《Winter Wonderland》The Merchant from the Depths: part 29

Yuuna and Grim were outside of Amaryllis grounds, in front of the front gate. "Man...Imma miss seeing the cherry blossoms and wisteria from my window..." Yuuna mumbled, mentally crying from not being able to see a beautiful view from her window.
Suddenly, Grim froze as he realized what Floyd had called him. "Hey! Wait! Say that to my face!" he shouted at the front door of the ice palace. "NOBODY CALLS ME A BABY SEEEEAAL!"
*Whooooosh*
"Brr...Guess we're roughin' it tonight. This stinks" Grim complained, trembling from the cold.
"And whose fault is that?" Y/n asked, appearing next to Yuuna. Yuuna's eyes immediately brighten when she turns to her right to see her female friend. "[Nickname]!" she yelped, having teary puppy-dog eyes.
Y/n let out a chuckle as she patted Yuuna's head. "There, there. I'm here. There is no way I'm gonna be prisoned in my own dorm" she spoke in a dark tone.
Yuuna let out a nervous chuckle as she picked him Grim, who was shivering from the cold. "We'd better start looking for some cover" Yuuna sighed. Y/n used one of her wings to go around Yuuna and Grim, to have some sort of warmth. "Thank you, [nickname]" she thanked.
"No problem, Yuuna" Y/n said.
Then, they heard a familiar voice as Y/n heard people heading to them. "Hey, Yuuna! Grim! Y/n!" a boy called out. It was Deuce with Ace and Jack following behind.
Grim turn his head as his face immediately brightens. "Myah! Are you guys here to help?"
"hm..." Ace rubbed his neck in a guilty manner. "Not to help you, but it's kinda our fault that Yuu is out in the cold. It wouldn't sit right with me if you slept outside and caught a cold or somethin'...heck, Y/n doesn't even look that bothered from the cold" Ace said.
"What is it with you and posturin'?" Grim bluntly complained, crossing his paws while still being carried in Yuuna's arms, snuggling into Y/n's feathers that were around the human girl to keep warm.
"We've talked with Housewarden Rosehearts" Deuce informed them. "We can offer you a place safe from the elements if you don't mind sleeping in our four-man freshman dorm room. And as for Y/n, she will sleep in Housewarden's room"
"Riddle really offered that huh" Y/n muttered. "Hmm, but I bet Riddle must be furious right now. I suggest that he take a breather first" Y/n said.
Jack nodded. "You guys are gonna cram ANOTHER two bodies into a crowded four-man room?" Jack asked. "What, does Heartslabyul not have any empty rooms?"
"Since nobody in our dorm ever drops out or gets held back, it's always at full capacity," Deuce tells them.
"Then...why don't you come to Savanaclaw Drom instead?" Jack offered.
Yuuna, Y/n, and Grim widen their eyes as Deuce and Ace yelped in surprise.
"HUH!?"
"I acted like I was doin' Yuuna a favor by sticking around for those negotiations with Azul, but I didn't actually contribute at all" Jack whimpered, his ears flattened against his head. Y/n could've sworn that her heart had just been stabbed. "And considering how much we owe you guys for everything that went down at the Spelldrive tournament, Leona and the others won't make a peep about it."

"Oh-hooo...." Deuce started off. "Daaang." Ace slurred. "I never knew you were such a big softie, Jack!" he said, laughing.
"You learn something new every day!" Grim laughed as well as Yuuna giggled softly.
"Such a good boy, Jack~" Y/n teased. Man, is she becoming like Crewel? Nah, it's because Jack is a literal wolf boy!
Jack blushed from embarrassment. "D-don't get me wrong, okay?!" he snapped. "I want our next round of exams to be on a level playing field. It's in my best interests for Yuuna to win that bet Azul!" okay, whatever you tell yourself at self, buddy.
"Yeah, sure, whatever you say" Ace chuckled a bit.
"Yuuna, Y/n, and Grim will probably seep way better there anyway," Deuce said, nodding his head in agreement.
"Yeah, Yuuna's options at our dorm would be a spot on the floor or sharin' a bed with me or Deuce...." Ace said. "Y'know, that IS still on the table. Juuust sayin'..." he mumbled. "And it would be best for Y/n to be there until Riddle cools off!"
"We'll say at Savanaclaw, then," Y/n said, making the final decision.
"Yeah...I'm not a fan of cramped spaces..." Yuuna muttered, trying to not hurt their feelings.
"Ha ha! It's cool. I was kidding anyways" Ace laughed it off.
"Great, then we'd better get back. It's almost midnight as it is..." Jack said, yawning.
"Okay, see you guys tomorrow" Ace waved goodbye.
"Have a good night" Deuce walked to Yuuna, and gave her a goodnight kiss on her forehead, having Yuuna blush a little.
"Oi! Let's just leave already!" a jealous Ace said, walking away from them, pulling Deuce along who obviously not happy about it. Y/n chuckled a bit when seeing their retreating figures.
"You did what?!" Leona growled, glaring at Yuuna who looked down in guilt. He was angry. Not only did Azul put Y/n as collateral as well, but Yuuna also signed the contract. So if Yuuna failed to complete the terms of the contract, Amarliyss and HIS Y/n (Along with Malleus's and Riddle's. Don't forget about the other four~) will belong to that octopus. Azul most likely wouldn't allow Y/n to see her soulmates due to Invidia's influence on him.
"I'm really sorry, Leona..." Yuuna muttered an apology. She felt guilty after all. But she didn't want to give up.
Leona let out a long sigh. "Y/n can stay. But you two" he pointed to Yuuna and Grim, who were still in her arms. "Not a chance" he bluntly said.
"You didn't even pause before answering..." Jack complained. Y/n covered her mouth to prevent a chuckle from escaping.
"No pets allowed in the dorm. They shed all over the place" Leona pointed out. Oh, the irony.
'says the actual cat' Y/n thought with a dumbfounded expression.
"Frist of all, I AIN'T NO PET," Grim said. "Second of all, I DO NOT!" he exclaimed, huffing in anger. "Aren't you guys, like a billion times furrier than me?! Heck even Y/n tail sheds her tail like some sort of lizard, and she has fluffy fur at the end!" Grim pointed out.

Yuuna sweatdropped a bit.
"This is about you, not us" Ruggie snickered.
"For one thing...Our empty rooms haven't been cleaned in months. Dorm students use 'em as a dumping ground for their junk." Leona said, making an excuse. "Where are we supposed to put up two extra freeloaders?" Leona asked. After all, he did say Y/n can stay.
"Well, Yuuna can sleep with me!" Ruggie volunteered, rasing his hand aka his paw in the air early.
"Not happening," Y/n said in an instant. She's not letting Yuuna stay with a horny Hyena.
"Hmm, then about Jack?" Ruggie asked, grinning.
"Doesn't he have four other roommates?" Leona asked, perking an eyebrow.
"A definite no" Y/n instantly said again. Yuuna surrounded by 5 horny animals is worse!
The Ruggie came up with another idea, letting out a grin, "Ooh, I know! Why don't you just bunk with 'em in your room, Leona? Yuuna also gets to be with Y/n"
"What?!"
"Ruggie, if you keep flapping your lips, you're about to find 'em sewn shut. Or perhaps frozen" Leona warned.
"Think of it this way, Leona. You're used to having people do everything for ya, right?" Ruggie started off. "What if we 'em in charge of serving you instead of charging for room and board? And Y/n will be there, so it seems like a win-win to me and you" he grinned.
"Grrr...." Leona growled. "Ruggie, you little..."
"Hey, I still ain't fully healed up from the interdorm Spelldrive tournament, y'know?" okay now Ruggie is just playing dirty. "I dunno if it was that major magic I chugged a whole potion to use or what, but hard work's been wearin' me down more than ever lately. ANd if I might remind you, Leona, I busted my tail for you. So I'm thinkin' I'd heal a whole lot faster if I had Yuuna and Grim waiting on you for awhile!"
"Tch. You're a regular mercenary sometimes" Leona scoffed.
"Hey now, I haven't said a single dishonest word! Shihihihi" Ruggie laughed.
"Maybe, but I don't let just anyone cozy up to me like that who isn't lioness," Leona said. Then he had an idea. "Hey, boys! C'mere for a sec!" he called out to the residents in the lounge.
"Yes, sir! You called, Housewarden?" a student asked.
"Oh, hey, it's Lioness and the schumucks who spied on Savanaclaw before the Spelldrive tournament!" a student exclaimed.
"Ain't every day an escape quarry comes back to us! Heh heh heh!" another student laughed.
"Listen up! Y/n will be staying here for a few days. I better not catch you flirting or even glaring at MY lioness or else!" he warned.
"Y-YES SIR!" the students yelped.
"And as for you two", Leona looked at Yuuna and Grim. "Fight my dorm's students. If you win, I'll let you stick around with Y/n as gophers. I don't care if it IS just for three days. Savanaclaw's got no use for dead weight, no matter how short or long you stay"
Yuuna flinched as the Savanaclaw residents prepared for the fight by taking out their magic pens
"P-please be gentle!" Yuuna pleaded.
"Alright, bring it on!" Grim yelled, preparing for the fight.
Y/n sweatdropped as she watched Yuuna fight on her own with Grim.
A few minutes go by as the residents were on the floor, defeated by Yuuna and Grim. "How could you lose to some puny little herbivores that fast?" Leona scoffed. "You're givin' me a bad name over here"
"Yipe! Sorry, sir!" a student apologized.
"Okay, a deal's a deal! I want that three-day stay and I want it now!" Grim exclaimed as Yuuna nodded in agreement.
"Grr...." Leona growled. "Tch. Just remember, even the slightest bit of trouble from you guys and you'll be out the door faster than you can say 'tune casserole.' You hear me?"
"Y-yes, sir!" Yuuna stuttered.
Y/n let out a sigh. "Maybe Ace and Deuce's room would be better for your mental health..." she muttered.
"Phew. At least now we don't gotta sleep outside" Grim says, letting out a sigh of relief.
"All right. Jack, bring some spare bedding to Leona's room" Ruggie ordered.
"Will do" Jack replied, walking away to do the task he was given.
"Shihihihihi! Lucky me! I get to coast down easy street for three whole days!" Ruggie snickered.
"I heard that, you know" Leona snapped. "You're in for it later" he warned. "Okay, herbivores. Get the lead out and follow me" Leona said as he swept Y/n up, bridal style, causing her to let out a shriek from shock as her face turned red.
"Heh. C'mon my Lioness. Let's get you to bed for your beauty sleep" Leona smirked as he walked towards his room with Yuuna and Grim behind him.
"Daaang! Now, this is a wild man's room!" Grim said, looking around the room.
Yuuna would chuckle as she set up her futon that Jack left for her and Grim to sleep on the floor.
"Quit yer gawkin' I'm goin' to bed now," Leona said, putting Y/n on the bed with himself following. Yuuna laid on her futon, resting her head on the pillow while snuggling into the blankets.
Y/n was like, already passed on. Man, she was dead tired. She wanted to take advantage of the opportunity of her three-day break from doing her imperial duties.
"If you disturb my sleep or even my lioness's, I'll turn you into shag carpet," Leona warned. He let out a low growl as he pulled Y/n closer to his chest, resting his head in between her horns before falling into a complete slumber.
"He was out in literally three seconds!" Grim gasped.
"Keep it down" Yuuna whispered, pulling Grim into the blankets, having him sleep by her side as usual. "We don't want to wake him"
Grim settled in Yuuna's arms. "I'll make sure to help you free Y/n" he whispered in determination.
Yuuna petted him. "Thank you, Grim. Let's go to sleep now" she said before falling asleep herself with Grim not far behind.
