A week had past since the attack on Vale.
Now that the antidote was being produced throughout the kingdom, and work was starting back up. Earle was making his way to the board room, when the secretary approached him.
"The meeting's already started," Jessica said.
Earle raised an eyebrow. "What meeting?"
He hadn't heard anything about a meeting. He stepped into the board room, and he saw the fox faunus, Lucius, passing out papers to the men at the table.
"Fox," he said. "I seem to remember firing you."
"You did," Lucius nodded. "I got another job. Yours."
Earle raised an eyebrow. "On whose authority?"
As the meeting continued, Bruce Wayne was seated in the backseat of the Rolls Royce, looking at the article on his scroll.
"Batman may have made the first article," Alfred said, "but Bruce Wayne got pushed to the eighth."
Bruce smiled as he made his way down the list of articles, and found his.
"DRUNK MILLIONAIRE BURNS DOWN HOUSE"
He frowned, but didn't make any form of complaint. As long as nobody suspected what had actually happened, he supposed he could find a way to get his reputation back.
His scroll vibrated, and he quickly answered it. "Bruce Wayne."
Earle gave no form of greeting, instead got straight to business. "What makes you think you can decide who's running Wayne Enterprises?"
"The fact that I'm the owner," Bruce replied.
"What are you talking about? The company went public a week ago."
"And I bought most of the shares," Bruce said, wishing he could see the frown on Earle's face. "Through various charitable foundations and trusts and so forth. Look, it's all a bit technical, but the important thing is that my company's future is secure. Right, Mr. Fox?"
He heard Lucius' voice. "Right you are, Mr. Wayne."
Earle hung up the scroll. He slipped it back into his pocket, and glared at Lucius. The fox faunus simply stared back.
"Didn't you get the memo . . . ?"

The Little Black Umbrella
Gillean had just lost his best friend and is feeling utterly miserable and lonely. Being smart doesn't fend off loneliness. If nothing having the combination of smarts AND the lack of forward planning got him into the state he currently was in - rejection and the feeling of being a failure. Cue in the sounds of angelic trumpets. RaRa, his best friend, returns to "save the day". Well. What she thinks of as saving the day that is. Corny ideals, lame ideas. The two get into one last patch of trouble together as they sneak back into RaRa's home. Just what kind of family secrets has RaRa been keeping from Gill. In blood and thunder, Gill finds out. Please read the content warnings (there may be spoilers within though) if you have triggers. Also there is a slight mention of LGBTQ+, so please don't read this short story if even a short mention bothers you. ======================= My first short story (It's short - 5 chapters, 10,000 word-ish kinda short! And also completed *self pats* that I will be releasing in mini chapters (of 500-800 words each) on Fridays and Saturdays.). Happy to hear actionable and constructive criticisms on how I can improve, but please don't be too harsh okay? :) I know it's not perfect. But hey, we all have to start somewhere.
8 144Thaellis A Kingdom Down Under
A kingdom down under, once it had prospered, expanded, built, and conquered until all that they thought of worth was theirs. Peace ruled for a time the people absorbed in their own self-satisfaction. But eventually, old urges returned. Conquest called, though this time there was no outside outlet to turn it towards. So in ages so long and distant the memories most couldn’t recall, the kingdom turned upon itself. War raged for many years, no one coming close to being considered a victor, it appeared that this self-destruction would go on till nothing was left. Many if given the chance would have claimed that would have been a mercy for this kingdom and its people. For as they killed, and butchered each other over things they already had. Vibrations traveled through rock and stone guiding things best left alone. Creatures came things of horror armed to the teeth with claws, fangs, and armor. Cities fell and were consumed not even the bones of individuals remained, for these creatures hunger knew no limits, had no end. The kingdom rallied together once more, what was left, they fought and fought but their Nightmare had no end. Their greatest, brightest minds worked their magic, carved into stone. Wards they called them, this would keep their Nightmares away. They abandoned attempts to fight and focused on walling every surface of the kingdom with these Wards. It worked mostly, an illusion of peace returned, one that crumbled often, but it was better than before, it was a bearable hell now. So here we start our story as ages have passed for a walled-off kingdom, hunted by a never-ending Nightmare. With a poor but deserving soul born into this world.

8 77Just 'friends' (Meryl and Pierce)
They were suppose to be only working together but they seemed to be spending more time together behind the scenes then on the movie. Do you think they're just friends? No, maybe friends with benefits but that doesn't make you just friends.
