This was it, the day of the prom, the last time everyone would be together at Riverdale high. All the memories, drama, love and loss over the past years.
The group made a pact to get ready separately. The girls at Georgies and the boys at Archie's and then they would come together at Georgies before they go.
Georgie was nervous about the big reveal of the dresses she had made for the group. She had made a green dress for Cheryl, something different other than red.
For Veronica she made a beautiful red dress with a slit down the side.
For Betty a beautiful navy blue strapless dress down to her thighs.
Non of the girls have seen the designs yet as Georgie wanted to keep them until the last minute. The girls gathered to sort out their hair and makeup together.
"I can't believe this is our SENIOR prom!" Cheryl squeals.
"This year has been crazy!" Betty adds.
"I feel like since I came back all there has been is trouble, but I'm glad I have you girls to get me through it, I don't know where I'd be without you all" Georgie teared up and they had a group hug.
"I gotta say this is the a crazy town, but I couldn't imagine being anywhere else!" Veronica smiles.
The girls began to do their makeup. Georgie told the girls the colour of their dresses so that they are able to match their hair and makeup how they like it.
All three of the girls went to go and try on their dresses together. Georgie sat and waited on her bed for the girls to come back in and she heard squeals and "Oh my god!" Coming from the girls"
"What? What's the matter? Don't you like them? Don't they fit?" Georgie panicked.

"Are you kidding!" The 3 girls walked in.
"They are amazing!" Betty twirled around.
"I can't believe you made these!" Veronica looked in the mirror.
"I couldn't have picked anything better myself" Cheryl ran her hands down herself.
"Ok your turn" Veronica pulled Georgie up as she went go change into her outfit.
"Come on, the suspense is killing us" Cheryl shouts.
Georgie takes a deep breath before she come out of the bathroom in her dress. It was a black floor length dress that had lace on the top and a deep plunge cleavage.
"Oh my god! Georgie you look......shit girl!" Cheryl spoke first.
The girls heard the front door and the boys talking to Georgies dad. The girls all checked last minute hair and makeup before heading down the stairs.
There they were Archie, Jughead, Cameron and Reggie who was taking Cheryl. All dressed in suits looking as handsome as ever.
Once down the stairs Georgie headed to Archie instantly.
"I can't really speak right now, you look breathtaking, wow!" Archie smile kissing Georgie.
"Ok picture time!" Allison shouts as she stood with her camera.
The group had pictures taken and as the others left to the limo, Archie and Georgie waited begins to say goodbye. Charles walked over to Georgie with tears his eyes
"Dad don't cry" Georgie felt the tears welling up in her eyes.
"I'm sorry I'm just so happy, your mother is so proud of you right now, so happy that you turned out to be so much like her, you know you look exactly like her at your age" he sniffed giving her a big hug. Georgie stopped the tears before they could fall as he dad pulled away.
"And you Mr Andrews look after my daughter, to be honest, you are the only one I trust with my daughter, if I didn't I would have gotten rid of you along time ago" Charles chuckled

"Daddy" Georgie laughed.
"Thank you Mr Snow, I think" Archie laughs.
"No go have an amazing night" he kissed his daughter as they left.
Once they got inside the school to see everything decorated and it looked amazing.
"Wow! It looks unrecognisable!" Veronica commented.
As the night went on with lots of dancing and conversation, Georgie excuses herself and comes back with a huge grin on her face.
"Where did you go?" Archie wrapped his arms around her as they talked to the group.
"You'll see" Georgie took a drink whilst grinning at Jug.
"What did you do?" He asks rolling his eyes.
Archie grabs georgies hand and pulled her to the dance floor.
"Can you believe we have finished school?" He asked.
"I know, it's crazy" Georgie smiled
"We have the rest of our lives together" he smiled down at her.
"Can I have everyone's attention please, we are about to announce prom king and queen" Mr Weatherbee came over the mic. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to the stage.
"And your prom king and queen are.......... Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones" He shouts and everyone cheers. Jug immediately shoots his head go Georgie as she grins.
Betty drags Jughead on stage glaring at Georgie all the time as she grins.
"What did you do?" Archie asks.
"Well I think they could use a little win, plus it will annoy Jughead, so I may have switched the voting cards" she turned and grinned at Archie.
When Betty and Jug had accepted the crowns Georgie began taking her shoes off.
"What are you doing?" Archie asked.
"You'll see" she replied and suddenly jug ran from the stage over to Georgie as she started running away from him.
"I'm gonna kill you!" He runs after her.
••••••••••••••
After the prom had finished they all head to Pops for milkshakes instead of the after party. Once everyone was sat down with milkshakes Georgie stood up in her dress.
"I want to make a speech, these past couple of years have been some of the best and worst experiences of my entire life. And I would not want them to happen with anyone else but you all sat here now, so I love you all and here's to the future"
"The future" everyone raises their milkshakes.
"That was cheesy Georgie" Jughead commented.
"Shut up Juggy" Georgie sat down hitting him in the head. As Archie wraps his arm around her.
"You ok?" Archie asks
"Perfect" Georgie kisses him.

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx. Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
