《SoulSpark: Optimus Prime X Reader | Book 1》A Really Old Pair Of Glasses

You woke up early this morning, and 6 am. You were an early riser, so you never really slept in. You went over to your bathroom, and brushed your teeth. You then calmly brushed out the knots and frizz from your (H/c) hair. You then got dressed in a (f/c) shirt, Jean shorts, and (show brand). You finished getting ready, and headed down stairs to make breakfast. After you ate, you washed your dishes, and made your lunch for school. The house was empty, and has been for the past few days. You see your dad was a tucker doing long haul, so he would be gone several days to weeks at a time. You grabbed your school bag, and headed out into the garage. You put it down beside the workbench, and took out your tool kit. You sat down at the bench, and continued to work on fixing a broken car engine. It was one of your hobbies to work on vehicles. You first gain the hobby when your friend Mikaela fixed up your dad's truck for you a few years ago. You immediately took an interest in the skill, and it's been your hobby ever since. Mikaela taught you alot, and your taking auto mechanics, robotics, and tech classes in school for the past few years as well. Your proud of how well your skills have developed, and you've even picked up some computer and programing skills as well along the way. You worked on the engine for about an hour, and smiled as you completed it's repairs. This engine would fetch a reasonable price and the shop. To make money to help pay for the bills and other necessities since your dad's job didn't pay as well as you both would like, you started taking old car parts from the scrap yard. You would fix them up and sell them to auto shops, mostly the one Mikaela worked at. You then put the now fixed engine into your wagon, and covered it with a blanket. You grabbed your bag and the wagon, and headed over to the auto shop. When you got there, you saw Mikaela working on one of the cars.
"Hey Kaley!"
You said cheerfully with a wave.

She rolled out from under the car, and smiled when she saw you.
"Hey (N/N)!"
She walked over to you and noticed the wagon.
"Finally fixed up that engine?"
"Yup! Good as new."
"Good. We needed an new engine for that car I'm working on over there."
She pointed a thumb to the car she was previously working on. It was then that a man noticed the two of you talking, and came over. It was Mr.Peters, Mikaela's boss and the owner of the shop.
"Miss (L/N). Good to see you. You brought the engine?"
"Yup, right here Mr.Peters."
You removed the blanket and waited as he examined the engine. He nodded in approval.
"Fine work. I'll give 150 for it."
You shook your head.
"Normally that'd be fine, but I added in the custom modifications you asked for so it's gonna cost ya a little more. 200."
He sighed, but shook your hand.
"That's fair. Deal."
You smiled, and nodded. You and Mikaela helped load the engine onto one of the tables.
"Nice doing business with you again, Mr.Peters."
He waved you off with his hand.
"Yeah, yeah. Now you girls best be getting to school, unless you want to be late." He said.
You both said your goodbyes, and you and Mikaela dropped off your wagon at her place before heading to school. You and Mikaela had last period together. History. And right now people were giving presentations on one of their ancestors. You did yours the other day and got an A. Right now the person doing the last presentation of the day was Sam Witwickey. You gave your friend your full attention, as he presented. He dumped out his bag onto the table.
"For my family-"
Some jerk then flung an elastic at Sam cutting him off. You gave the dude a glare. You really didn't get why Mikaela hanged out with that dude. The teacher got mad and stood up.
"Who did... Who did that? People! Responsibly."
He waved a finger disapproving at the class, before sitting back down. Sam waited for the class to stop laughing, before continuing.
"Okay. So, for my family genealogy report, I decided to do it on my great-great-grandfather. Who was a famous man, Captain Archibald Witwicky. Very famous explorer. In fact he was one of the first to explore the artic circle, which is a big deal."

He took out a map of the artic circle to show the class.
"In 1897, he took 41 brave sailors straight into the Artic Shelf. So that's the story right?"
He then started going over the items he laid out in the desk.
"And here we have some of the basic instruments and tools used by 19th century seamen."
The class laughed, and the teacher held up a quiet sign. Same picked up a tube shaped device.
"This here is the quadrant, and you can get it for 80 bucks."
You mentally faced palmed. Is he really selling stuff in the middle of class?
"It's all for sale, by the way. Like the sextant here."
He picked up another device.
"This is going for 50 dollars, which is a bargain."
The class kept laughing, and you noticed Mikaela was staring at Sam. What was weird about it was that she never paid attention in class, which made you curious as to why she was paying attention to Sam.
Sam then held up a pair of antique damaged glasses.
"These are pretty cool. These are my grandfather's glasses. I haven't quite gotten them appraised yet, but they've seen many of cool things."
"Are you going to sell me his liver? Mr.Witwicky, this isn't show and sell. It's 11th grade. I don't think your grandfather would be particularly proud of what you're doing." Said Mr. Hosney.
Sam turned to the teacher.
"I know. I'm sorry. I just, you know, this is all going towards my car fund. You can tell your folks. It's on eBay. I take PayPal. Cold hard cash works too. And the compass makes for a great gift for Columbus Day."
The teacher sighed, and rolled his eyes. Sam just wouldn't quit.
"Sam!"
"Sorry. Unfortunately my great-great-grandfather, the great genius that he was, ended up going blind and crazy in a psycho ward, drawing these strange symbols and ranting on about some strange ice man he thought he discovered." He said this while holding an old news paper article. This actually intrigued you. A giant ice man? What on earth did he see that made him go so crazy? Suddenly the bell rang and everyone started filling out. You left the class feeling a bit sorry for Sam. On your way to leave the school after stopping by your locker, you bumped into Sam.
"Oh, hey Sam. What mark did you get?"
"Well he gave me a B-, but! I managed to convince him to give me A-!"
You smiled.
"That's great Sam! You just needed 3 A's and the 2000 dollars to get your dad to buy you a car right?"
"Yup. But there's just one problem..."
You looked confused.
"What do you mean?"
"Well I got the A's but I'm 20 bucks short. I don't know what I'm going to do! My dad is out there, right now, waiting to get me a car. But if I'm short, he'll call the whole deal off!"
He sighed, and held his head like he had a huge headache.
You were quiet for a moment, thinking. You then smiled.
"Hey Sam, those glasses..."
You pulled out a twenty dollar bill, from the 200 dollars you made that morning.
"Would you sell them for a twenty?"
He stared at the twenty, and then to you, his eyes wide as saucers.
"Wait, are you serious...?"
You nodded your head. He broke into a big and excited grin.
"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! You're the best, (y/n)!"
He gave you the case with the glasses, and you gave him the twenty. With another spew of thanks, he dashed off to meet up with his dad. You smiled as you watched him go. You've been friends with Sam for quite a while. You dad's were friends so they got you guys to hangout, and eventually the two of you became friends to. You knew how much getting a car ment to him. It was a key part in his plan to get a normal life. Get a car, get the girl, go to college, get a job. You were glad you can help him out. You put the case in your bag, and headed home.
