Shoto had fallen in love. It was no crush. It wasn't simple like that, he was knees deep in a one-sided love. So far at least. Could that change? Hopefully so.

Shoto always wanted someone. Someone that understood him, someone who wouldn't sugar coat things but also be understanding. Yet he never thought someone else could possibly be with someone as weird as him. And most days he still believes it... yet he holds onto hope, and hence sees the ash blonde boast around confidently his heart can't help but flutter. Shoto wished he could also be that confident and carefree. Shoto may be confident in his abilities but that is because he was trained to work his quirk at a very young age. Yet everything else he lacks. Very self conscious when it comes to asking for help, speaking, not understanding a social cue and so many more things. Shoto can't even speak up when they get his order wrong. Shoto would rather eat what he hates or is allergic too than speak up. All his confidance was wasted on his stupid quirk.

Which is why he admires Katsuki so much. Katsuki could voice his complaints and not regret it. Cared for others and himself without having complications between the two.

Shoto would do anything for the other to notice him. Anything to be cared for. Just for once.

"Oi. Half n' half! You spacing off there, idiot. Ya good?" Katsuki mumbled, he seemed to have just woken up.

It was early, early in the morning. Around two or three in the morning. Shoto was unable to sleep, and it seemed Katsuku was just getting up for hydration. A nice cold cup of water.

"Mhm." Shoto mumbled softly, never leaving the wall he's been staring at for more than thirty minutes.

"Don't Mhm me. I've watched your eyes stay on that crusty ass wall for more than fifteen minutes. Should I call the doctor or you?" Katsuki muttered, taking a sip from his water.

Shoto ignored him, "Did you know that wall hasn't been cleaned in well over a month."

"Looks like well over a year. No matter how much I cleaned it, it still looked like a nasty piece of shit." Katsuki said with an annoyed huff, glaring holes into the wall with his hatred for dirty things.

They sat in silence for a moment until Katsuki spoke again, "Don't ignore me. If you are having trouble just say something. Ya know the more you ignore it the more you regret it."

Shoto thought for a moment. When they were younger Katsuki wasn't always so outspoken when it came to sincerity. It was only after he was kidnapped that he learned that holding it in was more self destructive than helpful. Even if you think the whole world is out to get you.

"I'm sad." Shoto mumbled softly.

Katsuki rolled his eyes, "Obviously. Why though?"

"I'm not sure. It could do nothing, or multiple things. Maybe I'm being over dramatic or stupid. But I just feel down. More empty than usual and I have no explanation." Shoto said finally after just sitting in silence for about five.

"It's okay to not know why you're sad. It's just not okay to hide it. It'll only get worse ya know. Stupid Icy-hot." Katsuki mumbled softly as he washed his cup, making sure there was no mess before he got to work.

"How else can I make sure everyone is okay if you don't say something, dumbass. Our class can only handle so much, so try not to make things worse for yourself by thinking nobody gives a shit when you know damn well my door stays unlocked for idiots who need it." Katsuki continued to complain as he placed his cup back into the cabinet where he got it from.

Shoto nodded, "Sorry." He said as he slid onto the counter top. He was sleepy yet his eyes wouldn't close. He wouldn't dare go back into his room, for dreams nightmares awaited him.

"Don't apologize, dumbass. I hate when people apologize for no reason. You have nothing to apologize for. You can't help your feelings. Our minds trick us, but we have to trick it back." Katsuki said with an annoyed glance, if one thing he hated was when people apologize when they have nothing to be sorry for. Especially if they had no control of the situation on hand.

Katsuki sighed looking down at the obviously tired Shoto. "Are you going to bed anytime soon?" Katsuki asked.

Shoto shook his head, "No."

Katsuki looked up at the coffee machine, how could he not have noticed it was on? He turned it off, and looked back at Shoto.

"I was gonna use that." Shoto muttered, never looking up.

"Now you aren't." Katsuki muttered, picking up the sleepily teen and walked towards the dorms.

Katsuki walked towards his own dorm, bringing Shoto with him.

Both of them had questions yet neither of them talked. They just had a mutual understanding that this will continue some other time. That just being there was more than enough at the moment.
