《Fast Cars Are All You Need》The Final Confrontation (Dom's POV)

I woke up to find Amelia wasn’t in the house. After looking around the house and asking the rest of the crew I found out none of them had seen her since last night either. I walked out back to see if she was in the garage, and that’s when I noticed the challenger wasn’t in the driveway. Amelia hadn’t even touched that car, not even when she first saw it. After letting everyone know the car was missing I got in my car, and went to the garage hoping to find her there. I saw Jared’s car sitting down the road, and sped up. I came to a screeching halt in the drive of the garage.

Jumping out of the car I ran over to the big door, and pulled it opened, and was shocked by the sight that greeted me. There was blood coating a large portion of the floor, and Amelia was standing next to the toolbox completely drenched in blood though most of it looked dried, and she had this strange look in her eyes. I slammed the big door shut and walked over the smaller door, while pulling out my phone and calling Hobbs.

“I found Amelia. She’s at the garage.” I said and opened the door.

“Don’t come any closer.” I heard Amelia say, and I stopped where I was. When I looked up I saw she was now standing next to the challenger with a bloody socket wrench in her hand.

“Get here now.” I said to Hobbs before hanging up the phone and sticking it back in my pocket. I went to approach Amelia when she spoke up again.

“I said don’t come any closer.”

I took the time to study her a bit closer and noticed what was off with her. Her eyes were glazed over, and that’s when I realized she wasn’t seeing me. All she was seeing was another threat. Knowing I wouldn’t get through to her I walked back out to my car to wait. I didn’t have to wait long.

“It’s not pretty.” I said to Hobbs when he went to walk into the garage. He stopped and looked over at me. “She isn’t even with us right now.” He nodded before going through the small door. The next thing I knew I could hear my tools being thrown across my garage.

“Dom, get in here.” I heard Hobbs yell. I walked over to the door and watched him hold a struggling Amelia. “You got any rope in this damn garage?” he asked, and grunted when she landed a kick on his shin. I nodded my head before going over to grab the rope out of the toolbox. I came back to where he was holding her and started to tie up her arms and legs and then tied her to the chair.

“Let me go. Leave me alone. Don’t touch me.” Amelia kept yelling over and over throughout the whole process. She stopped once we were done, and just sat there staring with a vacant look in her eyes.

I looked away from her and texted the rest of the team know what was going on and they quickly showed up.

“I’m going to have to call the cops in.” Hobbs said and I nodded my head that I understood.

I watched as Jen went over and knelt down in front of her. She started talking to her, but it didn’t seem like it was getting anywhere. When the police got there things got really tense until Hobbs showed his badge. The police called in an ambulance to take Jared’s body away and then they started to question us. A young cop walked over to stand in front of me, and started to question me.

“Name.” the cop said.

“Dominic Toretto.”

“How do you know the victim?” the cop asked without looking up.

“He was stalking my girl.”

“Do you know why?”

“They were together a few years back, but she ended up having to do some time. He did some really horrible things to her before she got away though.” That got the cops attention.

“What kind of horrible things, and how do you know it’s true?”

“I don’t know for sure it’s true, Hobbs said he seen the proof a few times though. He used to beat her and rape her. Letty told me she has some horrid scars on her back from the ordeal.” The cop nodded and I could see that hard shell fade a bit.

“What happened here?”

“I’m not quite sure of that myself.” I said looking at where Jared’s body had been.

“That’ll be all for the moment.” The cop said walking away from me. I turned to watch Letty as she walked over to where Amelia was sitting. That was when I saw the first reaction from her, since we had tied her up. She looked directly at Letty and cocked her head to the side like she was trying to remember something. Then she squeezed her eyes shut and started to shake her head back and forth muttering something to herself.

“She the one that did this?” the female officer asked. When no one answered her she spoke up again. “Answer the question, is she the one who did this?” she demanded.

I looked at Amelia one more time before I spoke up. “No I did it.” I said causing the cop that questioned me to look at me knowingly. He walked over to me and started to put my hands behind my back when I heard Amelia speak up.

“No, he’s lying. I killed him, and that camera will prove it.” She shouted at the officers. The man let go of my hands and the female spoke up again.

“Bring me the tape.” She said to me, and then turned to the male. “Put the girl in cuffs.”

When I came back out of the office they had already cut Amelia free and had her hands cuffed behind her back. I put the disc in the computer on the counter and played it for the police. Amelia had done exactly as we taught her. All the camera showed was him repeatedly coming at her and her defending herself from him. It was hard to watch, and when it got to the end I watched her walk over to the sink and wash her hands before she started to clean the garage. This had all happened five hours earlier. We fast forwarded through her obsessive cleaning to where I had walked in, and later to where Hobbs walked in. You could tell just by watching that she wasn’t in her right state of mind.

“I’d like to take this into evidence.” The male officer said. I nodded, and handed over the disc. “Where is the murder weapon?” he asked looking around the garage

“Right here sir.” I heard Amelia say and showed the socket wrench she was holding in her hands. He walked over with an evidence bag, and she dropped it in the bag for him. “There’s also a knife in my right front pocket. Dom would you get it out for the officers please?” she said stepping away from the officer when he went to reach for it.

“You did good.” I told her as I pulled the knife out and gave it to the officer. He walked away and I pulled her into a hug. “You won’t be in there long, I promise.” I told her and backed away from her.

“It’s ok, Dom. I’m free now.” She whispered looking at where Jared’s body had been with a small smile on her lips.

“I’ll do what I can for her.” The male officer whispered patting my shoulder before walking over to where Amelia was. He led her out to the squad car and loaded her into the back. “Feel free to clean the garage and get back to business as usual. The video should be enough evidence.” He said nodding to me before getting into the car. Once both cops had left Hobbs turned to me.

“You two fit well together, you both have a thing for beating people to death with socket wrenches.” Hobbs said, and smiled at me. Everything had gone better than we planned although I wish it hadn’t been at Amelia’s expense. “She’ll be fine.” Hobbs said looking at me. “She’s tough, and she’ll be going in front of a good judge. One that won’t be swayed by her past. One that has gone through the same things she went through, and came out on top.”

Hobbs left taking Jen with him, and I looked over the rest of the crew. “You guys go on ahead. I’m gonna clean up here.” I said, and went to the back to get some things to clean up the garage. When I came back out Brian was the only one still here.

“Hobbs is right you know, she’ll be fine.” Brian said walking over to me and grabbing the mop.

“But she won’t be the same.” I replied looking down at my own hands. “Things like this change you, and not always in a good way.” I said thinking back to when I had attacked that guy with a wrench.

“You’ll get through it together.” Brian said, and started to mop up the blood off the floor. We worked together in silence for the rest of the day, and all I could think about was how broken she had looked when I first walked in. “I think that’s the last of it.” Brian said dropping his rag into the bucket of bloody water.

“I think this is the cleanest this plan has ever been.” I said looking over the garage, and Amelia’s car caught my eye. I walked over to it, and wiped the blood off the roof where she had set the socket wrench down at. “Now we’re done.” I said grabbing the bucket to dump it out.

“What are you going to do if they don’t release her?” Brian asked me when I walked back into the main garage.

“I guess I’ll have to get her out myself if it comes to that.” I said looking him in the eye.

“I got your back no matter what happens.” Brian said. “Now what do you say we head over to the café and grab something to eat.” He said walking out to his car.

I walked out to mine, and drove to the café wondering how Amelia was going to cope with being locked up again.
