Why must he stand there and pretend like it isn't killing him.
Why must he stand there and pretend like he isn't crying on the inside.
Why must he stand there and pretend like he is much stronger than he really is.
Why must HE?
. . .
Katsuki stood in the living room and his parents argued in the kitchen. He should be in bed by now.. he had school tomorrow... but he couldn't help it.
So he just sat there, in his weirdly long pajamas and he gripped tightly into his freshly cut hair... he listened to the words each would yell at eachother. Such anger.. such bullshit.. Katsuki simply couldn't understand why?
He cried into his arms as he listened... not like they could hear him... their yelling was loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear.
Katsuki pulled on his shirt slightly as he shifted uncomfortably. He could hear his father tell his mother to quiet down, as he didn't want Katsuki to be awoken..
Only if he knew.
Katsuki's mother didn't hold back after she heard what Masaru had said. She got louder, quite louder.
Katsuki held back tears as he cried into his arms.
He looked up to see his parents began to move... to which he assumed their bedroom to argue more "quietly"
Katsuki began to freak out as he began to get up and run to his room to try not to be caught but his father had seen him.. and if his father had seen him then so did his mother.
Masaru seemed shocked and saddened, Mitsuki on the other hand seemed pissed that her child was up past their bedtime.

"Oh buddy.. I'm so.. so sorry you had to hear that... how about we go lay down.. got a big day at school tomorrow.. me and your mother will keep our mouths shut for the rest of the night." Masaru said softly, he felt terrible that his son had to go through that.. if only he could fix things for his son.
"Will you stop treating her like a baby! Maybe that's why she turned out that way! Go get your ass in bed young lady! We told you to go to bed an hour ago!" Mitsuki yelled, her words sharp as a knife.. stabbing his heart til there was nothing left but a bloody blob.
Katsuki felt terrified, he ran off to his room to hide.. hoping the stuffed animals and blanket would keep him safe from his mother.. from anything.
Masaru was pissed at Mitsuki's harmful words, "When will you stop misgendering our son??And maybe act like a good mother for once in your life!" He yelled.
"When she realizes she isn't a fuckin a guy! And stop encouraging that behavior!" Mitsuki yelled in anger as she slammed her fist into the wall.
"Get out. Get out now." Masaru said, he didn't care about his safety from his wife... he only cared about his son.
"What? Who the hell do you think you are?!" Mitsuki yelled, taking her fist from the wall.
Masaru ignored his wife and ran to his son's room. While he ran he quickly yelled, "I want you to leave, if you don't I'm calling the authorities."
Which Mitsuki didn't take kindly... yet Masaru didn't care.. he might not stand up for himself often but nobody hurts his son and gets away with it.
He could hear his wife yelling after him but he didn't not care. All he wanted to do was to check up on his son.

To set a good example...
To protect him at all costs.
Masaru locked the door as soon as he entered Katsuki's room.
To call the authorities then wait for the authorities to come.
Hopefully soon.
Katsuki didn't deserve this.. not at all.
He could hear yelling but he ignored it...
To see his son crying, Masaru ran over to him... pulled him in a tight hug... whispering "I'm sorry." Over and over again. Masaru knew this wasn't going to make the situation better.
Katsuki just cried.. and cried into Masaru's shirt..
"I'm so sorry bubs.. I'm sorry I let this happen.. don't listen to her bubs.. you are my big strong boy... and nothing will change that. Not me, not her. Don't listen to anyone who will purposely hurt you like her, okay?" Masaru whispered to his crying son.
He rocked them back and forth and they listened to the banging and yelling of Mitsuki.
He called the authorities while he set music up to distract Katsuki from the loud noises. He put on the headphones, and he kissed his son's head affectionately. "Try to rest while I deal with this... don't worry about school tomorrow... just rest." Masaru said softly, causing Katsuki to nod.
Masaru called for the authorities... he slid against the door as he hung up.... All he had to do was to wait. The banging didn't stop.. and it only got louder... hopefully the music would save Katsuki from his worries.
Masaru felt the kicks and punches Mitsuki gave to the door as he leaned against it. He cried silently...
. . .
"I'm sorry son."

Beyond The Game (Abandoned)
Kaine sighed as his foe advanced once more, never letting up, barely giving him time to breathe. He pressed forward as well, excited and ready, welcoming the bloodshed that was to come. His short blade, meeting the bestial warrior's bone-made longsword. Their weapons clattering sound into each of their ears when they clashed. Kaine pushed, as did his foe, beginning the contest of strength. A dance which Kaine controlled the steps of. As their eyes met, both of them weary, but Kaine's expression was resolved...maddened almost. Whilst his foe's was fear-struck, the creature was terrified down to its core. As were its comrades which surrounded them, watching, waiting for an opening to have at Kaine themselves. Seeing many...but they faltered, as the dead had seen the same openings before. Their battered, broken and still freshly bleeding bodies laying sprawled about their surroundings. It is just one... One of them thought in shaken disbelief. Just...Just one man but he kills so many...smiling even! Glancing from the dead, and back at Kaine as he slew another. No...this is no man... Was its panicked conclusion. This one's a monster! As Kaine turned to face it, weapon ready and grinning widely throughout his approach.

Clarent Saga: Chronicles
Based on my work on Saga of the Jewels, I've been hired by an indie game developer to write the novel for their 'novel + turn-based battles' game which is in Early Access on Steam. Of course, a 'novel + turn based battles' is a terrible idea for a game, which is why no other games like this exist, but hey, the developer is paying me. And if something's worth doing at all, it's worth doing as well as possible, so I am going to give this project my very best shot and try to make it as good as it can be. So if you read this, please give me feedback on the story to help me make it as good as it can be! Please note, for this story I have been given a pre-existent set of characters, character back-story sketches and a rough plot to work with. I also have to insert random battles into the narrative, have set characters appear in a certain order, and have the party fight fixed bosses in a certain order, all at fixed points! Please also note that this is a first draft. I will be editing and re-working this in the future and re-posting it. But I need helpful feedback, if anyone can give it. You can also find the game version of this on Steam by searching there for 'Clarent Saga: Chronicles'.
