i grin at the interactions in the comments, and the random people complimenting me. i go downstairs to make myself some breakfast before school. to no surprise, my parents aren't there, but there's a sticky note on the table.

i smile and put the note inside my pocket as i pour myself a bowl of cheerios.

after i get ready, i drive to school. once there, i start to walk on campus when i'm tackled in a hug. i turn around and see lindsay clinging onto my back.
"woah, hey there!" i say surprised.
"hello, valerieinnit," lindsay smirks. i chuckle and lightly shove her.
"step off."
"i watched the whole thing. the entire show and your entire date. i sat through seven hours of you and tommy's crap."
"don't pretend you didn't like it." lindsay shrugs and smiles.
"it was alright. he commented on your picture today, so you guys are still in touch?"
i grin, thinking back to our promise.
"can we promise that we'll keep in touch?"
the words float around my head and play on constant loop. the tiredness of his voice mixed with genuine feelings of care make my heart leap just thinking about it.
"yeah. still in touch." i turn to lindsay and give her a closed mouth smile.
during school, i feel like i'm constantly watched. people whisper to each other as i pass by and random people i have never seen before are calling out to me by name.
even in calculus, my teacher asks how "my dating show" went. i bury my face in my hands to cover my flushed, embarrassed face.
once school is over, i drive back home and flop myself onto my bed.
i knew lindsay told some people about the show, but how does my freaking calculus teacher know about it?
i decide to text lindsay to get some answers.
