"Here's the deal...I bid you pilfer a certain photograph from the Atlantica Memorial Museum in the Coral Sea before the sun sets on the third day from now" Azul revealed.
"What?" Yuuna perked an eyebrow.
"You want us to steal a piece of art?!" exclaimed Jack. He was peeved.
Jade was shocked to hear about this, looking at Azul in surprise.
"No, not a piece of art" Azul shook his head. "A photo. One commemorating a visit to the museum from Prince Rielle, taken ten years ago"
"Gonna need more detail than that.." Yuuna muttered.
"It's a photo panel placed right near the museum entrance. It has no historic value whatsoever" Azul stated. "Borrowing it would not cause any particular fuss"
"Then why do you want it at all?" asked Grim.
"Heh. What's the point of a challenge if it's not challenging?" Azul smirked. "If I were to concoct a trifling errand, I would simply be giving away my end of it, wouldn't I? I'm not running a charity here"
"The Atlantica Memorial Museum is a renowned tourist attraction that houses a good twenty different cultural artifacts. That includes the Silver Hair Comb, a Coral Sea national treasure, the Mermaid Princess's Prized Cork Openers, and a scale belonging to the great dragon spirit, Leviathan, among others. We're not asking you to find a speck of gold dust on the seabed here" Jade explained.
"Oh, hey, didn't we go there on an elementary school field trip once?" Floyd asked, remembering the time they went there.
"Hold on" Jack interrupted them. "The nation of the Coral Sea is at the bottom of the ocean, right? It's not exactly hospitable to land mammals like us with no fins or gills except for Levia-faes. I think you're askin' too much here" Jack stated.
"What he said! I can't breathe underwater, y'know!" Grim added.
"That sounds like a "you" problem...is what I would normally say, but fear not. I will provide you with our very own magic potion. They'll enable you to breathe underwater." Azul said. " After all, I wouldn't want you to have to ask my angelfish for some of her scales..." he mumbled.
Azul looked out a potion that was shaped into the Sea Witch's shell. "Once, when a poor little mermaid princess fell in love with a human, the Sea Witch was kind enough to grant her legs to walk upon the earth. And really, what are any of us without a sense of charity?" Azul asked before chuckling. "So, what do you say? Do we have a deal? Will you agree to a contract with me? I'm afraid I don't have all day, so if you could make your decision now, I'd appreciate it. Chop, chop!"

Yuuna was slient the whole time, deep in thought. 'Y/n will kill me for this..' she cried in her head. "It's a deal!" she made the deal.
Azul gave Yuuna a golden contract. "Excellent! Go ahead and sign the scroll, then..." Azul looked overjoyed. "I give you my word that I will release the 225 sea anemones currently doing my bidding. Should you fail at your challenge, however...Amaryllis Dorm will belong to me and Y/n will be all mine!" Azul let out a dark laugh as Yuuna signed the Contract.
"Heh heh heh...there we are. Signature received" Azul rolled up the contract and put it away. "The contract is now in effect. Should you successfully steal the photo from the Atlantica Memorial Museum and bring it to me before sunset on the third day from now...
"What did I sign myself and Y/n up for...." Yuuna mumbled as she stood up from her seat.
"Jade. Floyd. If you could kindly walk our guests home? I'll see you in three days" Azul smirked as Jade and Floyd nodded they head.
Yuuna and Jack, along with Grim walked out of the VIP room as Y/n, back in her uniform. By the way, when Yuuna and Y/n walked into the mirror of Octavinelle, their uniforms changed to that of the Octavinelle theme, author forgot to mention that.
"Hey guys, so how did the meeting go?" Y/n asked. Even though she knows what happened already, she still want to ask so it doesn't cause some suspicion.
"W-well..." Yuuna then started to explain what happened in the VIP room. From explaining the original deal and...how Y/n was also collertal along with the dorm she work so hard (well maybe not work hard since it was easy-) to build.
Y/n was stiff as a statue when those words out of Yuuna's mouth about Yuuna agreeing to the conditions. Man, if they fall this, Y/n has to be Azul's unless the contract is uh gone. Man, Riddle, Leona, and Malleus would NOT be happy.
"W-what?!" she shrieked as it uh, kinda caused a soundwave to uh blow wind, causing some glass to shatter, some chairs to break, and furinature. Y/n apolozied multipal times and left enough money to pay for the damages-
"oho. So this is the famous Ice palace of Amaryllis. This is my first time inside, and already I'm smitten by its beauty" Jade noted, as Y/n glared ice daggers towards the twins. "It's close to school as well. It would be a perfect site for a Mostro Lounge branch cafe"

"There's ghosts living here, right? That sounds rad" Floyd said. "Cool, there are event ice statues!" he explained.
"Why're you going followin' us inside, anyway?" Grim asked, looking over Yuuna shoulder who stood by Y/n.
"Uh, 'cause this place is collateral in a deal between Yuuna and Azul? Duh?" Floyd said, grinning while looking at the raccoon with amusement.
"Myah?!" exclaimed Grim.
"Unlike the rest of you, Yuuna has magic that only SHE can use, which means Azul nor us can use it. So we're confiscating the dorm. Since Y/n is also collateral, she will be coming with us" Jade informed them in a polite manner.
"Ara?" Y/n had a dark smile with mulitpal tick marks on her face.
"Say WHAT!?" Grim yelped.
"This palace and Y/n will belong to Azul until you hold up your end of the bargain. Hence, I'm afraid I must ask the two of you to vacate the premises immediately, except for Y/n" Jade explained.
"Don't worry, we'll give you time to pack your stuff, Yuuna. So nice, right?" Floyd cooed.
"Once this dorm and Y/n are offically in Azul's possession, we will be disposing of all personal belongings in it." Jade told Yuuna and Grim. "I suggest you prepare accordingly" he advised.
"Heh heh heh." Floyd laughed. "Don't worry! We'll give it all back if you bring us the photo before the third sunset"
"Heh heh heh heh" Jade and Floyd laughed.
Something snapped inside of Y/n causing a dark aura to surround her. Then, she open her mouth and began chanting a cursed song.
"Blood, blood, blood. All it wants is blood. Give the Guillotine the blood off- hmmmph!" Y/n's mouth was covered by Yuuna to stop her from causing intense to the twins out of anger.
"please stop...! Cursing them won't solve a thing!" Yuuna scolded her. Y/n just let out a muffled scoff.
Jade and Floyd sweatdropped a little. They could've sworn they saw a illusion of a actually guillotine behind Y/n when she starting chanting the song.
Floyd made a nervous chuckle. "Permafrost citizens and their Empress do have such a cold temper" he told his told.
"Please do calm down, your majesty. We promise to take care of you and your lovely dorm" Jade said.
"MRAAAH! I gotta save all the tuna!" Grim yelped, running to the kitchen to collect his pericous fish.
"I'd better start with my school uniform and study supplies...." Yuuna mumbled.
"No way am I being some doll for Azul to possess" Y/n thought it her head, obviously really ittiraited.
"Are you two all set?" Jade asked.
"Pease, Little Shrimpy and Baby Seal! See you around!" Floyd waved goodbye.
"And if you're in need of lodging, feel free to come and speak to us. Reservations for guest rooms in Octavinelle Dorm start at 100 mora a night" Jade stated as he slapped the door shut.
Y/n was about to leave but was stopped by Floyd. "Angelfish, where do you think your going?" he asked.
"There no way if I'm staying here with I'm not with my friends. After all, I'm not some dog for you to cage in" Y/n glared at the twins.
"But, your majesty. Since your also part of the deal, you must stay here until Miss Yuuna comes back with the photo" Jade informed her.
"So what?" Y/n would let out a grin as she walked closer to Jade, forcing him to look down at her and her heterochromatic eyes. "I am the Empress of Permafrost. I don't take orders from anyone lower than me. So it would be best to tell that Octo-cutie that I'm going with my friends. Alright? Alright!" Y/n ordered as she turned around towards the door, stomping her foot on the ground, casting dark magic to freeze Jade and Floyd in place. "And you won't stop nor follow me. So cya~" she said.
'Make sure to make their time here absolutely miserable, my cute familiars~' she commanded in her head.
"Alright" answered Anya
"As you wish~" replied Genji
"Tch, They dare try to command an Empress" complained Guin
"We won't disappoint you, m'lady" Estella spoke in a joyful tone.
"We will make them regret their life choices" Mochi said.
"Don't be too harsh on them! But we will follow your command, M'lady" Dottie replied.
Y/n would chuckle 'Your two soft, Dottie' she thought before teleporting away from the palace-like dorm, leaving butterflies behind, like Malleus leaves fireflies when he teleports somewhere.
Jade sweatdropped a bit. "Awe, she got away" Floyd complained.
"Let's leave it alone, Floyd. After all, we wouldn't want to get further onto her bad side" Jade warned.
A shadow would smirk at the amount of blot she was collecting.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
