《fatal || yang jungwon》014

"You fucking scared me!"
I looked up from my sitting position at the other's sudden outburst, while still holding the frozen spoons on top of my eyes.
"Jungwon? What are you doing?" Ni-ki's eyes were wide open when I huffed a breath, standing up again.
The younger was probably just about to get himself breakfast while I was in the kitchen.
"Do you know how to get rid of puffiness? As fast as possible?" I defeatedly put down the spoons, sighing.
"Why? Did you have a late night snack?" The younger tilted his head, shrugging at the same time, "Is your face puffy?"
"No, but my eyes." I shook my head, "My eyes are so puffy and red. I need to get rid of them befo—"
"Ni-ki! Jungwon! The manager is waiting for us!"
The two of us heard Sunghoon say, who already grabbed his jacket and ran outside of our dorm, making me and Ni-ki look at each other in shock.
Shit.
"Not even the make up artist will be able to cover that up." Ni-ki cackled to himself, glancing at Jungwon again who on the other hand was busy staring at his phone camera, in hope that the redness in his eyes and face would disappear.
"What happened?" Jay asked, turning around as well, "Did you watch Titanic?"
"No." Jungwon shook his head, "I talked to a friend last night."
"And...?" Ni-ki dragged out his words, wiggling his eyebrows in a teasing manner.
"And what?"
"You cried." Jay eventually joined the conversation.
"So what?" The boy growled, rolling his eyes with a pout.
"We have an interview today." Jay continued, a little more serious this time, "I'm sure even with the editing you will still look tired."

"I'm sure it won't be too obvious, so don't worry." Jungwon quickly reassured the others and himself, looking away. He was done talking about this topic, trying to shake away the feeling of just wanting to stay at home.
And even though he loved it, there were times where he wasn't feeling like fulfilling his duties and attending all the schedules as a celebrity.
Before he put in his earphones to fade out everything that was around him, he stopped for a moment, reminiscing his conversation with the girl last night.
He tried to imagine her face. Her tearful face and her trembling hands while she told him her story.
He didn't know how she looked like.
He didn't care.
But Jungwon still remembered how fast his heart was beating, how touched and how sad he was.
She went through so much. And he felt guilty for not being by her side all this time.
But that was one more reason for him to do his best.
To make her happy again.
No matter what.
After that call, the two individuals have been chatting with each other a lot more frequently. It brought them closer and Jungwon knew that something changed within him. He just wasn't sure what it was.
Jungwon and Ji both felt like they've finally met their lifelong friend after all this time.
There wasn't a time where the girl didn't text him in between her shifts at the convenience store or at night when she couldn't sleep.
And he would do the same.
They were slowly getting to know each other, collecting small but important facts about one another and laughing at all the similarities and differences they had.
Jungwon's worried voice made the girl chuckle.
"
She could practically hear his pout.
Jungwon sighed in disappointment, glancing at his members changing into their stage clothes already.

And she hung up on him.
Jungwon who was now sulking even worse than before, put down his phone and went to change into his stage outfit as well.
Little did he know that his fellow members were watching him the whole time the call lasted. They couldn't help but chuckle at their leader's childish behavior, before they put in their ear pieces, ready for stage.
The girl was ready too.
She put down her phone and sandwich, which she bought herself, before straightening her shirt to look presentable enough.
With a content smile on her face, she politely greeted the countless costumers entering the convenience store she was working in. They, on the other hand would ignore her.
Her job at the convenience store was one of the more comfortable ones she had. Except for the people, it was great. She had enough breaks and it wasn't too physically exhausting.
She would be fine.
If she didn't had a bunch of other jobs on top of that.
"Welcome." She smiled at a group of students, who were a little younger than her age.
The were proudly showing off their school uniform, giggling and whispering to themselves.
As a cashier, Ji would come across a lot of different people that she had become great at predicting their personality and mood. She would spot the easy-angered and moody ones right away, being especially cautious around them. It wouldn't be the first time that costumers picked a fight with her for no reason.
But this group of teenagers seemed harmless in her eyes.
"Is that all?" Ji continued to smile as one of them nodded. She gently put the beverages and snacks into a small bag, "That will be 5.500 won then."
"Here you go." Another one put a few banknotes on the cash desk as the girl gratefully took it.
"Thank you for your purchase." Ji added, her face muscles already hurting from constantly smiling.
Before they exited, Ji could catch a part of one girl's voice.
"Did you watch enhypen's latest interview? Jungwon looked so tired as if he would faint any second. I'm worried!"
Ji's attention has been caught.
Jungwon? Like the boy from the suicide hotline?
Was Jungwon such a common name?
She didn't know.
The girl usually didn't care about other people's business, but she couldn't help but feel curious when his name was mentioned.
Quickly, she turned on her phone, typing in the letters of how she thought enhypen sounded like and clicked on the first video that was recommended to her.
There were three things she then realized.
One, she miserably spelled the name of the boy group enhypen wrong, writing "n-hi pen" instead.
Two, it was the same boy she saw at an advertisement a long time ago.
And three, the good-looking, but really tired looking boy that introduced himself first was named Jungwon. And coincidentally it looked a little too similar to the boy she was texting with.
The dimples, the smile. Heck— even the voice.
The girl almost dropped her phone in shock,
"No...fucking way."
