《Winter Wonderland》The Schemer of the Scalding Sands: part 6

Grim started to pant and then wheeze. "I think I've got a whole desert's worth of sand in my throat" he whined. "Kalim, gimme some water!"
"How DARE you take that tone with me," Kalim asked, having a scary tone while glaring at the residents.
Y/n was awake now as she stayed in the shade. Yuuna was hugging her for coolness since Y/n's skin is as cold as ice.
"Eep!" Grim shreiked.
"I am not your faucet" Kalim snapped. "If you want water, draw it from the oasis yourselves"
"You mean the one that's bone dry? How?" Scarabia student A asked.
"This is going beyond tyranny..." mumbled Scarabia student B.
"Seriously, what's wrong with the housewarden?" asked Scarabia student C.
"..." Yuuna and Y/n stayed quiet.
"Don't worry, I came prepared for this" Jamil said to reassure everyone. "Y/n and I packed the camels loaded with water. Offload it and share it amongst yourselves. Y/n made the water extra cool"
"Thank you. If only you were housewarden, Jamil, like Y/n" Scarabia student A thanked.
"Perish the thought. And don't vocalize it" Jamil scolded. "What if Kalim heard you?"
"But it's true!" the student said.
"Even before Housewarden Kalim started acting like this, you were the one doing most of his duties, Jamil" Scarabia Student B said.
"Shh," Jamil shushed the student. "It's fine. It's my family's honora- actually no, it's MY honor to serve the Asims. Drink your water and rest up. It's getting hotter now that the sun's high in the sky. The march back will only be worse"
"Jamil..."
Unknownbest to them, Y/n was listening in.
"All students, assemble! Break time is now over" Kalim announced. "Form ranks, and no lollygagging!"
"Jamil, I...I can't take another day like this" a resident whined.
"I'm done following the housewarden, too!" another resident said.
"Why are you still obeying him, Jamil?!"
"It's because...He's Kalim Al-Asim" Jamil muttered.
"Bullshit! Y/n has a high position than the Asim family yet...she has us treat her as equals on school grounds!"

Jamil..." muttered Y/n who placed a hand on his shoulder.
"It is because you two have served him for so long?" asked Yuuna.
"That's...one reason" Jamil mumbled, placing a hand on Y/n which was on his shoulder.
"Let's have a talk tonight" Jamil said. "I'll arrange things so Kalim doesn't catch us. Yuuna, Y/n, could you spare some time for this as well?" he asked.
"Is everybody here?" Jamil asked. Some students are the Amaryllis trio gathered around in the Lounge at night, when Kalim is most likely asleep.
"Yes, sir. Where's Housewarden Kalim?" Scarabia student A asked.
((You know what. Let's give these motherflippers some names instead of calling them Scarabia student A, B, C.
Author is now searching for Arabic names for the students.
A: Kareem (generous and noble man)
B: Omar (Prosperous)
C: Salman (Protector)
Those are the names. Author literally just typed the first three names from the list she's gotten))
"Sleeping" answered Jamil. " I brewed him a soporific herbal tea from Permafrost. He should be in a deeper sleep than usual" he informed them
"So, what's the deal, and where do we come in?" asked Grim. "I'm exhausted, so make it quick. I wanna get back and pass out"
Y/n had her arms crossed as Yuuna leaned against Y/n for support.
"It's no different for the rest of us. Quiet down" Omar said.
"I understand that you are all unhappy with how Kalim is running things" Jamil frowned. "Being locked in your dorms over winter break and forced to undergo harsh training day in and day out...Who wouldn't resent such harsh treatment? I agree that Kalim's doing is not for the best"
"But Jamil. Why won't you stop him?" asked Y/n.
"Yeah! Why not?!" Kareem asked harshly.
"I have, many times. But he's stopped listening to me" Jamil replied, sighing a bit.
'Excuses excuses' a voice said in Y/n's head, causing Y/n herself to flinch a little, but kept her composed.
'eh?!'
'O-oh! My bad Y/n-chan! So sorry for not introducing myself. Zadkiel sent me to aid you this time" the voice said. 'It's me Kussanali!'

'I see. I guess you being here makes sense. After all, Scarabia and Sumeru have similar architect' Y/n commented in her head.
'I guess so. Also, there is some smart schemes that are happening. I'll be in her head, with you during this. You'll see me in your dreams as well when we need to talk about plans and stuff' Kussanali said.
'I see...let's continue to listen' Y/nsaid. She could've sworn Kussanali nodded her head, inside of Y/n's own.
"If you guys have much of a problem with it, how about sayin' it to Kalim's face instead of whining to Jamil?" asked Grim.
"Well..um..." Omar muttered.
"What, so you can say it to Jamil-senpai, but not to the one behind all the problems?" Y/n questioned, letting out a smirk.
"What a bunch of gutless wimps" Grim huffed.
"Th-that's not true." Kareem argued. "We HAVE tried to talk to him. Over and over, actually!"
"When he's not acting strange, the housewarden really is a broadminded, kindhearted soul..." Omar added.
"Everybody in the dorm used to look up to him before this started happening. We thought we had the finest housewarden in all of Night Raven College" Salman continued.
"When I first enrolled, I had troubled adjusting to dorm life. He lent me a shoulder and let me air it all out" Kareem said.
"When I was struggling to keep up in school and ready to drop out, he joined me for late-night cram sessions to catch up..." Omar admitted.
"Sometimes he's a little cavalier and not totally on top of things, but we all loved our housewarden. It was fun being a Scarabia student. And yet..." Salman sniffled a bit
"I agree. Kalim is truly a fine housewarden" Y/n smiled kindly.
"He treats everyone equally and never puts himself above anyone else" Jamil also agreed before letting out a sigh. "However did it come to this?"
"So it's hard to put your foot down because you look up to him?" Yuuna asked.
"Y'know, it might be a good idea to get Kalim checked out by a doctor" Grim said, raising his paw. "He keeps sayin' one thing, then changing his mind the next minute. Even his personality shifts. That's kinda weird, don'tcha think? What if he ate some bad food or something?"
"Perhaps it's a psychological illness. Or it could be just poi-ow!" Y/n yelped, placing a hand over her forehead. Jamil had flicked her forehead to have her stop being so dramatic.
"That's hard to rule out, Jasmine" Jamil scolded Y/n. "If poison was causing this, then as his poison tester, I would be equally affected"
"Oh ya..." Y/n murmured, having a pout of her face. She was not happy about the fingerflick on her forehead, she made it quite obvious, causing the three students, Jamil and Yuuna to chuckle.
"But a doctor, though? If we go back to the Land of Scalding Sands, the Asim household has a doctor in their employ..." Jamil trailed off. "But as things stand, simply getting him home would be an ordeal in and of itself"
"Damn it" Omar cursed.
"This is getting us nowhere fast" Kareem grumbled.
"The problem facing Scarabia now is similar to a problem that Heartslabyul recently had to address" Jamil said. "There, the students were also forced to live under their housewarden's tyranny, as I understand it. They were all afraid of Riddle's signature spell, and no one could stand against him. Hence, I would like input from you three, since you guys were central in solving Heartslabyul's problem. What do the three of you guys think we should do?" he asked.
"What if you challenged Kalim to a duel and became housewarden yourself, Jamil?" asked Yuuna.
"When everything went down with Riddle, Ace and Deuce challenged him after the headmaster floated the idea" Grim added.
"But of course, those idiots lost to strawberry" Y/n chimed in.
"But hey! Kalim's signature spell ain't nowhere near as threatening as Riddle's. You could probably whoop him with one tied behind your back!" Grim suggested.
"That..." Jamil mumbled. "is the one solution that is utterly out of the question" he concluded, having a sharp scowl on his face.
