Part 16
The shock was visible on Shyam's face, hearing the thud. He rushed to the window and saw one of his men falling down whose forehead was bleeding. But he couldn't see the person who was hitting him. He gritted his teeth when he saw Arnav Singh Raizada came into the frame of his sight, with his tightened fists. Shyam looked at him unbelievably. How did he get to know about this place? He was sure that Khushi has no mobile. Then there is no chance to trace the signal which was the only source to find him. How the hell he found this place?
Shyam saw a prideful smile on Khushi's face which made him angrier. He came out and tried to lock the door, keeping Khushi inside the room. But, before he did that he felt a sharp pain on his jaw. Arnav didn't give him time to compose himself, Shyam got one more punch on his face. Four of Shyam's men caught Arnav using their full power. Shyam was about to kick Arnav, he felt something like a thunderbolt on his head. Pressing his head, he turned around and found Khushi standing with a log, panting hard. She again hit on his head and blood oozed from his head.
That's it; Arnav's energy became double, seeing Khushi. He pushed the men gathering all his power. The men fell on the floor, losing their balance.
Shyam frowned in confusion when his men started running from there. He understood the reason when he saw the police. But his men's effort went in vain as the police surrounded the place. All of them got arrested including Shyam.
Khushi rushed to Arnav and hugged him. Arnav's arms circled her petit figure protectively. Arnav was glaring at Shyam who got seated in the police jeep.

"Arnavji..."
"Did he hurt you?" he asked caressing her back.
Khushi nodded no on his chest.
"He was supposed to..."
"What did he try to do?"
"He wants to marry me... without my acceptance."
Arnav saw the rope mark on her wrist.
"What's this?"
"The goons tied my hands up when they kidnapped me."
"Is it paining?"
"That's ok..."
Arnav kissed the mark, softly.
Akash came to them who was also fighting with the goons. Khushi smiled at Payal who looked nervous. The sisters shared a tight hug.
"Are you alright?" Payal asked Khushi with concern.
"I'm fine Jeeji... thank god you guys reached before he did anything," Khushi said fearfully.
"We will go to RM after dropping them in GH," Arnav said.
"Ok Bhai."
"Haan... Amma and Buaji would be worried as we have not reached home yet." Khushi said restlessly.
They started to GH. Dropping the Gupta sisters in GH, Raizada brothers got back RM.
RM
Anjali was sitting like a stone. There was no expression on her face. She couldn't believe that she was madly in love with an immoral man like Shyam. She stood with her head up.
"We have a lot of work to do. Tomorrow is Mehandi. Let's do the preparations." She said firmly.
Raizadas thought that she just showing herself all right. But she really adopted the reality.
"Di... are you all right?"
"What's there to be upset when I already know who he is? Of course, I didn't expect he could stoop so low to this extend. But it happened... leave it Chotte... he is a closed book. I don't want to reopen it. How was Khushiji? She must have been scared..."
"Yes, Di... she was..."

"Poor girl..."
"I will take care of her, Di."
"Chotte, I think we should pre pond the marriage."
"It's not necessary Di...."
"No Chotte, don't underestimate your opponent and definitely not when your loved one is involved in that. I don't want Khushi to get effected anymore."
"But Guptas are not ready for the marriage. They would like to complete all the rituals."
"I will talk to Buaji. They could complete the rituals in a simple way if they want to perform them compulsorily"
"Are you scared, Di?" Arnav asked.
"Think whatever... I don't want to delay this marriage. That's all. Hope you will do it for me."
Arnav nodded yes.
As Anjali said, Buaji was shocked.
"Anjali bitiya..." Buaji dragged with hesitation.
"Buaji, you no need to worry about anything. Please complete the rituals as soon as possible. I don't want to take risks. I want Khushi and Payal to be in RM. Please try to understand, Buaji."
"Ok, Nandkhisor... when do you want the marriage to take place?"
"Coming Sunday."
"We have just two days, bitiya..."
"Perform Mehandi tomorrow morning and Sangeeth in the evening. Over morrow will be haldi and Sunday will be marriage."
Buaji sighed.
"Please Buaji..."
"Ok fine... we will complete all the rituals simply."
"That's enough Buaji."
Anjali disconnected the call sighing.
"Buaji agreed..." she smiled at Nani.
Arnav and Akash spared a glance at each other. They didn't smile at each other but they were damn happy. At the same time, they were tensed too. They are going to be completely engaged for the next three days.
Evening
Arnav dialed Khushi. She attended it and started blabbering.
"Arnavji... our marriage is on Sunday... tomorrow will be Mehandi and sangeet. Day after tomorrow is haldi..."
"Khushiiiii.... Take a breath."
"Do you know how tensed I'm?"
"Why?"
"Arnavji, do you think it's just like telling WHAT THE...?"
Arnav chuckled.
"It's our marriage Arnavji... in two days we have to perform all the rituals... it seems, I can't dance in the Sangeeth ritual like how I planned." She said sadly.
"How did you plan?"
"I thought to dance with my friends till midnight...."
"So what? Do it..."
"No Arnavji... as we have haldi the next day, Buaji will scold us for sure. She will insist us to sleep soon." She pouted making face.
"Khushi... you know what..."
"What?"
"Here, we are worrying about what will happen next, but you are bothering about dancing in Sangeeth... it's possible only for you." he smiled.
"Go Arnavji... are we going to marry for several times? No right?"
Arnav chuckled.
"Absolutely"
"That's why I'm bothering."
Arnav smiled. He thought she would be upset because of today's happenings. So he called her to console her. But Khushi no needs anyone to cheer her up. He smiled.
"Ok go to sleep..."
Arnav was supposed to disconnect the call.
"Arnavji..."
"Yeah..."
"Why did you call me?"
"I wanted to know whether you are all right."
"I'm not at all fine Arnavji"
"Yeah... you are worried about dancing in Sangeeth. And I can do nothing with it."
"Haan Arnavji... you sleep... "
"You...?"
"I'm also going to sleep."
"Ok sleep well... but don't think of me."
"Thinking of you? But why I think of you?"
"Just like that... don't forget... you should not think of me tonight. Good night,"
Arnav cut the call smilingly. Khushi frowned thinking of his words. Why does he say that? She started thinking of the reason for DON'T THINK OF ME... without getting sleep.

Luck Lockyer
Luck Lockyer was the type of man to smirk in the dark, the expression not for anyone but himself. One of perpetual amusement. The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. Without purpose, without anyone to do the job for, Luck Lockyer found himself inside an empty forgotten church. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online

A Sky of Star and Strength
Jake was just an intelligent kid living a pretty regular life in Mill Creek, Washington. Then the apocalypse happens. Now with his Dad out of the country and totally in yet out his element, this is his story. My take on a system apocalypse based around "life force" as a currency. The main character will have a special power (as will most of the other characters) and be rather OP, you have been warned. Like many of the authors on this site I have no formal writing experience so writing tips and grammar corrections are much appreciated :)
