"What's your favorite color?" Ethan asked, genuinely curious.

Jasmine smiled, surprised that Ethan said something since he hasn't talked the whole time (just nodding his head to yes and no questions), "I like a mixture between green and brown-- like a hazel color."

"Why?"

"Because it's a mixture of life, green, like you said, and the dismal parts of it, brown. It shows that life isn't always perfect, that it's tough and it has its inauspicious parts to it, too." Jasmine looked up at Ethan, he didn't look away this time and she noticed that her favorite color was the same color as his eyes.
