When I got to the Toretto house I pulled in the back yard since no one was there. I turned my headlights off and pulled out my cell so I could call Mia. I had to call five times in a row before she finally picked up.

“Hey, Mia here.” She said into the phone, and I could hear engines revving in the background.

“Hey Mia. It’s Amelia. Where are you?” I asked her glancing around to make sure no one had noticed the car parked behind the house.

“I’m out with the guys. What’s wrong Amelia? Are you in some kind of trouble?”

“You could say that. I went to go home and he was waiting for me in my driveway. He found me Mia. I don’t know what to do.”

“Where are you now?”

“Parked in your backyard.”

“Alright I want you to pull back out onto the road and follow my directions.”

“Alright.” I said and started to drive. Once I could hear the noise from the races I knew I was in the right place. I pulled up by where Mia was standing, and got out of the car. I walked over to her, and she wrapped her arms around me to comfort me though to people who didn’t know me well it looked like a greeting.

“You need to tell Dom, now. That guy had been hanging around your place all day. Dom was going to scare him off, but Brian stopped him saying it was probably just a friend of yours.”

“He’s no friend of mine. Getting away from him was the only good thing about ending up in the slammer.” I said as the guys walked over. “Where’s Dom?” I asked Mia while they were still out of earshot. She looked over to the right and I followed her gaze to see Dom surrounded by the race whores.

“What’s going on?” Vince asked pulling my into a hug followed by Brian, Rome, Tej, Leon, Jesse, and even Letty.

“My ex-boyfriend found me.” I said, but Jesse was the only one who seemed to truly understand what that meant.

“Are you sure?” he asked putting a protective arm around my shoulders.

“I’m sure. He was sitting in my driveway when I got home. Needless to say I didn’t stick around, but this will probably be the next place he’ll look.” I said glancing around nervously.

“What do you want us to do?” Jesse asked scanning the crowd as well. Knowing him he probably looked Jared up as well and knew what he looked like.

“I don’t know. I’m just not ready to face him yet.”

“Alright, what’s going on with this ex, and why are you the one place you said you wouldn’t come with us to?”

“I can’t.” I said shaking my head and looking up at Jesse.

“I know the rap sheet of what he did, but only you know the full details.”

“That will have to be enough for now.”

He nodded his head before leading the guys away to explain how I had been abused on many levels by the man who told me he loved me, and cared about me. To tell them how broken I was.

“Is Dom mad at me for earlier?” I asked Mia as I glanced back over at Dom. He was talking to the guy who runs the parts store now. Hector I think his name was, but girls still surrounded him and his car.

“Not mad really, just confused. He doesn’t understand what he did.” Mia said watching the emotions play across my face as I watched him.

I nodded my head before uttering the stupidest words of my life. “Any idea how much the buy in is?”

“Normally its two grand.” Mia said smiling at me.

I handed her the two grand before climbing back into my car. “Could you take that over to Hector for me?”

She nodded and hurried over to where Hector stood. I saw the look of shock appear on both Dom’s and Hector’s faces before she explained the buy in wasn’t hers, but for a friend. “We have a race.” Hector yelled out causing everyone to cheer, before they jumped in their cars. Mia Ran back over to my car jumping into the passenger seat.

“Follow the rest of the cars.” She said buckling her seatbelt. I looked over to where the guys had been standing, and raised my hand as if to say I’d see them later, they returned the gesture and then turned back to Jesse before they split apart, and got into their own cars. I followed the rest of the cars to the street that the racers’ edge was on and watched as hundreds of cars lined up to make the runway.

“Good luck.” Mia said getting out of the car and walking over to where Brian was standing. I was the last to pull up to the finish line. I smirked when I looked over and seen the confidence in the other guys face.

He doesn’t stand a chance I thought to myself before placing a CD in my radio. I had my windows rolled up already because I hadn’t rolled them down in the first place. I looked over and saw Dom talking shit with the guy next to him in the car, and couldn’t help but laugh. I turned the CD to song six, and turned it was up with M.I.A’s song Bad Girls blaring through my speakers. I watched as Hector pointed toward Dom and his engine roared, then the next car, the one next to me and finally me. I had put my car in park so I floored the gas and watched as the crowd went wild. I watched the flag as Hector threw it in the air. He ran out of the way and the flag hit the ground. I was the last one to leave the starting line, but that didn’t last long, within seconds I was neck and neck with Dom. He hit his NOS, and just after that I hit mine. It was so close that neither Dom nor I knew which one had won. I watched as Hector drove up, and called two people out of the crowd, I noticed they had cameras. After he looked back and forth between the two cameras he pointed at my car. I opened the door of my car, and stepped out of the car singing along to the chorus.

“Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well.” I sang before closing the door and silencing the song. I walked over to where Hector stood and looked at the two cameras. I smiled when I saw that my car had crossed the line a half an inch before Dom’s. I took the money Hector held out to me, and then looked around at the people surrounding me. I froze as I spotted Jared standing in the crowd. The rest of the crew surrounded me then someone climbed in my car and drove away.

“Vince has your car. Let’s go.” I heard Mia whisper in my ear as the crew carried me over to where Dom was standing. “Dom, we need to get home. No parties tonight.”

Dom looked over and nodded seeing that I was still here, he thought I had left in my car. “Did he fall for it?” I whispered into Letty’s ear afraid that if I looked around he would see me.

“He driving the red Camaro?” Letty asked back. I nodded my head. “Looks like it, he’s driving off in the direction your car went.”

I looked up at her in shock. I thought Vince would have been smarter than that. “He’ll hurt Vince if he catches him.”

“I know that. Vince knows that to. That’s why Vince won’t let him catch up.”

Letty opened the passengers door of a car for me before ushering me into it, at first I thought it was her car until Dom slid into the driver’s seat.
