《Winter Wonderland》Red Rose Tyrant: part 18

"I may look relatively sweet and handsome..." Lilla takes a bite of Korean fried chicken from Y/n bento, who offered a piece. "However, as our lovely Y/n says...I wouldn't call me a child."
Y/n would look at her phone which had a notification from the Diasomnia rascals groupchat.
My, whatever do you mean?
Fufufu, I've been caught~
How about a "no"~
Don't simp for him!
He's mine!
Poor Sebek was confused about Y/n comment.
"Still, there's no need to stare. Chat with those of us in Diasomina whenever you wish. We'll always welcome you with open arms" Lilla grinned as the group looked up towards Sliver and Sebek, who were staring at them from afar. More specificly, Sebek, who was glaring daggers at a certain horned female who was quietly snickering.
"They're looking the total opposite of welcome..." Deuce mumbled, noticing the glare from Sebek.
"Here's a token of our new friendship. Some snow candy from Permafrost. One try and you might get hooked" Lilla grins, placing two pieces of candy on Ace's hand
"Make sure to visit our dorm later, Y/n~" and with that, Lilla was gone. Back at his table.
"So...huh?" Ace finally noticed that he was gone, as Yuuna, Grim, and Deuce turned towards the Diasomina table where Lillia was, waving towards them.
"How'd he even hear our conversation from so far away?" Deuce asked.
"Talk about creepy! Even Y/n heard us during P.E class, and she was at least 20 or 30 meters away!" Ace exclaimed.
Y/n noticed Sebek's expression, which she burst out laughing, as Trey joined in as well.
Yuuna saw that Y/n wiped away a crocodile tear.
"Yeah, well...they are an unusual bunch" Trey tries to explain.
"Their housewarden, Malleus Draconia, is wicked amazing, though." Cater pointed out.
"Indeed. He's known as one of the Five greatest magicans in the world." Trey says.
"What's even more wicked is that Y/n is far greater than the Great Five magicans" Cater mentioned.
"For real?!" Ace explained, as Y/n advered her eyes from the group when Ace, Duece, and Grim stared at her in shock, while Yuuna looked stunned.
"Yeah. But let's take that collar, for example, that's a type of Unique magic." Y/n says, trying to take off the focus on her to something else.
"Unique magic?"
"As Y/n said, 'Unique magic' is a type of special magic whose characteristics are developed by drawing from the magician's own personality. Riddle's unique magic can seal another person's magic for a limited time. It's called " Trey exclaimed.
"Eek! Just hearing that name sends a chill up my spine!" Grim shivered in fear.
"It seems that losing your magic in a magic school must suck..." Yuuna mumbled. She didn't want to have her own magic sealed.

"Well...it's no problem so long as you follow the rules. After all, having your magic sealed is far more merciful than that ' spell Y/n cast on those delinquents"
"It is a type of unique magic? What does it do anyway?" asked Yuuna.
"Well, Blood's refrain, is a song-type of unique magic that can be cast by any magician with a lot of mana. But it's a dangerous spell not only towards the target but to the magician as well due to it being known to accumulate a lot of blot" Trey explains. "What the spell does it casts an illusion towards their target, making them see themselves as the beheaded by the guillotine as a crowd of people chant the song. It says that the target will feel the pain of the blade beheading them, snapping them out of the illusion. Y/n casting it was the first time seeing it in-person" Trey says, pushing up his glasses.
"Then...how was Y/n able to cast it if it accumulates a lot of blot?" Yuuna asked.
Deuce, Ace, and Grim were confused because they didn't know what blot is.
"oh? The reason is simple. I don't blot at all" Y/n said it plainly, as Trey and Cater were shocked.
"Wow...that must be pretty cool," Cater says brightly. "How about Amaryllis?"
"oh? As Trey said, Amaryllis dorm is based on the serenity of the ice queen. I gave the order to the headmaster to have the dark mirror put the students in Amaryllis if they have an icy aura capable of bringing the temperature of a room down if uncontrolled. Students in Amaryllis are capable of withstanding cold temperatures and excel in magic like Diasomina, Mostly magic related to Frost. We have icy blue and snow white armbands" Y/n explained, showing her armband that is the same as Yuuna. "Only students who are serene and nonviolent are capable of joining. Delinquents of any kind will freeze to death by frost's judgement"
"Scary..."
Ace turned to trey, leaning on his palm. "So...there is no way to get this collar off...unless I come back with a tart as the rules require?" Ace asked.
"According to the decrees of the queen of hearts, rule 53: yeah" Trey answered.
"Dammit!" Ace yelled, slapping his fist on the table. "When all I did to get collared was eat a single piece?! The Housewarden is really fuckin insane!" Deuce and Yuuna's faces paled at the sight of a certain housewarden standing behind Ace.
"Language!" Y/n shouted.
"A-a-ace..! Behind you!" Deuce pointed out.
"Oh really?" asked the student behind Ace, making Ace tense in fear. "Just how insane would you say I am?" it asked.
'His timing is also insane' Y/n sweatdropped.
"Geh...Housewarden!" Ace shrieked, turning around to face...Riddle Rosehearts.

Deuce and Cater turned towards Riddle, as Trey, Yuuna, and Grim widen their eyes in shock, all of them sweatdropped.
Meanwhile, Y/n just took a sip of her tea.
"Oh, Hello Strawberry hearts" Y/n smiled at Riddle who blushed at his nickname, making a huffing sound. "H-hello, Y/n.."
"Oh, Riddle! You're looking super duper cute today!~" Cater cheerfully said, trying to brighten up the tense atmosphere. "Cater. Run your mouth off and your head will roll." Riddle huffed a bit.
"Whoa, whoa, gimme a break here!" Cater says, waving his hands up in defense.
Suddenly, a stinging but warm sensation was back, making Y/n have a confused expression on her face as Riddle looked surprised. When he took another look at her, he felt his cheeks warm up a bit. 'what's wrong with me...why do I feel all warm and calm when I look in those heterochromatic eyes that Y/n has...it makes her look more beautiful that when my darling had two golden eyes...wait what, how do I know this? Why did I call her mine...?' Riddle was taken out of his thoughts when Cater called for him.
"Riddle? You there?"
"o-oh" Riddle gasped a bit but then turned to the table in front of him with a glare.
"Apparently you were pardoned from injuring my Y/n when she stopped you from scorching that statue and destroying the chandelier" Riddle started off.
'Did he say 'my Y/n'?" Yuuna questioned in her head.
"The headmaster is far too lenient, especially when it comes to injuring a female student. If he keeps overlooking disciplinary violations, eventually the whole school will come crashing down" Riddle continued, completely unaware of what he said about Y/n who was red from the comment.
She had a feeling that Riddle was her second soulmate, due to him also reacting to the warm sensation in this chest, and stinging one on their left collarbone.
Riddle then put his hand above her chest "If it were up to me...I'd deal with the issue and behead everyone who defied me" he said.
"His attitude doesn't match his face. Freaky..." Ace mumbled.
He suddenly flinched by Riddle turned towards Ace, with a deadly glare. He seemed to have heard the boy. He suddenly grabbed the lock that was attached to the collar, making Ace yelp in surprise.
"I planned on removing this after you reflected on your actions, but..." Riddle let out of the collar and turned away, "You clearly feel no remorse whatsoever. I'll have you stay like this a little while longer."
"huh?!"
"With no magic, you can't cause a stir like yesterday, right?" Riddle says. "Ace will be just fine, after all, freshmen's beginning semester classes are more lecture-oriented than actually putting magic into practice" Y/n commented, making Riddle grin.
"Finally, a 1st year who understands" Riddle phrased.
"Now. Enough prattling on and on. Hurry and get ready for your next class. By the decrees of the queen of hearts," he started off.
"Article 271: One must rise from the table within 15 minutes after eating."
Riddle widen his eyes in surprise when Y/n seemed to know the rules.
"I-I trust you understand the consequences?" asked Riddle.
Ace sighed, "Another weird rule and Y/n defending in..."
Y/n smiled in annoyance, twitching her eye in anger. It seemed Riddle's eye twitched in anger as well because he suddenly started shouting. "You reply should be '"
"Yes, Housewarden!" Ace and Deuce replied in unison.
"Excellent." Riddle calm down a bit. "Now, now. I'll be sure to keep an eye on them" Trey says.
"Trey. Much like at the entrance ceremony, aren't you being too soft on our newcomers?" Riddle asked. "You're vice housewarden. Cease the chatter and act like it" Riddle scolded Trey, who rubbed his neck nervously.
"I must abide by article 339 of her decrees: An after meal drink must be lemon tea with 2 sugar cubes. If you'll excuse me, I'll be heading to the campus store." Riddle said. He then took out a pocketwatch. "Right. Two minutes have already gone by during our discussion! Make sure to rise from your seats within 13 minutes." he says walking away.
"Uh...I do not get him" grumbled Ace, as everyone else stayed slient.
[Riddle's POV]
"Honestly. Letting the sugar cubes run out is a grave offense" I mumbled while everyone else was busy chatting.
As I walk towards the exit, I noticed to see some students sipping Milk tea, making me grind my teeth in anger.
"What do they think school and dorm rules are?! Both the headmaster and Trey are far too forgiving. They should be like Y/n who is willing to help me punish rulebreakers. I will not tolerate further rule violations." I stomped out of the cafeteria, ignoring all the looks from passing students in the hallway.
"I'll show them all the right path!"
"Whew! That was scary~" Cater laughed nervously as he took a sip of lemon tea with 2 sugar cubes prepared by Y/n's magic. Yuuna was nervously doing the same, just to be safe.
"Man! That guy's nasty!" Grim exclaimed.
"Hey! Don't be rude!" Deuce scolded.
Suddenly Yuuna and Y/n heard some whispering.
"Did the dorm leader leave?"
"I...I broke article 186...What'll I do if he finds out?" a student asked his classmate in fear.
His classmate let out a sigh, "I wanna have the freedom to eat what I want..."
Deuce and Ace seemed to have heard as well.
"I mean, so do I..." Ace grumbled.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

STEM: The Topical Dungeon
Inspired by CORE: The Volcanic Dungeon by Ace Arriande and a spiritual successor to my writing prompt series Evolution Barricade, STEM is a series following the reincarnation of Kaden into the fantasy world of Brogdar. Reborn as a "DM" and a plant, Kaden tackles the challenges of being the agent of the chaotic god: trying to be his very own dungeon master. However, unlike other stories, Kaden is often making fun of and dealing with disadvantages that the normal reincarnated hero would never have to worry about. A parody of the normal tropes of isekai, STEM is a periodic series that is intended to release a minimum of once per week. There may be times where there is more than one drop, but those would be special occasions. Additionally, the content tags are simply to try and ensure my readers know these stories can encompass a large variety of things. They may not immediately be in focus, but they will all end up appearing!
