《Sold To The Gangleader》Chapter 40

I decided to wear my black crop top with grey shorts but now I'm starting to reconsider, as I stare down at myself with a grim expression.

I usually wear baggy full sleeved shirts along with leggings but the butthole didn't bother grabbing my bottom drawer stuff.

Oh and I decided against wearing a bra. I never do in summer, and these crop tops reach up to my collarbone, so they aren't even that noticeable.

I tug on the hem of my shorts. Gosh showing my belly and arms are one thing but my legs. Ugh.

Doesn't help that I have an outie belly button. Looks weird but yanno what....I don't even care.

When I hear a door open, I snap my head to the right. A really tall man exits from the door next to the restroom with a bunch of keys in his hand. He was about 6ft tall, looked to be around his early 30s.

His dark brown hair is gelled backwards, and he's wearing a white half-sleeved shirt- showing off his big muscles-(but not as big as Killian's)- with that he had on a pair of grey joggers.

He didn't notice me, as he then turned and locked the door before making his way to the exit.

"Um, hello!" I call out. He stops in his tracks and immediately looks at me and I begin to wave, with a big smile on my face.

He grins back, before giving me a small wave. "Hey there." His deep voice rumbled in a a slight Italian accent.

I quickly zip up the luggage, before making my way over to him.

"Are you the pilot?" I ask, as I stop just in front of him, up close I notice he has dark brown eyes, and tanned skin along with a bit of stubble.

He gives me a pearly white smile, nodding his head.

"You must be, Layla, right?" He crosses his arms, and I notice a ring on his wedding finger.

"Yeah, Layla Brooks." I nod. "Nice to meet you." I bring my hand up for him to shake, and he lets out a small chuckle.

"Likewise. I'm Alfonso Luca." He says, before accepting it, giving it a firm shake.

Alfonso Luca.

Luca.

Where have I heard the name Luca before?

"Oh!" I lift my finger up. "I had an English teacher and she has a son called Luca!"

He lets out a laugh. "Oh?"

I nod. "I really liked her, she was always so nice and that's why I was passing my English class, you're Italian right? her husband is Italian aswell and--"

I cut myself off when his phone begins to ring. He fishes his phone out of his pocket, and I tiptoe and look to see who it is.

Killian.

I look back up at him and meet his eyes which are full of amusement. "Give me a minute, tesoro." He mutters, before his eyes flicker elsewhere as he accepts the call.

Tesoro. Tesco?

He listens to Killian speak, as he shoves his keys to his pocket.

He sounded a bit angry.

Oh shit, I just realised I've spent over twenty minutes in here.

"Yes, lei è carina."

I snap my eyes back at him, as he speaks in Italian, his own eyes flickering to mine.

He's talking about me?

Speak English damn it.

"ok calmati." He then mutters after a moment, rolling his eyes.

"Speak English." I whisper, pinching my brows together.

He lets out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "Addio." He then hangs up.

He leans off the wall, as he shoves his phone back in his pocket.

"You all set?" He asks.

I look down at my clothes once more before shrugging.

"I guess.. I'm just going to get my stuff." I begin to walk back to my luggage. As I get near, I hear steps walking away, and I stop abruptly turning around and see him walking to the exit.

Hell no. I am not walking out alone.

"Um..please may you wait for me?" I blurt out.

He raises an eyebrow, then nods.

"Of course."

I quickly make my way to the luggage and pick it up before, rolling it towards Aladdin. Wait no. What's his name, again? I'll just call him Luca.

"Okay, lets go." I blow out a breath.

He doesn't move as he lets out a laugh, his gaze flickering down to my feet.

I look down and see them bare and mentally slap myself.

"Oops." I throw the luggage on the floor, squatting down then unzipping it, and then fish out a pair of white flats before quickly slipping them on.

"I am so hot." I flip my sweaty hair back, blowing upwards in the direction of my nose as I could feel the area above my lip sweat slightly.

"Not as in hot hot as in weather hot."

He lets out a chuckle. "Right, best to get used to it, the weather will increase after some time." He states.

"Oh man." I groan, before standing up. "Let's just go."

He chuckles again, before walking to the exit as he steps over the lining, I notice a straight slanted path that goes down to the ground.

Isn't it supposed to be stairs?

And here comes the worst part.

The path was clear.

Yes clear. Clearer than.... a window.

Luca stops after he takes two steps on the path, he turns to me, cocking a brow.

Man, even looking at it makes my breathing increase.

"Are you alright?" He chuckles, noticing my horrified state.

"They're c-clear." I stutter, as I take a step back.

"Nothing to be afraid of, tesoro," he chuckled again. "Perfectly safe and will not shatter any moment if that is what you are thinking." He grins.

"Let me take that for you." He reaches his hand to me.

I nod, before taking slow steps, and quickly shove the luggage in his hand. "Thanks." My voice comes out in a squeak.

"Pleasure." He turns around, and slowly walks down.

I let out a tiny whimper before, following his slow steps but as soon as my eyes land through the path, I quickly grab onto the hem of his shirt.

"Okay I'm gonna hold you like this. Okay?" I breathe out, my heart beating ridiculously fast.

"Of course, tesoro." He chuckles, flashing me a grin before continuing to move.

I can't be the only one to be scared of this shit. Where the heck are the stairs? What plane has this shizzle?

"Please quickly" I gulp, closing my eyes, my heart literally in my throat.

"Here." He slows down.

And. In the speed of light, my eyes flash open and I rush fully off the glassy path.

I place my hand on my heart, letting out a deep breath. Someone hand me a hammer so I can smash the shit out of it.

When Luca steps in front of me, I give him a grin before taking my luggage from him.

"Thank you, you're my new fourth best friend." I give him a thumbs up and he chuckles.

"I feel very honoured, tesoro." He gives a pat on my head.

My grin widens. "Will you be staying with us?" I ask, my voice laced with hope.

"Afraid not." He chuckles. "I will be staying with the rest of the gang." He points over to a black long vehicle just a mile and a half away.

"Oh." I stare ahead. "Killian is the leader?" I question.

"Yes. He has some arrangements with your family, and they have offered for the both of you to stay with them for the two years. But he will spend most of his time with us to plan for our unfinished businesses here in the U.S." He explains.

"What missions are they?"

"I can't tell you that, tesoro. But Killian will, sooner or later." He gives me a soft smile.

"Oh." I frown. "How big is your army?"

He lets out a loud chuckle. "Gang, my dear. Not army." He shakes his head. "There are six in which are close trusted men to Killian- me included. The rest consisting to over a hundred- all live across the world."

"Wow." My eyes widen slightly. Over a hundred? Wow.

I then drop my voice low. "Are you allowed to tell me this?" I whisper. "I know Killian is really scary and--"

"And what?" I jump when I hear his voice, and turn my head around.

He was staring at me, with an emotionless face, as he had one brow cocked up, and after a moment I continue.

"....-mean and rude and stupid and angry all the time and-and--"

He rolls his eyes, as his hand suddenly clasps around my wrist, before he begins to drag me away.

"Hey!" I scowl, trying to pull away from him. I hear Luca chuckle behind as he begins to follow us.

"Get off!" he then let's go of me, and my arm falls to my side.

I let out a huff, before looking up and meeting my parents gazes.

"Kian, come with me." Killian walks off. Kian stops talking to Heidi and looks at me with a disgusted look, before following after Killian.

Heidi follows them as well, not taking any notice of me, which leaves me with Luca and my parents who can't seem to take their eyes off me, as they rake over my body with a dirty look.

Mum looks back up and meets my eyes, and plasters a fake smile on her face. She had on a long white dress, that ended up to her ankles with that she had on a pair of silver heels. Her hair is up in a bun with some strands out on her face, her lips painted a deep red.

Dad also gave me a fake smile. He had on a grey suit with a red tie, his hair was cut short and sleaked to the back.

They both look different. Younger.

"How have you been, Layla?" My dad cuts the silence, and I mentally roll my eyes.

"Good." I mutter, looking away, and towards Killian who looked to be talking serious with Kian, Heidi was right by his side, and she muttered something before her hand reached up to his spiked-up hair, and smoothed it down with a smile.

"Haven't given Killian trouble now have you?" Mum then chuckles and I snap my eyes back at her, although her voice held a slight teasing tone her eyes held mockery.

I plaster my own fake smile, while glaring at her and she raises a brow.

"Haven't given Heidi--" I was about to bite back a rude remark when Heidi suddenly flaunts over to us.

I look up to her slightly tall frame, she had grown a few inches taller I notice along with that she had on a pair of three inch heels. She looked completely different with her hair cut short to her shoulders and dyed blonde with some brunette highlights.

She was wearing a pink tube top which had her chest practically spilling out. With that she had on a pair of white skin tight shorts.

She had on light makeup, with her lips painted pink, and a bit of black eyeliner in her waterline.

For once she didn't look like a cake.

She looked like a model.

Her sharp green eyes had disgust in them as they raked down my body, but then when her eyes connected with mine she gave me a big grin, flashing her pearly white teeth.

"I missed you." She says, and then suddenly flings her arms around me, which causes shock to spring through me as she gives me a tight hug.

I don't respond as I let my arms continue to hang down on my sides, awkwardly, and then she pulls away.

If there's anyone I hate more. It's two-faced people. And that were my family right now.

"You look good." Her eyes drift down to my belly button and she lets out a giggle. She always made fun of it, while she had an innie belly button.

But you know what? Who actually gives a shit?

I let out a half-hearted laugh, rolling my eyes. "Thanks."

Her eyes scan my face, then she grimaces. "By the way, I think the sun's burnt your skin." She then states after a moment, with that she then directs her gaze to Luca.

"Alfonso, it's been a while, hasn't it?" She beams at him. They both begin to converse but I block them out, as I begin to shift uncomfortably from my parents' gaze.

What's their problem?

I direct my gaze back to Killian, and instantly meet his eyes.

He mumbles something to Kian, before he walks off back to the plane, breaking the eye-contact.

Kian makes his way towards us, his eyes glued to Heidi.

I narrow my eyes at him.

Is that love I see in his eyes?

"Killian says to make our way to our ride." He says softly.

Oh my god.

My lips tug up into a humourous smile.

His soft voice is so hilarious, because he hardly ever talks like that.

Heidi turns to him and grins at him, with those heels, she was about the same height as him. He smiles back and I couldn't help the low laugh that escaped my lips.

All gazes direct to me and Kian glares, his cheeks reddening slightly.

"Is it a limo again?" She directs her gaze back to Kian, grinning again, and I watch as Kian basically turns into mush.

I turn around, so my backs to them and begin to laugh silently and hysterically.

Oh my god oh my god.

Calm down Layla it's just a smile!

"Eek, I haven't been on that for ages, for like two weeks now!" I then hear the clatters of heels and shoes as they all begin to make their way to the limo.

I slowly calm down and turn my head slightly to see Luca staring at me with an amused look. He lets out a chuckle shaking his head as he then makes his way to the plane.

"Go ahead, me and Killian will just lock up."

I nod my head, with a smile before turning and making my way over to the black long vehicle.

It's a five minute walk, and everyone had seemed to be seated already.

One minute in, I let out a huge breath. My legs are aching now and I'm sweating buckets, my cheeks flaming hot.

I flap my shirt vigorously, to get some cool air in. Ugh. Even in little clothes im still dying.

Maybe I should take Killian's advice and go naked. Jokes.

I let out a small laugh at that thought, as I continue to walk, but then suddenly I feel a big nudge on my shoulder, which causes me to stumble to the right.

I straighten myself up, and lift my gaze up just when I see Killian look away from me and continue to walk, but much slower this time.

I frown, as I look away over to the far right. He is so mean.

After a moment I jump slightly when I feel breath fan my ear. "I'm sorry, love." His deep voice rumbles through my ear.

Oh so it was an accident.

That buffalo. Jokes.

Oh gosh, I think I'm still high.

I jolt my head to the left again, just when Killian straightened up. His gaze still on my face, still void of emotions.

He reaches his hand up and and presses his fingers against my cheek, pinching his brows together. I immediately wince, as a burning feeling soars through it.

He then pulls his hand away and flips his phone out, dialling a number.

"Hai la crema solare?" He speaks fluent Italian in his deep voice, turning my insides into mush.

Woah. Wait. What.

I hear faint talking in the other end, which sounds like Luca.

"Portamelo" Killian replies, before hanging up.

"Are you Italian?" I then ask him, after a bit.

He looks back down at me, nodding. "Half." He mutters.

I smile at him. "I know some Italian."

One of his brow raises, as we continue to walk.

He then says the word I've been dying to hear..

"Speak."

I open my mouth and immediately blurt "Uno dos tres cuatro-" but then I get cut off by his blunt response.

"That's Spanish."
