to circle the car!" Everyone laughed making Lightning smile "Thank you, Mr. Tex, but these Rust-eze guys over there gave me my big break. I'm gonna stick with them."

"Well, I sure can respect that. Still, you know, if there's ever anything I can do for you, just let me know."

"I sure appreciate that, thank you... Actually, there's 1 thing..."

-Time skip-

Ivy and Grace were off to the side chatting, making sure no one was around and their voices low. "This was the best little adventure ever!" Grace exclaimed, making Ivy nod her front side "Yeah...but.....how do we get home?" Ivy asked, trying to be as quiet as she can be. Grace paused for a moment "I don't know....maybe we'll just wake up in our world...maybe this is just a dream..." Ivy shook her hood "No this can't be a dream..it feels too real!" Ivy said "Yeah....guess we'll have to wait until night and...go to sleep."
