《Bakusquad Oneshots》Movie night

Watching movies with Katsuki sucked. The Bakusquad knew that very much so.

When it came to movie nights regardless if it was just the squad or the entire class most never enjoyed the night. This would be because depending on the movie or said series Katsuki would speak. For example, if he or someone else picked a movie he had already watched and loved or even hated he would want to speak through it, explain lore and, "Did you know?" type of things throughout. He means no harm by doing so, just a habit is what his squad assumed.

Katsuki was a lonely child growing up, with nobody who liked the same things he liked, thought the same way he thought. So now with the friends he has, he enjoys being happy while explaining things that also make him happy. Having someone who seemed to care about what you had to say was better than nothing. His mum didn't even try to act like she cared.

Though this ended up leading to some complications. The class despised movie nights with him, often telling him to shut up, or groan whenever he opens his mouth.

It got so bad that they stopped inviting Katsuki to the movie nights.

Katsuki tried to keep his mouth shut once aware of the situation but he failed. The excitement bubbled in him, and once popped there was no going back.

The squad gave him the benefit of the doubt but it never stopped, so they also stopped having squad movie nights with him.

Katsuki would stay in his dorm whenever there was a class sleepover in the common room, he didn't want to disturb their fun nor was he ever allowed to go.

And when it came to squad hangouts, Katsuki as well stayed in his dorm. He wasn't allowed to sleep at his friends' dorms due to his issue with trying to go into great detail about whatever show or movie was playing.

Sure, Katsuki missed cuddling up in his friend's bed with everyone, watching his favorite movies, and explaining fun facts.

Yet his fun facts weren't fun for anyone else besides him.

And now nothing has changed. He is still alone with nobody to talk to or to relate when it comes to his ideas and theories.

But how could he blame them?

If he was them he'd probably cut him off as well. Or so he heard.

Katsuki sighed, sitting up in his bed, his show was no longer enjoyable. He couldn't think about the movie itself, or any of its details. The only things on his mind were the vacant areas of the bed.

Weekends were no longer enjoyable. All of his favorites were dull.

Katsuki groaned and gripped his hair in anger, he just needed to find the right movie to help him forget about everything else around him.

Or maybe to learn to shut the fuck up.

Or maybe a midnight snack.

Katsuki smiled softly to himself, he stood up from his cold empty bed and headed towards the kitchen for a nice snack to get his mind off of things.

Walking in he noticed the common room empty. "I guess they didn't do a movie today." Katsuki mumbled to himself as he grabbed a bowl.

Katsuki poured cereal and milk into his bowl then sat on the counter, mindlessly swinging back and forth his legs as he quietly ate his cereal.

"There was no group movie night so it must be just a squad movie night." Katsuki muttered through a spoon full of cereal. "Wonder what movie?" Katsuki asked himself through another bite of cereal as he continued to talk to himself.

Katsuki shrugged and continued eating his cereal, why should it matter to him what they were watching. He was probably watching something better than them anyway.

Soon Katsuki heard familiar voices walking towards the kitchen area as he ate. Katsuki chose to ignore it and focus on the last bit of his almost soggy cereal.

"Yeah but that doesn't make sense! That literally came out of nowhere. They just kinda threw it in there with no working context clues." Yelled Mina as she and the rest of the squad walked into the kitchen, oblivious to Katsuki who was sitting on the counter quietly, spoon in his mouth as he tried to stay still as possible and not make any movement hoping his squad hadn't noticed him.

"I know right. They can't just pull that shit and expect everyone who watched it to understand." Sero said, agreeing with Mina.

"Y'all thought that was confusing? That was in no way as confusing as the third and fourth episode. They just pulled that shit out of their ass." Kaminari complained, causing Kirishima to nod dramatically.

Katsuki stayed tense, the spoon in his mouth started to taste shitty, the metal causing a butter taste in his mouth and the fact he was holding the bowl a weird way made him hand cramp yet despite all of the painful shit he was experiencing he was able to understand what they were talking about.

A series that Katsuki happened to be watched as well as currently rewatching. Yet he must stay quiet, he wants to get better and maybe just maybe his classmates and squad would allow him back at movie nights. It gets lonely during the late hours of the night and early hours of the morning.

Mina sighed, "I just don't understand why they look one way in the first two episodes, different in the third and forth, then jump back as we watch the fifth to the first and second episode character designs."

"No seriously! And they are talking about completely different shit that hasn't been explained yet." Kirishima agreed, bothered as well by the troubling series.

Katsuki wanted to open his mouth and just spill everything he knew about that show, the characters, their backstories, why things happen one way and not the other way but he bit in his tounge. Or tried at least, the metal spoon wasn't making it very easy.

Katsuki cursed his aching wrist, maybe just maybe he could quietly set the bowl down without being noticed by his squad who were on the opposite side of the chicken looking for snacks. Katsuki quietly moved his arm, his wrist aching as he moved it to set the bowl down ever so softly.

Katsuki thought if he accidentally got his squads attention it would be from setting down the bowl yet no. Katsuki was very much wrong. It was actually the spoon that fell out of his mouth as he let out a relieved sigh.

Very inconvenient if you ask him.

As the spoon hit the ground, each squad member jumped in surprise, turning around to face the fire action of where the spoon had fallen.

Katsuki just smiled awkwardly and waved, he once again began to swing his legs back and forth nervously as he felt the eyes of his squad burning holes into his clothes and skin. Katsuki just ignored the dumbfounded stares and jumped off the counter, grabbing the spoon he unfortunately dropped.

"Haha don't worry about me. I was about to head to bed anyway." Katsuki mumbled half-heartedly, a sheepish smile sent there way as he began washing his dishes.

Katsuki could still feel the stares but he ignored them or he tried to at least.

Mina decided to be the first one to speak in the uncomfortable silence. "Soooo Bakubabes? Whatcha doing on this fine early morning? I've never seen you stay up so late before."

Katsuki thought for a moment, then looked at the clock. Normally he would stay up late on the weekends, but never this late. Maybe it was from his boredom or his loneliness. Either way Katsuki just looked back at Mina and shrugged then mumbled, "I don't know."

Back to the awkward silence.

Katsuki noticed from the corner of his eyes the mouths of his friends opening and closing as if to say something yet the words were unable to leave their lips.

"Well," Katsuki said with a smile, putting up his now cleaned dishes. "I hope everything goes well with the show. I'll get back to watching it as well." Katsuki then smiled and tried to book it to his dorm but he was stopped.

Mina smiled sheepishly, "Hey! Baku..? Do you wanna..? Do you wanna watch it with us..?"

Katsuki looked confused.

"I know.. I know we haven't been really kind when it comes to movie nights... but we..." Kaminari tried to continue but his words would not come out.

"But we?" Katsuki asked with a confused glance.

"We are confused so fucking badly and need you to help us. You know every nook and cranny when it comes to movie shit. Please help out a couple of dumbasses?" Sero said quickly, annoyed that his friends were dragging out a simple question.

Katsuki looked at them for a moment, astonished they wanted him to join a movie night after so long of not being invited.

Katsuki continued to stare at them until he bursted out laughing. The squad looked confused as well as ashamed.

"Sorry for uh asking. I know it kinda seems like we are using ya but we really do miss you." Kirishima said with a pitiful, awkward laugh.

"N-no!" Katsuki shouted between laughs. "I'm laughing because someone finally wants me to watch a movie with them, and not just for pity but for facts! It's a joy to know that not everyone is put off by my knowledge of movies and shows." Katsuki trying to hold his giggled and shrieks of laughter.

His friends immediately felt guilty for making him feel like nobody would ever want to watch a movie with him yet they also felt relief that Katsuki wasn't upset with them. It has taken a strain on their relationship which was becoming too large to ignore. It was empty and weird without their ash blonde friend hanging out around them, happy as can be when he can clear up any clothes fusing you may have or just give a simple fun fact not many if any knew of.

It was weird to not have him around. It was like a butterfly with no wings.

Unnatural.

"Close your mouths. Flies will nest in them if ya don't. Now hurry up, it's late and I got a timeline to explain!" Katsuki said sharply as he began marching off to whoever's room was designated for movie night.

The squad smiled and chased after.

Talking during a movie sucked.

But if it was Katsuki, they could excuse it.
