《Winter Wonderland》Usurper from the wilds: part 3

"I call to order this meeting of housewardens. Our agenda today concerns the October Spelldrive tournament"
Crowley announced, standing in front of a mirror, in front of Seven housewardens, who have gathered for the meeting. All were there, except one certain housewarden.
I let out a sigh, I knew this would happen. But for the sake of the story, I can't invite Mal-Mal...
Certainly, Vil decided to style for hair for a bit, with permission, of course, making sure he is careful around my horns. I noticed a certain lion let out a yawn, glaring at the headmaster.
When I entered the mirror chamber a few minutes ago, the stinging was there again, as my rose mark felt warm. It might be an effect of finding my second soulmate, who stood next to me during the meeting, while Vil, stood behind me, making my silk-like h/c hair, smooth.
Everyone was sitting in their ice chairs, created by yours truly. After all, standing for a while is not only tiring, it makes your legs ache. (Does anyone relate?)
"Let us begin with the report from the head of the tournament planning committee: Mr. Ashengrotto of Octvinelle house"
Azul stood up, "Greetings. I am Azul Ashengrotto, and it is my honor to lead the planning committee." he would move his glasses back in place because they are hella annoying when they slip down your damn nose!
"I am pleased to announce that we have fully booked the grounds surrounding the coliseum. All of the kiosk space allotted to both internal organizations and external businesses is now full" he told us.
Kalim, who was dressed in casual wear, lead forward on his chair, clearly excited for the tournament. "Sweet! This tournament should be a real lively one, then. Especially since Camelius will be playing this year! "
"All invitations to various royalty have been sent, and public tickets are selling briskly. Even the ice queen of Snezhnaya will be attending as well" Azul says, causing everyone to widen their eyes in shock. "And, as in the past years, we have received numerous requests to cover the event from both television stations and print media" Azul finishes.
"Wow. I can't believe mother found the time to come to this event" I chuckled. "Sounds like the whole world will be watching! Especially Lady Tsaritsa, what an honor" Kalim grinned ear to ear. "Before I was admitted here, I looked forward to receiving my VIP invitation every year" Kalim then turned to the lion. "I imagine you got them too, Leona? We might have run into each other at the tournament when we were kids!"
Leona groaned in annoyance, clearly uninterested in the conversation. "Who knows? And also, who cares?" he scoffed, turning away from the cheery Scarabia housewarden.
"This year, I'll have to work extra hard on my makeup to make sure I'm shining like a diamond on the new Ultravision displays," Vil says while having just finished my hair. "With all the exertion, I'll need to be touching it up constantly!" he exclaimed dramatically. Causing me to have a dumbfounded look on my face, and Riddle to scowl.
"House Pomefiore is the only dorm that regularly called timeouts to fix their makeup" RIddle sighed, pitching his nose a bit. He was glad that Vil had finished my hair. I can see it on his face.
"How can you all be excited to be on TV?" the floating iPad spoke. "Just the idea of it makes me wanna puke"
Azul, who has been patiently standing quietly, silently glaring at everyone who had interrupted him. It seems that he wasn't done talking after all. He cleared his throat to gain everyone's attention, "As I was saying"

Everyone turned back to the Octvinelle Housewarden. "Oops, sorry!" Kalim apologizes.
Azul let out a sigh before continuing to explain, "Now, as soon as your dorms' player rosters are settled, leaving Amaryllis as an exception since it's new...I'll need your registration documents. Any dorm that is even a single day late-"
"Will be promptly disqualified, I trust" Riddle asked, cutting off Azul.
Azul then let out a smile, with a hint of mischief. 'oh boy'
"No. They will be charged a handling fee. Consider it remuneration for rush processing" Azul grinned. Riddle then tilted his head, angrily, obviously not happy about the change of rules, "what? I don't approve of you changing the rules to allow for policy exceptions!"
I gently grabbed Riddle's hand, rubbing circles on the top of his wrist with my finger. Riddle seemed to have calmed down from my touch. Aw, he is so cute.
Kalim clapped his hands in glee, "And I couldn't be more grateful for it!" he chuckled.
Crowley then let out a sigh of disappointment. "Let's try to stay on topic. We need to discuss the tournament bracket. I had an idea I'd like to propose"
"And this is....?" Riddle and I asked in unison.
"It concerns the Diasomnia housewarden. I think that we should induct Mr. Draconia into the hall of fame, next to Camelius, to keep him off the field entirely." Crowley announced.
Everyone had either shocked or annoyed expressions on all the housewardens. While I just stared at Crowley with a dumbfounded expression. Man, I can sense incoming headaches.
"Say whaaat?!" Kalim shouts, clearly shocked.
Leona turned to the headmaster, glaring daggers at him like he was about to beat him up. "What are you on about?" he hissed.
"Ever since Mr. Draconia enrolled here, no dorms has scored even a single point against Diasomnia, bringing back the wins made from Diasomnia 1000 years ago. And like back then, Diasomnia regularly scores 100 points per game, with 90% of them being from Mr. Draconia himself," he says.
Everyone just sighed, remembering the defeats.
"1000 years ago...do you mean f/n Chione?" Idia asked. He couldn't help but shiver at the thought. F/n Chione was a legend in the tournament. "Wasn't he also a Levia-fae?" Riddle asked.
"Indeed, Mr. Rosehearts. After all, F/n Chione is no other than the father of Miss. Chione" Crowley says. Everyone turned to me in shock. I could only avert my eyes a bit, pretending not to notice their looks.
"You're the daughter of the Diasomnia Housewarden from 1000 years ago?! Where is he now?" Kalim asked. Everyone has heard about the Legendary F/n Chione. "Oh? He's 6 feet underground" I said like it was nothing.
Everyone immediately had a sad look on their faces, except for Leona, who only looked angry. "We're so sorry for your lost" Azul frowned.
"Don't worry about it, after all, it was 500 years ago" I spoke.
"but-"
"Now that you mention it when we had to face them last year, it did feel completely futile" Kalim spoke, changing the subject so the mood could lighten.
"The dude totally breaks the game. It's like he got cheat codes enabled" the voice from the iPad spoke, clearly irritated by all the defeats.
"Amusement is not the only goal of this tournament" Crowley sweatdropped a bit. "Our hope is that spectators the world over will discover talented new mages. However...Recent matches have been ending without anyone, save Mr. Draconia and Miss Chione, casting a single spell. And that included his own teammates! And that is a less-than-optimal state of affairs"

"I'm all for it. Getting stomped isn't exactly fun for us either" Idia spoke from the iPad.
"I know many members of Savanaclaw House aspire to play against Camelius, even if it means losing. Along with playing in the Spelldrive pro league. Savanaclaw House had never landed in less than third place in the history of this school ever since 100 years passed since Mr. Chione's graduation. And yet, in both of the last two years, you've been eliminated in the first round after being matched against Diasomnia House." oh boy, just keep throwing oil into the fire now wouldya? "That's certainly not impressing any recruiters. Thus, this matter of disproportionate performance directly affects your players' future"
No one thought it was possible to even win against Diasomina, and their defeats might increase been Amaryllis joins next year, with myself, Y/n Chione, winning for the team. After all, I'm greater than Malleus and the other great magicians. Leona's glare had turned 100 times worse when Crowley mentioned his own dorm. His aura turned even darker, with a raging flame of wrath and jealously.
"It certainly brings me no pleasure to suggest it. Regardless, Mr. Draconia has already agreed to be inducted into the hall of fame, along with his fiance, Miss Chione. All we need now is the committee's approval" Crowley spoke.
"So you're sayin' we need a handicap. Y/n doesn't have a say in this because her agreeing is just being biased, after all, it is obvious that his Fiance will agree..." Leona growled, glaring at me. Riddle stood in front of me as if he was protecting me from the lion's glare.
Leona let out a tch, turning his attention back at Crowley. "Listen and listen well, Teach...Ain't mothin' I hate more than someone tellin's me "you can't win" before I even begin to fight" Leona scoffed.
"No, that is not my intention-" Crowley was cut off by Leona, "Then what is it?" he asked, glaring towards the Headmaster. "First of all, Spelldrive ain't a game about power. It's all about what's up HERE, in your head!" Leona says, pointing to his head.
"I'm pretty sure my head can't beat Malleus's or Y/n's," Kalim said, sighing.
I could only sweatdrop a bit. Ever since I played this part of the Savanaclaw arc, I never understood why this was such a big deal. Idia agreed at the end of the meeting in the game.
"I don't doubt that. But mine can." he clenched his fist. "Sure, in a battle of brute force, no one's beatin' him except his pisky fiance. But in a battle of wits- that's a different story" he spoke.
I couldn't help but smirk, "Oya?~"
I couldn't help but notice that the housewarden, minus Kalim, blushed about how I said "Oya." This shocked me because I thought it was a normal term, but my voice just made it sound sexy-
WHY DOES MY VOICE HAVE TO SOUND LIKE A MILF?!
They cleared their throats when I hide in Riddle's shirt, face completely matching his hair. I heard him silently chuckle at my behavior. Jeez, why is he laughing at my miserable state?! He is just like Malleus!
"Intriguing..." Azul smirked, as everyone silently told Leona to continue. "Ahem...The king of beasts from the Great Seven, now Eight, won his throne through running and persistence. Just as the Tsaritsa won over the Permafrost empire. You should be wrackin' your brains, trying to come up with a way to beat that Monster!"
Jeez! He is brutal. I literally thought I just got stabbed by his words. "Whichever team figures that out is gonna be sittin' REAL pretty on the world stage. Are you gonna let a once-in-a-lifetime chance like that get yanked out from under you?" Leona smirked.
Vil also let out a smirk. "For once, Leona is making perfect sense." He spoke, then turned to the Headmaster. "I agree- this plan is utter nonsense. It reeks of some kind of unconscious bias on your part. And I despise that sort of thing" he glared at the Headmaster, crossing his arms in an elegant way.
Riddle was the next person to agree. "I am in complete agreement with Housewarden Vil. As one of the foremost mages here, the last thing I want to do is give up without a fight"
A certain shadow, smirking inside of Leona's shadow, began to whisper more things in Leona's ears. "Don't you wanna see that self-important, stuck-up jerk's crestfallen face get broadcast to the whole world? Doesn't the thought of it make you wanna roar?" Leona said, making an unsettling smirk.
I couldn't help but sweatdrop from fear of that growing shadow around Leona. 'Was that another blossom? But which one...?'
Azul smirked, chuckling as well, "Fufu, That would certainly boost the ratings!"
Kalim agreed with Leona as well. "Well, I certainly don't want to be on the losing side of this," he spoke, looking determined.
"Seriously? I'm the only one who wants him in the hall of fame?" Idia asked, glowing when it talked. I turned towards the floating iPad's camera, mumbling something, that I knew the iPad would pick up on 'I'm in the same boat, Idia-senpai' I told him.
Everyone else seemed to only ignore Idia's claims, mostly, the Savanaclaw Housewarden. "I think we have our answer. The hall of Fame idea is officially shut down" he told the Headmaster, who only let out a sigh, rubbing his temples in annoyance. "...fine, fine. But if this tear ends up being a repeat of the last two years, he's going in next year for sure" Crowley spoke, sighing in defeat.
"That's your call"
"Well, that was the last item on today's agenda," Azul spoke, closing his notebook that I didn't know he had this whole time. "Everyone, remember to submit your registration" he reminded the housewardens. "Not that I would be upset if it were to slip your mind...heh heh heh" Azul smirked, chuckling darkly.
Vil looked around the room, noticing that a certain housewarden wasn't there. "Incidentally, where IS Malleus? Did everyone forget to invite him again?" he asked.
"Oops!" Kalim and Riddle yelped.
Everyone else just flinched at the reminder.
I let out a sigh. "Suck my willy, you ALL suck!" I shout.
Let's just say that everyone left the mirror chamber in shock after what I just said, and with Riddle scolding me like a mom.
Two students from Heartslabyul were walking down the stairs towards the main floor. "The spelldrive tournament rosters should be final any day now. I can't wait to play against Camelius when we win." one said, yawning.
"Have you come up with any flashy new spells?" his friend asked.
"You know it!" the boy grinned. "I already showed one to Professor Crewel and he seemed pretty impressed. I can't wait to show it to the Housewar- BWAAAH?!" the boy yelped, falling down the remaining stairs, twisting his ankle.
"Gah! That hurt!" the boy shouts, clenching his ankle. His friend rushed down the stairs to meet him, "Hey! What just happened?! Why'd you tumble down the stairs like that?!" he asked.
"My ankle...it hurts!" he yelled from pain.
"Oh no! We gotta get you to the nurse! Perhaps Lady Y/n could lead us some phoenix tears...it looks pretty bad" a friend panicked, helping his friend get to the infirmary.
Unknown to them, a was shadow lingering at the top of the stairs. "Shihihihi!" They didn't hear the laughter from the shadow as it disappeared into another corridor.
*Drip Drip*
"Fufufu.
This is...
is so exciting...!"
