(Y/N)'s POV
I didn't really get much thinking done.
My brain was trying to work so hard, that it wasn't working at all. I just let my feet take me wherever, and walked silently down the halls.
The only sounds I could hear were the distant thrum of the factory and the chaos of my thoughts. None of which made any sense. Nevertheless I continued to nowhere in particular.
Finally I noticed a familiar location. The elevator. I pressed the button, and waited a solid three minutes. The doors opened to the Duke's friendly face.
"Back so soon?" He may have been asking a question, but it sounded like he expected me.
"Yeah... I can't sleep."
I didn't explain why, and he didn't ask about it. Quietly he pulled a few blankets out from behind him and handed me them. I made a spot on the floor and layer down.
After a few noisy minutes he handed me a glass of what looked like caramel. I took the glass with some slight hesitation and tentatively sniffed it. Nothing. It smelt like nothing.
I took a sip and my body almost instantly slowed down. My insane thoughts stopped and my heart calmed. Not only that but it tasted heavenly.
"It isn't drugged, though it does cause drowsiness."
I looked up at him and my vision slightly blurred. Quickly I handed him the barely drained glass and fell softly into the mound of blankets. Almost as soon as I was comfortable, my body shut off and I drifted into a comfortable sleep.
"Goodnight (Y/N). You'll be able to figure this out in the morning."
I'd been awake for only five minutes and I already wanted to pass out again. On top of all that, I couldn't find the kid anywhere.
Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I walked down the halls quickly checking through rooms. I really didn't want to search the whole factory...
|Time Skip|
After searching almost the entire factory, I was about to give up. So I decided to take the old elevator back up. I pressed the button and the doors opened to a weird sight. (Y/N) was passed out on the floor drooling, while the Duke sat calmly reading his ledger.
"Good evening, my lord. It seems you stumbled in at the wrong time." I exchange some small talk for a minute before turning my attention to the kid.
They were swaddled in a large mass of blankets, but surprisingly they were still shivering. Every few seconds they would mutter something that sounded like Miranda...
I pressed the top button and waited. It wasn't silent, but the quietness of the room made me unsettled. Finally I picked the kid off and turned to head out.
"Thanks for watching them."
(Y/N)'s POV
My sleep was filled with crazy dreams, that went something like this...
I opened my eyes to see a women crying above me. It looked like she was holding a baby. I tried to move but it felt like a ton of bricks was crushing me.
Soon I was lowered down and my world went suffocatingly black. Then another scene appeared.
I still couldn't move but all my senses seemed to work. A different women stood above me, holding a child. Her face was blurry but instead of crying, she was... smiling.
My vision slowly got blurry as dirt was shoveled over me, by a blurry faced man. Before my vision went completely black, the blurry faces came into focus.
Mother Miranda and... Heisenberg.
I gasped as I sat straight up. A cold chill when down my spine as I saw Heisenberg in the corner of the room. I couldn't tell if he was awake of not, but I was scared none the less. Slowly I got out of the bed, careful not to make a sound.
"Where are you going?" Heisenberg's gravely voice asked from behind me, making me jump. I ignored him and continued towards the door. I heard him get up which only made me go faster.
"Hey!-" He grabbed me from behind. -"Where are you going?!" I tried to push away from him but it didn't work, he was bigger and had a firm grip on my arms.
"(Y/N), STOP!" The sudden harshness in his voice made me stop. I stared up into his eyes, tears threating to escape. Everything was going so fast. I didn't know what was real or not anymore. The dream seemed so real, but I didn't want to believe that....
"What did you do? How did Miranda get me? What happened to my parents?!"
He was silent. His arms dropped and he turned away. This only made me assume the worst.
"I used to preform burials for the village, both your parents... died. That bitch took you for experiments because you had no living family left..." My head fell as some of my fears were confirmed.
I walked out leaving him standing there.
|Time Skip|
The sun was rising on the village. I was to confused and angry to care. I didn't care where I was headed either...
My thoughts kept rushing back to what Heisenberg said "both your parents... died." It didn't sound like the full truth.
I made my way up a set of stairs. There a was a sign a while back but I didn't bother to read it.
The stairs led to an open area filled wth large rock ledges and a strange stick statue. I continued down the paths.
Soon the area opened up to a large structure. It was broken in multiple places and looked more like ruins than a building. Somehow it made me feel safe.
A howl came from behind me followed by a handful of others. I turned quickly and came face to face with a snarling mouth filled with sharp teeth. I backed up slightly but stood my ground.
More of the wolf creatures appeared and started circling around me like I was food. If my instincts taught me anything, it was not to show fear.

I stood my ground but they continued circling. One of the creatures behind me grabbed my sleeve and pulled me through a gate. Try as I might, I couldn't get out of its grasp.
Every once in a while the thing would let go of me and make me climb up a wall, which I was surprisingly good at. Finally though we made it to a big room.
All of the creatures backed up and left me in the middle of the room. I didn't know what they were doing, but it didn't sit right.
The room started to shake. I looked around but couldn't see anything yet. Before I even had time to comprehend it, a giant creature, 3x the size of the others, jumped down.
It roared into my face, it's breath smelling like rotting flesh. I thought I was a goner. Then it just stopped. I could hear my heart beating out of my chest it was so quiet.
Just like with before I showed none of my fear, which was eating away at me from the inside. I screamed back.
All of the anger I had at Heisenberg and Mother Miranda came out. Every thought came out in one long burst. I let everything go.
I took a deep breath and sat on the floor. Everything was happening so fast and I just wish it would stop.
A large hand was placed on my back and I looked up to see the giant. It's face was no longer filled with rage. Slowly it sat down in front of me, hammer forgotten.
I was still a little hesitant but I moved closer. My hands were shaking, but I slowly reached towards it.
My hand collided with its face and I felt the tough hair. It was somehow coarse and soft at the same time, and I could feel myself calming down. Gently I removed my hand.
The creature stood, and helped me up. Even as it bent over, it was still twice my size.
They all led me out towards the exit then let me go. I didn't really want to head back to Heisenberg's factory but it was the one of the only places I knew I could go, and it was close by.
I had only made it about halfway to the factory when I realized I was being watched. Some of the wolf creatures sat on the rooftops watching me.
"Get down from there, all of you." After a some small hesitation, they listened. I was a bit surprised but didn't think anything of it.
"You guys didn't need to follow me I'm... fine. Go back to your den."
I got a few strange looks from them, but most of them shuffled away. Except the one in the front. The same one who had dragged me into their den in the first place.
A small noise came from him. It sounded like a sigh, then he backed off.
Surprisingly I made it back to the factory in one peice. What was even more suprising, was that Heisenberg was waiting for me when I got there.
He seemed agitated, which scared me. When he saw me though, he sighed in relief.
"Come on, Miranda needs all of us for her fucking ritual."
I had no idea what he was talking about, but he dragged me along anyways.
"Oh you brought the kid. They won't be needed." Miranda gave me the most disgusted look ever which I happily returned.
"You will sit outside until the ritual is complete." With one final ugly expression she closed the door, leaving me outside... at least I had a good view.
Instead of sitting in one place forever, I decided to walk around. I turned the corner of the building to a familiar face. The wolf leader.
Heisenberg had said that its name was Uriás, during our short discussion on our way over here.
"Hey..." I sounded so stupid.
He made a motion, which somehow I knew ment get on.
As soon as I climb on his back he jumped off the small cliff. Down into the village.
"Well, we meet again."
Although my vision was slightly blurred from dizziness, I turned to look at the Duke. Somehow he was here, as well as his cart, and all his ingredients.
Uriás carefully sat me down on the solid ground and I almost fell over. After I didn't feel like throwing up anymore I asked a few questions.
"Why was I brought here? What type of ritual were they doing up there? And How did you get here!?"
He let out a small sigh as if he was getting tired of explaining things to people.
"Uriás brought you here because, you needed him too. The ritual, lets just say... Miranda is preparing to bring her child back, and-"
"(Y/N)!"
Heisenberg was yelling for me and in a split second I was swept off the ground and onto Uriás' back. Then we were off the ground, jumping back to where we came.

What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
