《Winter Wonderland》The Beautiful Tyrant: part 25

"See you later, guys," Epel said, giving a small smile.
Vil turned to Y/n. "I'm sorry you had to see that. I'll make sure to not do it again in your noble presence" he apologized.
"It's alright. It's their fault for acting without thinking" Y/n said.
"Oi!"
Vil smiled. "I'll see you on the day of the audition," he said before grabbing Epel's arm and walking away.
"Alright..." Y/n mumbled, letting out a sigh. As the group watched Vil drag Epel away. Yuuna felt a little pang in her heart when she watched Epel get taken by Vil to do those torturous beauty and voice stuff.
"Mraah..." Grim groaned. "After all that, he still got yoinked away"
"What a downer." Ace scowled. "Is there some kinda rule in this school that you can't be housewarden unless you're a tremendous jerk?"
"Then, wouldn't Kalim senpai and Y/n be a violation of such a rule?" Yuuna asked, in curiosity.
Ace flinched back a bit. "Ah, I didn't think about them"
"I'm right here you know" Y/n growled, crossing her arms.
"We were unwise to pick a fight," Deuce said. "If Housewarden Rosehearts hears about this, it might be off with our heads"
"Might? Deuce? Might??"
".....But if I'm being honest, I could do without the whole competition" Epel mumbled.
"The Song & Dance Championship, huh?" Deuce said, muttering to himself.
"Hmmm. Most intriguing..." a voice hummed. A particular student was becoming more interested in Yuuna's beauty which is as bright as the sun, while Y/n's beauty was like a porcelain doll, whose beauty would never fall victim to time.
The next day, during lunch, the group made their way to the Gym to practice for the SDC audition. Y/n tag along as well, but none of them asked for her help, so she was going to play smart-ass and wait until they finally asked her help. While she waits, she will do some paperwork that got dumped on her by no other than Vil oof.
"Your moves are all utterly unchoreographed. It's embarrassing to watch, frankly, and woefully inelegant, to boot" Ace mimicked in a snarky tone.
"You get a five out of one hundred! Oooh, he made me so mad!" Grim yelled. "I'm gonna wow 'em at the audition with my slick moves and dulcet tones! They'll be like, please o Great Grim, you have to represent us! Just you wait and see"
"Yeah. Totally." Ace said. "Sooo...Deuce. You changed your mind about auditioning. What gives?"
"I'm not taking all that smack talk lying down!" Deuce said, balling his fists. "Besides....I'm a little worried about that guy"
"You mean Epel?" Yuuna and Ace asked in unison.
"Yeah. He didn't seem like he was taking part in the SDC because he wanted it." Deuce frowned slightly.
"He seemed afraid of his housewarden..." Yuuna mumbled.
"I got that impression myself" Y/n added, continuing to do her paperwork.
"Back when he and I bumped into each other, he was crying" Deuce mentioned. "As an honors student, I can't ignore someone being forced to do something against their will."
" Y'know, a real honors student wouldn't refer to themselves as one, like Y/n and Yuuna" Ace deadpanned. "Epel's clearly faint of heart. I mean, just look at the guy. Forcing someone like that to compete just seems mean. That's why I saw we put on a better performance than Epel's. We can knock him out of the running for the contest ourselves. You said it yourself, right? 'It's not appropriate to audition on a lark when you're not serious about gunning for the top spot,' If he doesn't want the spot, we'll take it for ourselves" Ace smirked.

"Wouldn't that get Epel in even more trouble?" Y/n asked, tilting her head a little.
"Sounds good to me!" Grim yelled, completely ignoring Y/n. "Let's start with some dance practice. Yuuna, cue the music!"
Yuuna nodded as she took out her phone, and went to the music video. She gave it to the boys to watch so they can learn the choreography.
"Okay, let's run through the whole thing once first" Ace suggested. "You up to this, Grim? I can't imagine you having any dancing experience"
"Heh heh." Grim laughed, trying out the dance. "I'll show you what my hind paws can do!"
"I practiced as much as I could, but I wonder if I can pull if off" Deuce mumbled. He practices a bit like Grim before turning to Yuuna. "Could you help us stay on beat by clapping your heads, Yuu?"
"Alright" Yuuna nods her head.
"Sweet!" Ace smiled. "That was easy."
"Hold your right hand out as you back up, and...Wait, which foot do we use?" asked Deuce.
'This is painful to watch, Zadkiel's niece' Focalors grumbled.
'Heh...if only they asked me for help'
"How 'bout a peace sign right here?" asked Grim. "Not that my front paws can really do that..."
"Dude. This is the easy part, and you're already having this much trouble?" asked Ace. He was biting his lip, trying his hardest not to laugh at Deuce and Grim's fails.
Yuuna just sweatdropped a bit, but she decided to keep cheering for them.
"Ugh, the footwork for this part is too complicated. I can't remember it at all" Duece sighed.
"How'd you learn to dance like that, Ace?" asked Grim, looking for some tips.
"If you beg me, I might be inclined to teach you" Ace smirked.
"Myah!" Grim glared. "Don't act all high and mighty just 'cause you're a little better than us!"
"I'll learn to dance WITHOUT your help," Deuce shouted. "Just you watch!"
"Bwah ha ha!" Ace laughed at Deuce and Grim. "You can't even pull off basic baby steps, Deuce"
"H-hey, whaddaya want from me?!" exclaimed Deuce. "I've never danced in my life!"
"Myow ow ow..." Grim whimpered. "My hands 'n feet are movin' at the same time..." he grumbled.
"Is it time to finally ask for help?" asked Y/n.
"Hey! You weren't even trying to help us tho!" Ace said.
"That's because you didn't ask at all" Y/n admitted.
Ace, Deuce, and Grim suddenly got quiet. After all, they should've asked Y/n for her help since she IS Rebirth. Singing and Dancing are her things. Her job and duty as Empress of a powerful nation/empire, her two hobbies for dancing and singing as Rebirth and playing Spelldrive as Camelius sure isn't easy doing all three things.
After all, Y/n was right about them not asking for help-
"....."
"We've got nowhere to go but up!" Yuuna said in encouragement.
"Ooh, are you guys dancing, too?" a voice asked. "Let us join in!"
"Myah!" Grim yelped. "It's Scarabia's most dysfunctional duo."
Everyone turned to see Kalim and Jamil who were approaching them.
A hand wrapped itself around Y/n's waist and placed his head on her shoulder. "I don't appreciate you making up pet names. And we are not dysfunctional" Jamil commented.

"Hey, Kalim. Hey, Jamil." Ace greeted. "Lemme guess: you guys are auditioning for the SDC too?"
"Yup!" Kalim smiled. "It's a big festival, and there's no better occasion to dance! Jamil and I happen to both be good at that AND singing. Right, Jamil?"
Jamil's expression turned sour. "I'd rather not draw that much attention to myself, personally." he let out a sigh.
"I saw you guys from behind, and goodness, you've all got two feet!" Kalim said in a cheery tone. "It was like watching an elephant panic and rear back on its hind legs. Aha ha! You can hardly dance, and you'll have to do that while simultaneously singing at the audition. Maybe you're in above your heads here."
Y/n nervously twirls Jamil's hair that was hanging from her shoulder when he was cuddling from behind. "Way to be brutally honest" she mumbled.
"Rgh...The fact that you said all that with complete sincerity makes it even worse." Deuce groaned.
"Hey, come to think it- Jamil, you taught Floyd some dance moves at Basketball Club practice once." Ace remembered. "Dancing is kinda your thing, right? Just as much as it is for Y/n. Would you two mind sharing some pro strats with us while Y/n give us some professional singing lessons?"
"I don't see the problem with finally helping you guys" Y/n bluntly said.
"Great Idea!" Kalim also agreed. "You can't go wrong with Jamil as your coach."
"Hey asked me, not you!" Jamil snapped before clearing his throat. "Ahem. Anyway, teaching makes good practice for me, so...sure." he said, stepping in full view, next to Y/n.
"Fufu." Y/n chuckled. "For beginners, I just we start with isolation" Y/n suggested.
Jamil nodded before turning to the one-brain cells. "Spread your feet as wide as your shoulders...." he instructed.
"Deuce, ease up your shoulders a bit more." Jamil advised. "Moving your head and shoulders at the same time will make your whole body look stiff."
"H-how am I supposed to move my head and shoulders separately?!" exclaimed Deuce. "Just thinking about that would make me fall behind the music."
"You won't get anywhere is dancing by thinking things out, Deuce" Y/n advised. "Just follow the rhythm and work on your muscle memory."
"Jeez. How did you first learn how to dance, Y/n?" asked Ace.
Everyone turned to Y/n for an answer.
She gives a small smile. "Just keep dancing and dancing until it kills you"
"EH?!"
The bell began to ring, signaling that classes are going to begin shortly.
"Ah, Afternoon class is about to start" Jamil said. "Time to wrap up our practice session."
"Awww, already?" Kalim asked. He was having fun learning from Jamil and Y/n. "Time sure flies when you're busting moves!"
Deuce let out some pants. He sure took Y/n advice seriously. "Y/n! Jamil! Kalim! Thank you for the training sessions, sirs and ma'am!"
"Seriously, Jamil. I can tell you're used to tutoring like Y/n" Ace acknowledges him. "In less than an hour, you've gotten Deuce and Grim from zero skills to...some skills."
"Your sense of rhythm is lacking, but you've got solid reflexes." Jamil said towards Deuce.
"I'm sure you will get it eventually, Deuce!" Yuuna smiled.
"Keep practicing, and you should be able to get the hang of dancing eventually."
"Right! Thanks!" Deuce thanked.
"It's hard to gauge whether Grim has actually improved any, but...he's agile." Jamil noted. "I suppose. Maybe."
"This has all been pretty fun, actually," Grim admitted. "I'll show you all even smoother moves tomorrow!"
"Be careful not to focus too hard on dancing" Y/n advice. "After all, you guys can't afford to neglect your singing. You need to strike a proper balance between the two in your rehearsals."
"True. We've still got a lot of work to do." Deuce said. He was a bit exhausted from the thought of trying to sing. After all, singing is just as challenging as dancing.
"Hey, guys." Kalim called out. "What would you say to group practice sessions starting tomorrow? Jamil's also a great singer, for the record. You should get him to demonstrate. I'm sure Y/n would love to see her mate sing!" he grinned.
"Wh- again, you're making commitments on my behalf!" Jamil said gritting his teeth.
"What's the harm in that?" asked Kalim. "When it comes to dancing, singing, and parties, the rule of thumb is the more, the merrier!"
"Sign us up!" the boys cheered.
"Fufufu" Y/n chuckled.
"Deal! We're in this together now!" Kalim cheered as well.
"Hmph. Such a demanding bunch you are..." Jamil sighed. "But fine. So be it. Be warned, though- if you think I'll go easy on you, think again."
"Yeah, whatever" Ace said. "We're used to being run ragged by our own housewarden."
"Hahaha, I feel bad for strawberry for putting up with you" Y/n laughed.
"Do your worst, sir! Ma'am!" Deuce added.
"Then before we leave, we'd best tidy things up." Jamil recommended. "Go fetch some mops from storage"
"Yes, sir!" the boys said.
Kalim also went along. "Kalim, you don't have to..." he said before sighing.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door before a new sound of footsteps approached them, catching Y/n's and Jamil's attention.
"Ah, excellent." a voice said. "There you are, Jamil"
Sorry for only posted one chapter! I was busy today and then I got distracted by this:
I can't believe all the faces of the reminding 8 harbingers gathered! Signora is in the coffin and Scaramouche fled Inazuma with the Electro Archon's gnosis. We already know Tartaglia.
I have a feeling that there will be many theories on which harbinger is which, but the most obvious ones would be the 1st Harbinger, Pierro, and Dottore.
To be honest, during the last clip with the burning tree, I was a theory that Dottore is going to burn the Vanessa tree in windrise. Why? You'll understand once you have seen the teaser yourself, after all, the tree looks similar to the one in Windrise after all.
I also cried! The music and a female harbinger singing Signora's boss theme, during stage one, Cryo. It was so beautiful!
But does anyone notice how the girl laying on Signora's coffin has some Lilia Vonrouge hair???
