"What's your favorite color?" Jasmine asked spontaneously, looking up at the broken boy in front of her.

"Green." Ethan answered almost immediately.

"Why is that?" She asked him, hoping that she would be able to kindle a spark that would inspire a new journal entry.

"Because to me, green means life. Green means wealth. Green means health. The color green is pretty much everything I don't have." Ethan said, "I'm basically jealous of a color because it has more than I have."

Jasmine frowned at the sad boy in front of him. She wanted to make him feel worth everything in the world, because that's what he deserves - no matter the cost.
