《It's All For You》11 | flirt

I searched my closet like a madman for anything purple. I didn't own anything freaking purple. I looked so deep in my closet I swore I went to Narnia.
After some more looking, I found a dark purple romper with spaghetti straps, a plunging neck line, and a strap around the waist to make my waist appear smaller.
I remembered this romper as Gina's. She left it here last time she was over. She wanted to show me everything she bought at the mall. I put it on. Gina was a size smaller than me so the chest area was tight.
I stood in front of my full body mirror and I touched my cleavage. It looked good. It stopped at the center of my chest. Thank god for built in bras. I put on a pair of black heels.
I touched my slightly oily hair. I haven't taken a shower since that night Florencio picked me up. I sprayed some dry shampoo in it. It added a lot of volume and texture.
Then I went to my vanity and wiped my face with a makeup wipe. I quickly did my brows, mascara, concealer, powder and blush to make me look alive. I applied a nude lipgloss.
I grabbed a small black purse and put my phone, wallet and keys inside.
I felt like I took forever. It was only five.
Although I felt and knew I looked good, I was still nervous to see Florencio.
When I left my room, Florencio was sitting on the couch, elbows on his knees. He looked so good in his black dress shirt, black jeans and dress shoes. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up, showing off his defined forearms.
He got up, looked at me up and down. His eyes lingered on my legs and chest.
I touched my chest lightly, my confidence slowly fading from his lack of... talking. His eyes followed my fingertips. I put my hand down.
"You know," I laughed. "This is the only purple thing I have. I looked through my clothes so many times. I saw the same stripped shirt at least fifty times."

He still didn't say anything. He was biting his lip.
"Sorry for taking so long," I murmured. I walked past him, shivering at the thought of him grabbing me while I did. He didn't.
When we got in the car I asked him, "where'd you get the extra clothes?"
"I had them in the trunk," he replied.
I nodded and leaned my head against the window.
The ride was almost two hours. I was asleep for the last half of it.
I woke up to Florencio gently shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes and he was standing outside, holding the door open.
I got out and walked with him into the expensive restaurant. I felt nervous walking in. Florencio had his hands in his pockets and I had to rely on my purse to give me comfort. I swear I almost ripped the thing in half.
When we entered, Florencio didn't talk to the hostess and she didn't look at him.
I followed closely behind him, afraid to look at anything but his back.
We reached our table. It was at the back of the restaurant where there was barely anyone.
We sat at the table and three other men were sitting there. They didn't tell me their names and Florencio didn't introduce me so I didn't say anything. I gave a polite smile though.
The other men were taking to Florencio in Spanish and I had a feeling it was because I was there.
The only one who didn't participate in the conversation was the one sitting across from me.
He looked just as bored as I felt.
I kicked his shin lightly under the table. Then I scooted to the end of the table and so did he.
"Are they talking in Spanish because I'm here?" I whispered.
He smiled. "That's the first thing Florencio said when he sat down. He said, and I quote, don't talk in English around her."
I scoffed and looked at Florencio. He looked so beautiful it was hard to be mad at him.

I smiled kindly. "Tell me what they say?"
He shook his head. "Unless you want to die—"
My scared face made him laugh. His blue eyes sparkled with amusement.
"I'm joking, but no. I really can't tell you what they're saying."
I nodded and sighed. "So... how'd you get into this world?"
He looked hesitant to tell me but he did. "I was in college, dirt broke, and I met David—" he nodded his head to the man next to him. "And hearing about the money benefits, I joined." He scratched the back of his head.
I smiled. "Thank you for telling me."
He grinned. "You have a beautiful smile."
I blushed. "Such a flirt."
He chuckled.
My stomach growled. "Are we ever going to eat?" I looked around for a waiter.
He shook his head. "No eating at these things. It's like these guys never get hungry."
I don't think I have ever seen Florencio really eat.
"Drinks aren't opposed though. Want one?" He asked.
"Iced tea," I told him.
"No alcohol?" He questioned.
I felt embarrassed. "I turn nineteen in a few weeks."
"I'll get you something from the bar then, don't worry, love."
I leaned forward on my elbows and Florencio glanced at me. I stared at him. His eyes traveled down to my chest. He took a drink of his beer and involved himself in the conversation again.
Blue eyes came back and gave me a glass of red wine. He had a beer in his other hand.
I stared at it.
"You don't have to drink it," he laughed. "I honestly got it just in case you didn't want it and gave it to me." He pulled a can of ginger ale out of his pocket. "Want this instead?"
I nodded. "Thanks." We exchanged drinks.
I drank my ginger ale fast, trying to fill in the feeling of being hungry.
After an hour of me and blue eyes talking, him occasionally having to jump in, Florencio ended the conversation with the men.
I got up and hugged blue eyes. "Thanks for being the most interesting person here tonight," I whispered.
He hugged me tighter. "Thanks for being such a pleasure. Florencio is lucky."
That shocked me. "Um, w-we I'm not sure if we're—" Florencio tugged me out of the restaurant and I waved goodbye to the men. Mostly to blue eyes.
When we got in the car Florencio said, "got comfy with Max?" He looked angry.
I wanted to laugh. "Are you jealous, honey?" I used the nickname he often used for me.
He let out a strangled laughed.
"Max was really nice," I commented. "His eyes were so pretty. I love blue."
The smile on his face was gone.
"I'm starving. Why didn't we eat? Are you a vampire or something? Because if you are, I don't think we can be—" together, I was going to say. But we weren't together. Were we?
"What?" He asked harshly. "Together?"
I gulped. "Max wasn't that handsome. His hair isn't as nice as yours."
He grinned. "Honey, are you hungry?"
I crossed my arms. "Yes. I want a burger from McDonald's."
His eyebrows scrunched up. "I'll make you food at my house."
I frowned. "No... drop me off at home."
I didn't think he'd listen to me but he did. We soon pulled up to my house and before I got out, Florencio grabbed my hand and pulled me to him.
I didn't know what he was going to do, but when he leaned forward and kissed my shoulder, I shuddered. I whimpered when he bit my shoulder, hard. He soothed the pain with his tongue.
I stuttered a goodbye and ran inside.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment.
