"So, Azul...How about you and I make a deal?" Leona grinned.
"I'm...sorry?" Azul asked, fixing his glasses.
"What are you prepared to offer me if I return these contracts to you?" asked Leona.
"I-I'll do anything" Azul stuttered. "I'll give you all the study guides you want. I'll write your graduation thesis. I'll pad your attendance. Anything- just name it!"
'Man...sashimi is really looking pitiful' Y/n sweatdropped a bit and Azul's desperation.
"Interesting. That's a pretty tempting offer" Leona trailed.
Azul's eyes filled with hope. "Then-"
"Here's the thing, though." Leona interrupted. "No offense, but none of that's gonna be enough to justify me returning these contracts"
"What?" Azul then looked worried once again.
"See, Yuuna and Y/n got me over a barrel right now." Leona stated. "If I don't help Team Amaryllis dispose of these contracts, they'll make a huge racket outside my room every day until morning. And lioness here" Leona turned to Y/n who had a sly grin. "she won't give me affection. She'll just treat me as a friend" Leona growled
"Huh...?" Azul gasped.
"Basically, if you take their dorm and Y/n away, Yuuna will take my good night's sleep and Y/n will friendzone me. I want them gone from Savanaclaw and Y/n affection, so these things have gotta go" Leona said.
Azul went pale. "THAT'S what this is all about?!" he asked. "Y-your doing this to make sure Y/n keeps giving you affection...? How is any of that fair?!"
'Not fair, not fair, not fair! I want Y/n to give me affection too...' Azul's eyes teared up, gritting his teeth.
"Sorry, Azul. You're just not quite as dastardly a villain as Yuuna and Y/n is. Besides, Y/n belongs to me, Riddle, and that dragon" Leona grinned
"R-ridiculous...she's supposed to belong to me...Don't do it!" Azul pleaded, more tears forming in his eyes, looking heartbroken.
"I think it's time to destroy them" Y/n ordered as Azul widen his eyes. "A-angelfish!" he pleaded more.
"Right" Leona smirked. "Now..." he activated his unique magic.
"NOOOOO!!!" Azul screamed, rushing towards his contracts, but as soon as he touched them, they turned to sand. "Ah...Aaah...Aaaah!" he screamed, collapsing onto his knees.
"My...My...My golden contracts...All...reduced to dust..." he mumbled in despair.
"Azul's signature spell, It's a deal..." Ruggie started off.
"Once the contract scroll is signed, it cannot be damaged, regardless of how many people try" Y/n continued.
"You made a show of how unbreakable it was several times, just to hammer that impression home..." Leona added. "But there's no such thing as a spell that's completely flawless. Unless you're like lioness here. From what I saw, it looked like they were impervious to damage only under specific conditions. Namely, either being in the VIP room or being in your hands. And judging by how easily my magic turned them to sand, I was right."

"The contract scrolls themselves are just a piece of paper. Nothing more, nothing less" Y/n crossed her arms.
"I...I don't believe this..." Azul mumbled in disbelief.
"Shyeheehee! You could just knock Yuuna into next week for trying to blackmail you." Ruggie chuckled. "I've been wonderin' why you'd go to all this trouble, and I think I've finally figured it out"
"Oh yeah?" questioned Leona.
"You've made a contract with Azul before didn't you?~" Y/n teased. Ruggie smirked as well, going to the other side of the lion. "This whole thing is way for you to conveniently red rid of it" he grinned.
"Hah...Nobody likes snoop, y'know. I'm just a nice guy who can't ignore a friend in need, that's all. Heh heh" Leona chuckled.
Y/n chuckled as well, hiding her face with a feathered fan.
"Haw! Listen to you, laughin' at your own jokes. I should've taken a peek at what kinda contract you made before you sanded 'em down" Ruggie snickered.
"My Angelfish!" Azul cried out towards Y/n. "Please...come with me! S-Stay with me...!" he reached out a hand for her to grab. "P-please!"
Y/n slapped Azul's hand away. "Not a chance. After all, I don't...no...I hate being treated like some doll for you to dress and cage!" she glared through her dull eyes. "I'm sorry, Sashi- I mean, Azul-senpai"
Azul's eyes widen in shock, looking more heartbroken than before. He backed away a bit, in shock.
Y/n flinched in surprise when the shadow of Invidia appeared over Azul, whispering words in his ear.
"Ah...Ahhh..." Azul whimpered.
"Hm?" Leona questioned as Ruggie looked over Y/n who was a horrified expression on her face, as if, she was looking at a ghost.
"Aaah, aaah...." Azul's shoulder began to shake as he hugged his shoulders, gritting his teeth as Invidia continued to taunt him.
"NGAAAAH! I HATE THIS!" Azul screamed out.
"Huh?!" Leona, Ruggie, and Y/n flinched back in surprise at Azul's outburst.
"It's gone. My carefully amassed collection of magic...My omnipotent power..." Azul said softly.
"What in the world?" questioned Leona.
"Talk about Changin' your tune..." mumbled Ruggie.
"Azul...." Y/n frowned.
Tears of frustration rolled down his face. "All of it, up in spoke! How could you DO this to me?!" he screams. "Without that, I...I..." he stuttered. "I'm back to being that 'silly little octo-twerp' again!" he continued yelling, more tears dripping down his face. "That's the last thing I want...I refuse, I refuse, I REFUSE! I don't WANNA go back to being my old self again!"

Darkness swirled around Azul and formed into the air around the,.
"What's going on?! There's a black aura growing..." Leona asked, pushing Y/n behind him.
Ruggie's ears flattened against his head. "This is your fault for gettin' his hopes up and then dashing 'em on the rocks, Leona!" he then turned to Azul. "Okay, Okay. Let's all just...take a deep breath and chill for a second. Okay?"
"SHUT UP!!!" Azul shouted, rising to his feet once again. "You don't know me how Y/n does! You don't know my life how Y/n does!" he cried out, his voice cracking with other emotions besides heartbreak. "All that time I spent being proudly mocked for my weakness...My intellect...Nobody could EVER understand like how my angelfish does!"
Azul went silent for a bit as his face became dull
"Azul...please snap out of it! Don't like Invidia take control!" Y/n called out.
Then Azul had a sick smile grew on his face. ".....Heh. Heh heh heh" he laughed darkly. "Of course. It's so simple. If you lose something...just take it back. Give them to me. Come on. I want your prowessess....GIVE THEM TO ME!"
The trio began to back away. "Stop it...Invidia...stop it!" Y/n cried out.
"What was that flash?" Jack asked, as the light faded.
Yuuna turned to see that the anemones were gone from Ace, Deuce, and Grim's head. "Hm...? Hey! Deuce, your anemone's gone!" said Ace.
"Whoa! You're right!" Deuce smiled, patting the top of his head to find that the anemone really was gone.
"So's mine!" Grim cheered. "Yours too, Ace! Swwt! Leona, Ruggie, and Y/n pulled through!"
"Wait. Come again?" Jade asked, his eyes widened.
"What's goin' on here?" Floyd asked, a little nervous.
"We cut a deal with Leona an' Ruggie to get them in on our plan" Grim said.
"Say what? The guy's basically a sea lion, sleepin' his day away. He'd never lift a finger to help you guys" Floyd whined.
"I was under the impression he had no interest in creating disputes with his fellow housewarden, Azul. I should never have underestimated his possessiveness over Angelfish" Jade gritted his teeth.
"You see, I made a offer with Y/n help...If Leona-senpai helped us take back Amaryllis dorm and Y/n freedom, we'd leave his room tomorrow without a fuss" Yuuna smiled.
"But if he didn't help, we'd keep raisin' a racket outside his room all night, every night. Then we game him a... 'live demo,' I'll call it, to show how annoying it'd be. We basically yowled out lungs out until daybreak, and now we're super sleep-deprived." Grim explained.
"Hehe, Y/n did a better job. After all, she was making all sorts of funny sounds in her Dragon-phoenix form." Yuuna chuckled at the memory.
"whoa..." Jade and Floyd gasped.
"No wonder you were so hoarse this morning, Grim" Deuce said.
"That sounds less like a deal and more like a threat to me" Floyd said in his threatening voice.
"You know what they say: one bad turn deserves another" Jack grinned, crossing his arms.
"My wind magic's back, too. It's time to turn the tables here!" Ace explained, grinning.
"I summon thee, cauldron!" Deuce commanded. "...Sweet, it worked!" he beamed when a cauldron appeared.
"Myaah! I can't even tell if I got my fire magic back or not in all this water!" Grim whined. "That ain't fair!"
" Somehow I think we'll manage without your parlor tricks" Ace assured the raccoon.
"We'd best be getting back, Floyd. If the anemones are gone from their heads..." Jade frowned, growing worried for Azul.
"Yeah, I got a real bad feelin' about this" Floyd mumbled, also worried for his head.
"Not so fast. Where do you think you're going now that we're finally in fighting shape?" asked Deuce.
"I-I think we should go back" Yuuna mumbled.
"Where's the fun in turning tail now?" Ace taunted. "Stick around and play with us"
"You small-fry pipsqueak...I'll have you cryin' before you know it!" Floyd scowled.
"Floyd, ignore them!" Jade called out. "Ugh" Jade groaned when Floyd was already fighting them. "Too late"
"Nnngh, for cryin' out loud!" Floyd cursed, being thrown back from Yuuna's golden chains. "These guys are getting on my nerves!"
"We need to go, Floyd. I don't think we have the luxury of toying with them any longer" Jade advised.
"Tch...Fine. Let's move" FLoyd rolled his eyes before swimming back to Octavinelle with his brother.
"Yesss! They're headin' for the hells! Er, do they have hills underwater?" questioned Grim. "Whatever"
"We'd better get back to school ourselves" Yuuna suggested.
Jack nodded in agreement. "Let's shove his photo in Azul's face and spoon-feed him the bitter taste of defeat!"

City of Captives
In the Qursan Empire, the grey walls of the City press down on its subjects. It is a highly divided society which is based on the magical strength of its citizens. While the most powerful are trained as Mages, the majority of citizens use their limited skills with Essence to power the City in their assigned jobs. Jano is pretty much the lowest of the low in the Qursan Empire. A Class Ten citizen forced into transitory work after having his power restricted. When he gets the opportunity to change all of that, he takes it with both hands. This is a slow burning progression fantasy. Please expect at least two chapters per week. I love writing this story but I do have unfortunate things to deal with like work and life outside of writing. I may be able to write and edit more than that, but it will never be less! This is largely still a draft. I hope to use any comments and reviews in the future. Thanks for reading!
