《Winter Wonderland》The Schemer of the Scalding Sands: part 17

"AAAAAAAH!"
*Thunk*
"Owww...I really can't catch a break around here" Grim groaned.
"I'm alive..." Yuuna was dizzy. "Barely"
"It would seem he flung us quite some distance" Azul muttered, looking around the area they had landed.
"Brrr!" Floyd shivered. "It's seriously cold here. It's like we've under the ice floes"
Yuuna shivered as well. "Ehe...This place it heaven to [nickname]"
"Kalim?" Jade turned to Kalim. "Kalim, are you alright? Please, speak to me" he asked the Kalim who passed out during their flight.
"Rgh...Ugh..." Kalim groaned. "Where am I?" he asked, finally awake.
"Good. You're awake. I believe we're at the edge of the dimension that contains Scarabia Dorm" Jade informed.
"Grim is a ball of fur, and we merfolk have some innate cold resistance, but..." Azul took off his coat and wrapped it around Kalim and Yuuna, who were standing close to each other. "I fear Yuuna and Kalim will not last long in this cold"
"B-but what about, Y/n?" yelped Grim.
Azul gritted his teeth. "She's still back at Scarabia, under the control of Jamil"
" We have to save her!" Yuuna and Kalim exclaimed
"We don't have any brooms or carpets to fly out on" Jade told Azul. "What does that leave us for options?"
"It'll be a long, but walkin's our only way back," Floyd said.
"We spent quite a while in flight before we landed. It would take hours- possibly days- to trudge back on foot...we need to save my angelfish as soon as possible..." Azul said before turning to Floyd. "...And I can't take another minute of you with that voice, Floyd. I'm tearing up the contract and annulling it. Back to your hold voice"
"Awww, but I liked being all baritone" Floyd whined.
Azul let out a hmph as he ripped the golden contract he summoned, having it disappear into dust. "Mm, ah, aaah" Floyd tested out. "Yup, all back to normal" he pouted in his normal voice.
"I'm impressed you're okay with making a contract with Azul and lending him your signature spell as 'collateral', if I do say so myself" Jade praised. "I'd worry about him inventing excuses to hold onto it indefinitely...So I'd never make a contract with him, personally"
"Yeah, I wouldn't put that past him. But I didn't care about gettin' my magic back all that much to start with" Floyd admitted.
"If I get tired of the voice, I could just change that terms to somethin' else"
Azul frowned at the twins. "I'm standing right here, for the record"
The sound of someone crying then interrupted their thoughts. Yuuna turned to Kalim, who was the one crying. "Jamil...I trusted you..." he cried.
Yuuna began to sniff as well, feeling that damn empathy. "D-don't cry K-Kalim...you'll make me cry as well...wah!" she burst into tears.
Kalim and Yuuna then hugged each other, letting out a wail.
"You cryin', little Sea Otter and Little Shrimp?" Floyd asked, quite shocked at Yuuna joining in as well. "Your tears are gonna freeze over, y'know"
"It's all my fault..." Kalim murmured. "I drove Jamil to the brink without even realizing it. The real Jamil would never do such things! He's a good guy. He's always helping me, giving me a shoulder to lean on, and-"
"A 'good guy' wouldn't knock his friend into another area code" Yuuna sniffled.
"What...?" Kalim said, looking at the girl.
"Hoo boy. Yuuna, you really go for the jugular sometimes, even when you're in tears yourself" Grim grumbled.

"I'm with Little Shrimpy on this one" Floyd said. "Sea Otter, you, like, TOO nice. It's kinda grating"
"Huh? Is it?" Kalim asked.
"Yes. If I were betrayed by someone the way you were..." Jade started off. "I'd lash out with a torrent of unmitigated verbal abuse to break them down mentally, then bind them and drag them beneath the waves. The way you blame yourself and try to excuse his behavior is, quite frankly, a tad galling"
"Galling? Really? But, I mean...Jamil would never betray me, ever" Kalim still denying the fact Jamil literally just betrayed him.
"Uh, news flash: he did" Floyd pointed out. "In fact, he was gonna make you out to be the bad guy and get you expelled. He's an enormous dirtbag!"
"When it comes to underhanded ploys, Azul at his worst still couldn't hold a candle to that" Jade said. "That's quite a feat, you know. It's okay to hold your head high and denounce him for the traitor that he is,"
"That's...not much of a compliment" Yuuna mumbled.
"You carry yourself like a goody-two-shoes, laughing off conflict with a flippant word or two. To twisted individuals like myself and Jamil..." Azul said. "Ah, I mean, to calculating individuals, those remarks are like barbs digging under our skin. I'd say you've been pushing Jamil ever since your formative years. It's not your fault in the least, of course. You were born in a very high social class. As showered as you were with affection from your family and everyone around you, you grew up with honesty and integrity. An upbringing like that would make anyone take certain things for granted" Azul continued.
"I would argue that Kalim's case, it might simply be a case of a naturally innocent disposition" Jade added.
"Oh...So Jamil is...bad?" questioned Kalim.
"Extremely" Yuuna nodded, wiping away her tears.
"In that case, I'd better get back fast!" Kalim declared. "I must punch him and yell, "Traitor!' I owe him that much"
"One punch ain't enough!" Grim hissed. "You oughta also make him march to the oasis and back ten times!"
"That, and we need to bring him to his senses fast along with my angelfish. If we don't, his life will be in danger, in the hands of the abyss. We have to get back before his magic reserves run dry" Azul said.
"That puts us right back where this conversation started," Floyd said. "How do we get back? Walkin' really fast?"
"My nose is gonna freeze over if we stay out here much longer!" Grim whined.
"If there was a river, we could swim back" Jade sighed. "Sadly, the rivers around here are all dried out,"
"So a lack of water is the problem?" asked Kalim.
"Yes" Azul nodded. "Floyd and Jade can easily outpace brooms when they're in their true forms...including Y/n in her Levia form" Azul muttered the last part. "But we can't exactly restore a dry river..."
"Maybe you can't, but I can" Kalim announced.
"Huh?!" the Mafia trio yelped, turning to Kalim in shock.
"Oh yeah, your signature spell you did at the oasis!" Yuuna remembered.
"My signature spell, Oasis Maker, can produce an enormous volume of water wish just a smidgen of magical power" Kalim explained. "If I make you a river, you can get us back to the dorm, right?"
"Y-you mean to tell me THAT'S your signature spell?!" Azul yelped. "That's insane!"
"Aha ha!" Kalim laughed. "It's pretty useless when we've already got running water,"

"Don't 'aha ha' me!" shouted Azul. "Some countries don't HAVE that sort of infrastructure. Your power would make you nothing short of a hero to those people! That's...that's...ABSURDLY marketable!"
"I think we can leave Azul to his get-rich-quick fantasies for a bit," Jade said, sweatdropping a bit. "Kalim, if you would oblige us?"
"You just need a river, right?" asked Kalim. "Okay! I'm on it!" in a finish of light, Kalim used his Oasis maker to fill up the dried-up river.
"Holy mackerel..." Grim gasped. "The river's fillin' up with water right before our eyes!"
Once the river was deep enough, Jade and Floyd jumped in, turning back to their mer-forms.
"Let's get moving before the water freezes over, Floyd" Jade advised. "Now, Azul and Grim, grab hold of my back"
"Little shrimpy and Sea Otter, you're with me" Floyd grinned.
"Wait, but I thought Azul was a merman," Yuuna said.
"Can't he swim himself?" asked Grim.
"Azul isn't a fast swimmer, even in his mer form," Jade said.
"Yes, well, not all of us have tailfins like yours" Azul hugged. "Now, off we go to Scarabia!"
'Don't worry, my angelfish...I will save you!'
"Are you ready, my Jasmine flower?" Jamil asked. Y/n nodded in reply. Jamil smirked, "Now, sing for me" he commanded.
"Yes, my sultan" Y/n bowed in respect.
The hypnotized students all gathered around, as Omar started the music that Y/n was going to sing.
"Here comes a wave meant to wash me away
A tide that is taking me under...
Swallowing sand left with nothing to say
My voice drowned out in the thunder"
Y/n sang, her voice no longer a monotone since she was kinda ordered to sing.
"But I won't cry~
And I won't start to crumble
Whenever they try to shut me or cut me down~
I won't be silenced~
You can't keep me quiet
Won't tremble when you try it
All I know is that I won't go speechless
'Cause I'll breathe when they try to suffocate me
Don't you underestimate me
'Cause I know that I won't go speechless
Written in stone every rule, every word
Centuries-old and unbending...
"Stay in your place"
"Better seen and not heard"
Well, now that story is ending..."
Y/n turned and looked up to Jamil, her red eyes flickered to their original color before returning back to red.
" 'Cause I, I cannot start to crumble
So come on and tryTry to shut me and cut me down!~
I don't be silenced
You can't keep me quiet
Won't tremble when you try it
All I know is I won't go speechless...Speechless!
Let the storm in~
I cannot be broken
No, I won't live unspoken...'Cause I know that I won't go speechless"
Jamil widen his eyes when a vision of a woman, with white hair and golden eyes, appeared next to Y/n.
"Try to lock me in this cage
I won't just lay me down and die"
It was Blanche. Y/n's past self a from a millennium ago, as she was singing in snic with Y/n and copying her moves.
"I will take these broken wings and watch me burn across the sky!
Hear the echo saying I..."
Blanche then smiled before fading away.
"Won't be silenced!
Though you wanna see me tremble when you try it
All I know is I won't go speechless....Speechless!
'Cause I'll breathe, when they try to suffocate me
Don't you underestimate me"
Y/n continued to sing as she walked toward Jamil.
"'Cause I know that I won't go speechless
All I know is I won't go speechless...
Speechless!"
Y/n finished before sitting on Jamil's lap, wrapping an arm around his neck in affection. When the instrumental ended, the two shared a passionate kiss.
"Bring the food! Bring on the drink!" Jamil ordered, wrapping his hands around Y/n waist.
"Today we celebrate the deposal of the old, useless king, and the crowning of a far more deserving successor!" Jamil smiled. "Ahh, I'm on top of the world. I've got all the magic I could ever want at my fingertips" he grinned, sighing happily.
"I could agree more, Master," Kareem said with a blank expression on his face.
"You are the most fit to be king of Scarabia, Jamil," Omar said.
"Long live Master Jamil!" the students cheered.
"Ha ha ha! Thaaat's it" Jamil chuckled. "Go on, keep singing my praises in front of my queen!" he smirked, moving Y/n hair to the side, kissing her soul mark of a snake on the back of her neck
"I never realized what a gallant figure you cut..." a voice said, creeping close, raising a vase above his head, getting ready to drop it on Jamil.
"Oho?" Jamil closed his eyes, unaware of a certain mafia boss behind him, pulling Y/n closer to him.
"You oughta LIVE on a throne..." another voice said.
"And?" Jamil smirked.
"Your intelligence is beyond compare..." said another person.
"There's royalty, and then there's YOU..." one more said.
"You look so strong and powerful!" a cheery voice said.
"I prostrate myself before you," a female voice said.
Jamil then turned to look at his Jasmine, flower. "How about you, my dear?"
"You are a hottest socceror I know" Y/n complimented in a monotone. Of course, the compliment wasn't at all true, she knows ALL of her soulmates are the hottest. NOT just Jamil.
"What a wonderful compliment...haha" Jamil chucked as he left her chin.
Y/n stared into his dreamy eyes, as Jamil pulled her into a kiss
The certain group's jaw dropped, a little afraid of a certain octopus's reaction to all of this while the twins covered the female's eyes. It was obviously, Grim, Yuuna, the Leech twins, Azul, and Kalim.
They watched as Jamil basically made out with Y/n on his throne. Azul looked absolutely furious behind the throne with a vase above his head.
Y/n let out a moan when Jamil started french kissing her as Author-chan started to get embarrassed writing this part due to how shy she was. After all, Author-chan was one of the many simps who simp for the overblot gang.
"My sultan..." Y/n moaned when Jamil started to kiss and leave hickeys on her neck. Man, Y/n is gonna actually die from embarrassment when she snaps back to normal.
"Behind you, Jamil" Avaritia spoke in his mind usually.
At Avaritia's warning, Jamil moved his hand around Y/n's waist and moved out of the way before the vase shattered on the ground. Man, Azul might've actually killed him-
Jamil glared at the person behind the throne. "Wait, it's YOU?!" he gasped. His eyes widen in shock. "I sent you to the ends of this dimension! How did you get back so fast?"
"I filled a dry river with water and we swam" Kalim answered him.
"Not that it was a cakewalk, I'll tell ya" Floyd groaned, tiredly. "I'm pretty worn out!"
"What?!" Jamil yelled. "Tch...Now I see. You used Kalim's signature spell. Hmph. So your little trick had a use after all" Jamil and Avaritia scoffed. "And here I'd written it off as a worthless spell only good for watering plants or filling a pool"
"Heh. It was a shame I didn't put a scratch on you..." Azul growled. "But you clearly don't appreciate Kalim's power for what it is, then"
"Jamil...Now I see what you've thought of me at this time" Kalim said, having a stoic expression instead of his usual smiling demeanor. "There can be no question now. You're a coward and a traitor!"
"Fool" Jamil laughed. "That's what you get for trusting me blindly" he said.
"Face me in combat" Kalim declared. "I'll win back the housewarden seat you've stolen from me"
"You accuse ME of stealing?" Jamil asked. "Hmph! How dare you!" he shouted. "YOU'RE the one who stole everything from ME! Now you shall witness my true power!
