《Cars to Humans》Chapter 7: The Agency

(Lightning's POV)
I awoke the next morning with a slight headache. I yawned and stretched. The morning sun sent bright rays of light through the cracks of the window blinds. The room was beginning to heat up, due to the lack of air conditioning, so I decided to get up.
I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I combed through my new hair, a technique I learned with ease, and put on clean clothes. After I've readied myself, I walked into the hallway outside my room. The hall was empty. Everybody was probably still asleep, because it was 6:00 in the morning. I walked down the hall and looked around.
This place was huge. The ceilings went on forever, as did the corridors. There were many brightly patterned benches against the walls and numerous paintings cluttered the walls as well. Many gold plaques hung above the many doors along the hallway. I seemed to be in the guest room hall, because ever plaque above the doors read guest. I continued walking down the hall and made a right.
This hall contained many glass offices. There were several copy machines standing outside of office doors and many people bustling about. Many workers were stationed at their desks and typing away on their computers. I walked a little farther until I was out of the office area.
After a few more minutes of wandering around the agency, I decided to head back to my room. I arrived at my room and unlocked the door. I walked in and Scarlet was sitting in one of the chairs.
"There you are Mr. McQueen. I've been waiting for you to return. The boss would like a word with you discussing the situation with your friend at the HIA" she explained.
I smiled and nodded. She led the way out of my room and into the hall. I was so excited. Mater was going to be saved. I was sure of it.

"WHAT!!??"
That was me, screaming, because I couldn't believe what in the world I was hearing. Mr. Spark sighed. "Look Mr. McQueen, we're trying to do what we can, but the computer information we received on your friend says he was never caught and brought to the HIA. It doesn't make any sense. If you both were caught, then where is your friend?"
I shrugged. "I have no idea. I blacked out. When I woke up, I was alone in a jail cell. I never saw Mater."
Mr. Spark nodded. "I see. Well, we will keep searching through their computer system. In the meantime, we have a few tests we need to run to assure you are healthy. Scarlet, would you take Mr. McQueen to the testing lab?" Mr. Spark asked politely.
Scarlet smiled, "I'll get right on it sir."
She motioned for me to get up. I stood and we walked down a few more halls to a laboratory. The room reminded me of the one at the HIA where they were going to inject me with a mysterious, red fluid. I started to become very nervous. Scarlet must have noticed. She put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry sir. You're safe here. We would never hurt you."
She gave me a reassuring smile. I nervously smiled back and sat on the examination table. She took several X-Rays and took some blood samples. After a few hours, she smiled. "Everything looks wonderful Mr. McQueen. Your blood is good and your X-Rays are even better. You'll be set to go home in no time."
I sighed a sigh of relief. I was healthy enough to go home. Soon, anyways. Scarlet led me back to my room. I had suddenly grown very tired. Scarlet helped me into bed and shut the blinds. "There, this will make you more comfortable." she said.
I nodded my thanks, and she exited my room. I closed my eyes. Now the only thing I had to worry about was finding Mater and getting us home before it was too late.
