"Let's go, hurry up. The bewitching hour is about to begin." Dave called up the stairs.
Dani came running down the stairs and jumped at her dad, making him recoil and pretend to be scared.
Max slumped down the stairs as well, in a cap and sunglasses.
"What are you supposed to be, Max?" His dad asked.
"A rap singer." Max numbly replied.
"Oh. Well then your hat should be on sideways, shouldn't it?" Dave reached up and fixed it.
"Say Halloween!" Jenny exclaimed, holding up her camera.
"Halloween!"
"Halloween!"
Dani and Dave shouted, while Max just stood there.
...
Max sat on the steps of a house, checking his watch as Dani came back from getting her candy.
"Lighten up Max." Dani rolled her eyes.
"Can we go home now?" Max whined.
"Max?" A voice called.
Max and Dani looked over to see (Y/n) walking up to them.
"Oh, hey (Y/n). What are you doing here?"
"I was just on my way to work. You doing some trick or treating?" She asked.
"I'm just taking my sister Dani around." Max shrugged, gesturing to his sister.
"Well hello there. I like your costume." (Y/n) commented.
"Thanks. I'm a big fan of witches." Dani said.
"Hmm...well so am I." She winked.
The three heard a commotion and turned to see Jay, Ice and few of their friends terrorizing some kids, taking their candy and throwing pumpkins into the street.
"Ugh, great." (Y/n) muttered, rolling her eyes.
"Let's just go this way." Max suggested, but Dani held her head up and went to walk past them.
"She's brave, I'll give her that." (Y/n) shrugged.
Ice put his foot up to block Dani's path. "Ding ding. Ding ding."
"Stop and pay the toll kid." Jay demanded.
"Ten chocolate bars, no licorice." Ice said.
"Dump out your sack."
"Drop dead. Moron." Dani insulted.
The guys 'oohed' at her response and Ice got in her face.
"Yo, twerp. How'd you like to be hung off that telephone pole?" Ice threatened.

"I'd like to see you try, because it just so happens I've got my big brother with me. Max!" Dani called over her shoulder.
"You're up slugger." (Y/n) patted his shoulder.
Max took off his glasses and came forward.
"Hollywood?" Ice and Jay laughed, and pretended to be scared.
"So, you're doing a little trick or treating." Jay noticed, and then pretended to ring a doorbell.
"I'm just taking my little sister around." Max corrected.
"That's nice." Jay mocked.
"Hey, Jay, lay off." (Y/n) said coming forward.
"Ooh, I see you got miss (Y/n) with you. What's a pretty girl like you doing with Hollywood huh? Why don't you come hang out with us instead?" Jay suggested, looking her up and down, as his friends nodded and whistled in agreement.
(Y/n) rolled her eyes in disgust. "Not if you were the last guys on Earth."
Jay didn't have a comeback so he went back to Max again.
"Woah! I love your costume. But what are you supposed to be, a New Kid on the Block?" Jay burst out laughing.
"For your information, he's a Little Leaguer." Dani sassed.
Ice and Jay laughed and pretended to play baseball. Max rolled his eyes and started to walk off but Ice stopped him.
"Wait a minute. Everybody pays the toll."
"Stuff it zit face." Dani snapped.
"Why you little-!" Ice made to go closer to Dani, but Max stepped in front of him.
"Hey, Ice here. Pig out." Max handed Ice his bag and grabbed Dani's arm.
"And Hollywood, the shoes fit great!" Ice called after them.
"I hope you choke on that chocolate, Ice." (Y/n) said as she walked past them.
"Awe, come on, baby. Don't be like that!" Ice yelled after her.
...
"You should have punched him." Dani told Max, as she went up the stairs to the next house.
"They would have killed me." Max said.
"At least you would've died like a man."
"Hey!" Dani turned to look at him. "You just humiliated me in front of half the guys at school! So collect your candy and get out of my life!" He yelled.

"I wanna go home, now!" Dani exclaimed as she stomped back down the stairs.
Max quickly followed after her to apologize.
...
Dani collapsed into a pile of hay and started crying. Max shortly came after her and sat down.
"Dani, I'm sorry. It's just that I hate this place. I miss my friends. I wanna go home!" Max complained.
"Well, this is your home now. So get used to it." Dani said.
"Gimme one more chance?" Max asked.
"Why should I?"
"Cause I'm your brother?"
Dani turned to look at Max and saw that he was pouting, making her laugh.
"Woah, check that out." Max whispered, as he looked up at the sky.
"What?" Dani asked, as they both stood up.
"Something just flew across the moon."
Dani looked up, and while she was distracted, Max yelled and grabbed her, making her scream and laugh.
"Let's go, Jerkface." Dani laughed.
Max and Dani turned around and were met with a huge white house.
"Woah! Check out this house." Max gasped.
"Eh, rich people." Dani shrugged. "They'll probably make us drink cider, bob for apples."
Dani and Max exchanged a glance, and nodded at each other.
...
"Trick or treat!" They both called into the house.
Dani looked around and spotted a bowl with big candy bars in it.
"Woah, Jackpot!" She exclaimed, and she and Max rushed forward.
"Max Dennison." A voice said.
Max looked up to see Allison standing on the stairs dressed in a dress from the 1700s. It looked like her parents were throwing a 1700s party.
"Allison!" Max squeaked.
"Oh, Allison, huh?" Dani teased.
"I thought you weren't into Halloween." She commented as she came down the stairs.
"I'm not, I'm just taking my little sister Dani around." Max explained.
"That's nice."
"I always do it." He bragged
"My parents made him." Dani snitched, and he nudged her.
"You guys want some cider?" She offered.
"Sure."
"No."
Allison got some cider for her and Max at the snack table and handed him a cup.
"Thanks. So how's the party?" Max asked as he drank his cider.
"Boring. It's just a bunch of my parents friends. They do this every year. I've got candy duty. By the way, Dani, I love your costume."
"Thank you. I really like yours too. Of course, I could wear anything like that because I don't have any...What so you call them Max? Yabos?"
Max choked on his drink and Allison laughed.
"Max likes your yabos. In fact, he loves em."
Max's eyes looked like they were gonna pop out of his sockets.
"I'm really into witches." Allison said.
"Really? Me too. We just learned about those siblings in school."
"You mean the Sanderson Siblings? I know all about them. My mom used to run the museum." Allison exclaimed.
"There's a museum about them?"
"Yeah, but they shut it down because a lot of spooky things happened there." Allison said mysteriously.
"Well why don't we go to this old Sanderson house?" Max suggested.
Both Dani and Allison looked hesitant.
"Come on, make a believer out of me."
"Okay. Let me get changed. They'll never miss me."
Allison marched up the stairs to change and Dani immediately started panicking.
"Max, we're not going up there. My friends at school told me all about that place. It's weird."
"Dani, this is the girl of my dreams." Max sighed dreamily.
"So, take her to the movies like a normal person." Dani whined.
"Dani! Look, just do this one thing for me and I'll do anything you say. Please, please, please?" He begged, on his knees.
"Okay. Next year we go trick or treating as Wendy and Peter Pan. With tights, or it's no deal." She demanded.
Max paused for a moment before agreeing. "Okay, okay. Deal, deal."
